Perfect "get-a-way" cabin in Spearfish Canyon. Convenient to many activities. Totally enjoyed the early fall days sitting on the deck. Did all the "tourist" things, i.e. D.C.Booth Hatchery, Badlands, Custer St. Park, Mt. Rushmore, Gravesites of Wild Bill and Calamity Jane, gambling in Deadwood and at the new Lodge at Deadwood (fantastic), fishing, hikes along the river and enjoying the waterfalls. Had a wonderful time and working with Dave and Elise was a pleasure.

Thanks for nothing!

We stayed for only 3 days and my wife spent one of those days doing NOTHING except relaxing, reading, and occasionally napping in this beautiful home in its heavenly surroundings. Just what she needed since she travels the country weekly. I used her nap time to hike, explore and do some fishing in the calming rush of Spearfish Creek. We're looking forward to a longer stay next time.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed here for 4 nights and wish we would have stayed for the whole week. Was a great location with great access to many local hikes and good fishing. The house has all the amenities you could need for your stay with great views of the canyon and a very short walk to a restaurant if you prefer. The deck is a great place to grill and eat dinner in the evenings. Dave was a great host and easy to work with. We would highly recommend.

All three couples that stayed in the cabin for the week agreed that it is a very nice cabin, comfortable, and well appointed. The setting is beautiful and while nicely off the road is still easy to get to and convenient to the area's attractions. The three whitetail does that welcomed us every day were just the right thing to make us say "Wow, what a nice spot".

This is the perfect getaway. Set 12 miles up into the canyon, the cabin features floor to ceiling windows for a perfect view of the pine tree covered canyon walls. Breathtaking. My family and I had everything we needed available in the cabin, including information about the region provided by Dave. We could stay in and relax, easily drive to any of the sites, including Deadwood and Mount Rushmore, or hike one of the trails. Dave was a gracious host, very helpful, going out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We can't wait to visit again.

Our stay at David's Spearfish Canyon Cabin was a wonderful experience from start to finish. David was very flexible and professional. The home is lovely and beautifully furnished, with three levels to accomodate many people, yet keep privacy as well. The deck and outside area is most enjoyable and in an exquisite setting. The home is easy to get to and located such that you are near to many of the sights in the Black Hills. I'm hoping to go back with my girls group in the near future!

We stayed at this cabin for 4 nights. It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Dave is extremely easy to work with and made the stay even more enjoyable. Not only did he let us stay in his cabin, but he had maps available along with suggestions of sights to see. He thought of everything to make our stay fantastic. We will definitely stay there again.
