Meadow Village chalet description
This lovely 2,160 square foot, three bedroom, three bath coach home chalet, newly constructed in 2004, features all the desirable vacation conveniences including highspeed internet access.
RECENT RESIDENCE UPDATES FALL 2013:
New 50' Flat Panel HDTV. New Hot Tub! New Tile throughout the entire residence (entry, laundry, kitchen and all bathrooms). Completely re-painted. New theme oriented light fixtures throughout. New black kitchen appliances (fridge, dishwasher, range, microwave). We will update the pictures ASAP but by Feb 2014 at the latest.
Upstairs, the large loft with pull-out couch provides a quiet place to read, relax, write, or simply gaze out the window to contemplate a beautiful up-mountain view. The Master Suite has a queen log bed, TV/DVD, enormous closet, and a private bath with double sinks. The upstairs guest bedroom has a queen log bed and a full/single log bunk bed, TV/DVD, spectacular down mountain views, and a private bath. The main floor bedroom has a queen log bed, library, spectacular down mountain view, and a private bath.
The main floor is comfortably laid out with a large kitchen/dining/living room alignment. The kitchen is fully stocked with all necessary cooking and serving utensils. The dining room can be made to seat 8 and there are four barstools which pull up to an elevated kitchen counter. The living room contains a beautiful, elevated slate fireplace, two great couches and the world’s most comfortable reading chair along with a third TV/DVD. The living room ends with sliding glass doors which open onto a concrete terrace with a private hot tub, gas grill, and spectacular down mountain views. The attached garage contains space for one automobile, ample wood for the fireplace, ski and board storage, and a worktable for tuning ski equipment. The inside of the Home was freshly painted in the summer of 2013.
Located in the Meadow Village of Big Sky, this home is close to everything. The base lodge at Big Sky Ski Resort is a brief 8 minute ride from your home. Newly constructed half pipe, jumps and many pre-fab structures make Big Sky a Mecca for snow boarders. During ski season a free shuttle bus runs prescheduled loops between one block from your home and the base facilities at Big Sky. Bars, restaurants, and grocery are just around the corner and a hiking trail to access the famous; Ousel Falls State Park is literally… just across the street. One of the World’s finest cross-country skiing facilities at Lone Mountain Ranch is two miles from your front door and in summer months, the Arnold Palmer designed Big Sky Golf Course is less than a mile away. The Gallatin, Madison, and Yellowstone rivers make Big Sky THE place to be for the fly-fishing enthusiast seeking world class, blue ribbon fishing. Believe it or not, fly-fishing is a “year-round” endeavor.
A little 2012 BIG SKY update: Well it finally happened; Big Sky now has a first-run, three screen movie theater in the Big Sky Meadow about one mile from our front door. Adult beverages and food may be brought into the theater. The Lone Mountain Brewery is now serving great, inexpensive 'bar/family' food. An awesome hand shuffleboard court is free and the Montana Lemonade (spiked with two shots of 44 North Mountain Huckleberry Vodka) is wonderful along with an assortment of craft beers manufactured on site.
A little 2013 BIG SKY update: Our entire family was in residence recently (9/2013). As we have done in the past, we took a couple of guides out on the Gallatin river to do some awesome, purist, upstream nymph fly-fishing. We had both great fun and great fishing success and it was as expensive as skiing for a day...or two. A few years ago I made a new friend of a local chef. This chef loves to baitfish the Gallatin but he is still a catch-and-release kind of guy. Proper bait-fishing requires no waders and no getting into a cold, slick, river. Massively fun for kids of all ages. Please see my daughter's HOG Brown Trout in the pictures section of the website! Ask Phil if you are interested in further information and we will attempt to hook you up with our new best friend. He also loves to crystal and artifact hunt along the Gallatin. Nice guy. Our boys also reported that there is a newly developed concrete skateboard park that is as awesome as any park one would find in a major metropolitan area. My oldest son manufactures skateboards and trust me....he knows his skateparks.
The Yellowstone National Park boundary is about 20 miles away and the town of West Yellowstone is about 40 miles south of the entrance to Big Sky. Summer or winter; Yellowstone is a huge hit with both children and adults! Hundreds of miles of unique hiking trails range throughout the entire area both inside and outside the park.
There is simply so much to do and see that it is impossible to cover it all here; however as an interesting update….you may have heard about swinging through the jungles of the South American Rain Forrest….well you can now swing above the skiers and hikers of Big Sky’s Lone Mountain! Two other organizations have also created complex challenge courses: tree stands, cargo nets, obstacles, zip lines etc....great family fun.
Michele and I are pleased to assist you with further information and introductions.

Something for kids of all ages. We can get you in touch with the most fantastic, elite traditional fly-fishing guides in Big Sky; HOWEVER....for you non-purests we have developed a WONDERFUL relationship with a local Chef who LOVES to take folks bait fishing on the Gallatin. Very Cost effective and extremely fun for everybody. Waders and wading in a fast river is NOT necessary when bait fishing. By the way...when bait fishing you catch real HOG fish. Really should give this a try!...moreless

Great Value for a Fantastic Area
Great Value for a Fantastic Area
My Mom and I went on a road trip from NC to Montana, then flew home last Friday. We stayed here for almost a week. I absolutely loved the view from the front porch (we did have to "borrow" the neighbors chairs because we had none- but I put them back when we left!). The hot tub on the porch was fantastic, especially after that long trip and on those cool summer nights. The gas grill was a life saver for those wonderful Montana steaks we grilled. The interior of the home was super clean and comfortable. The only complaint I have is that we had 3 light bulbs go out while we were there, and the property manager never made it by to change them out (one was in the lower bathroom, which made showering for my Mom a bit dark), but other than this, everything was spectacular! West Yellowstone is an hour away, Bozeman roughly 30 minutes, and Big Sky a mile down the road. Great location for a wonderful place. I definitely plan on returning as soon as they have an opening! You can't go wrong with this place! Enjoy!

Owner response: Thank you for your kind words and for the admonition to purchase some deck chairs. Our Family will be out there in 2 weeks and we will purchase some new chairs and be certain that the light bulb situation is corrected when we speak with Mariah....our onsite manager. If you book with us again, please remind us and we would be pleased to have a nice welcome basket prepared with some special treats in honor of your suggestions. During our family trip out to Big Sky we will be purchasing all new appliances and tile for the entry, kitchen and each bathroom!

This property was everything we hoped for and more! Beautifully decorated yet comfortable. As a family of six, including three young adult children, there was plenty of space to spread out. The location was convenient and we really enjoyed the Big Sky community. Lovely home in a beautiful area! The owners were responsive and great to work with! Highly recommend!

First time to Big Sky- We'll be back!!
Spent a week at this wonderful place- felt like home walking in the door. Everything clean and new/nearly new. The view in the pictures don't do it justice. Perfectly situated to get to big sky lifts (about 10 minutes drive) as well as shopping in big sky. Had minor problem with jacuzzi- fixed the same day. Had six adults and we had plenty of room and would easily accomodate 4-5 more. About 45 minutes to Bozeman as well. Beautiful place to visit and would love to live there!

Great Location, Great Deal, Great Owners
Great Location, Great Deal, Great Owners
We have stayed 3 times and have a 4th trip planned already. We can't say enough good things about the total experience from start to finish. Online description and photos were accurate. The property is clean, beautifully furnished and well-maintained and the owners have been most helpful in answering questions and concerns. We would highly recommend this property to friends and relatives.

Owner response: Thank you for your gracious comments. Our desire as owners is to use our Big Sky residence as a vehicle that is used to enrich our own family life as well as the family life and friendships of all who decide to rent. Maintaining the property and actively working with our renters to enhance their Big Sky expience is the means to our desired end. The new high speed Internet access in the residence has somehow enhanced our enjoyment of the solitude because we are better able to be connected to our business while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and change of pace in Big Sky. For the upcoming ski season, we intend to become Gold Members at Moonlight Basin which will allow us to provide access to the wonderful health club, spa, bar, dining facilities, equipment locker, and front door parking amenities of the Moonlight Lodge to all of our guests. Stay tuned.....this is going to be a fantastic new amenity that will kick your vacation satisfaction up to a whole new level!
This condo was every bit as nice as VRBO described it: roomy, comfortable, well-appointed. We had assumed it was not part of a group of condos, but a place by itself. I was personally disappointed with the management company; they were not as on top of things as I would have liked, had the property been mine. The Barnhills were gracious hosts, and we'd love to stay there again.

Six of us (three couples) visited Big Sky this past March for some R&R and a little skiing. If you've never been, you MUST make this destination a priority. WHEN (not if) you go, this home will do more than accomodate. It allowed us to comfortably spend time together in common areas, and provided us privacy when we needed it. We will be back to beautiful Big Sky, and we we come back, we will be staying here again! Thank you!!!

I stayed in this lovely townhouse with 5 of my friends and we found it to be spacious and beautifully appointed. There was plenty of room for all 6 of us to spread out comfortably. We especially enjoyed making meals in the well-equipped kitchen, building fires in the fireplace, and relaxing in the hot tub. The scenery from the townhouse was amazing and it is perfectly located for walks to the town centre or the falls up the road. We were there in late September and enjoyed going to Yellowstone, hiking, horseback riding, and trying out the many good restaurants in the area. We would definitly stay here again!

About the owner: Michele and I live in Minnesota, we have three children, and we have vacationed in Big Sky for more than 15 years. Big Sky is like a great marriage: you will fall in lust with it at first sight, it will grow on you, you will have many adventures, occasional hardships like getting lost while hiking or getting a federal speeding ticket in Yellowstone Park, or hitting an elk with your vehicle, you will create memories and while Michele and I have LOVED going to Big Sky, we have always LOVED going home....until this last trip with the kids in September, 2013. It is inexplicable...but we absolutely did NOT want to come home for the very first time ever. Our hearts are hooked by Montana. God's creation is truly magnificent!
Why the Owner Chose Meadow Village:
This coach home chalet was a 'test' purchase to see if our family could really fall in love with the area: It passed the test! We've had such a great experience that two years ago we also bought 20 acres of raw land just south of Big Sky where we intend to build a second home. Minnesota is beautiful but Montana is awe inspiring....renewing. Normally, it takes an ocean to renew and revive us but we have discovered that if you can get into the backcountry by hiking, fishing in remote locations along the Gallatin, riding a horse or yes...even mountain biking into the Porcupine wilderness, you will be revived. Riding a horse to the fire lookout station on top of Cinnamon Mountain is.....beyond words. You will feel blessed to be in the midst of such wilderness, such grander. We are part of something soooo much bigger than ourselves and our own little world in flatland, flyover territory in Minnesota. Minnesota is wonderful and the boundary waters wilderness is something most folks should experience....Montana is a place everybody should visit at least once.
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet:
We love the family-oriented environment. Big Sky is NOT Vail...it's a quiet Western town that just happens to be at the base of one of America's largest and most majestic mountains. Fishermen freak out over this country and skiers are elated because there are NO lift lines. We can't decide if we like it best in summer or winter. This country has sooooooooo very much to offer...and unlike Minnesota.....NO Mosquitoes! 2013 update: This is the owner's section and it's just Phil talking here....but I have made up my mind. While I LOVE to ski (both ways) and I enjoy an occasional romp on a fast snowmobile down in West Yellowstone....Summers in Big Sky have absolutely stolen my heart.
