Villa Serena is located in prestigious "Mission Highlands" just above the historic Sonoma Plaza. From the moment you begin the drive up High Road you will begin your journey into another world.
This luxury private residence, surrounded by majestic oaks, offers privacy with vistas over the Sonoma valley to Mt. Tamalpais in Marin County. Our home has been recently decorated and outfitted with stylish, yet comfortable furnishings. All rooms have cathedral ceilings, are filled with light and have stunning views of the hills or natural gardens. Relax in the warm, inviting living room with its stone wood-burning fireplace.
Dine in the solarium dining room, on the spacious view deck or around the pool - the choice is yours!!!! The fully equipped kitchen is open to the dining room and offers additional dining options. A large master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, as well as the cozy guest bedroom and bath, have luxurious bedding and linens.
The open den offers additional sleeping for two on the queen sleeper/sofa. The glorious pool, in its lush garden setting, beckons you on warm days and nights.

Why the Owner Chose Sonoma
It is only minutes from the historic Sonoma Plaza yet it has the feeling of being very secluded. We have been coming to Sonoma for the past 30 years and have stayed in many of the hotel resorts in the area. Now we have our own "resort" and can come anytime we want.
The Unique Benefits at this House
One of our favorite sounds are the wind chimes making music as the breezes flow up the valley. We can hear them from most rooms in the house and they give us a sense of calm.

We purchased our Sonoma vacation home last year. The minute we walked in and saw the view and experienced the calming effect of the property we knew it was for us. We have spent the past year making improvements, painting, furnishing and turning the house into our "home away from home". The town of Sonoma is so close to San Francisco and yet feels like you are in another country. It reminds us of parts of Italy with the rolling hills filled with vineyards. We love Villa Serena and have enjoyed the times we've spent here. We hope you will find the serenity that the name implies.

Villa Serena is absolutely beautiful. It is a secluded property but only 10 minutes from the square in Sonoma. It is a beautifully appointed home with a gorgeous deck and wonderful view. It is well suited for people who like to cook. This house has many well thought out amenities, including great towels and comfortable beds. It also includes a nice pool. It does have a lot of small steps since it is on many levels so it may not be suited for those with mobility issues. You also have to bring your luggage in from a side parking area versus the driveway which could be difficult for the elderly or disabled. I mention this only because I had a hip replacement and could not have navigated this before my surgery. We had a fabulous time here and hope to return.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, girls getaway.

Villa Serena exceeded our expectations - from the gorgeous views and tasteful decor to the attention to detail from the owners to ensure a comfortable stay. We were in Sonoma for a wedding so the getaway from NYC was a treat in itself, but the 4 nights at Villa Serena was the icing on the cake. We got groceries from the Whole Foods in town (less than a 10 minute drive) and had leisurely meals on the deck and the sunroom, lounged in the pool every day, and stared in awe at all of the stars at night. Getting to come back to Villa Serena after a day's adventures was wonderful! Will definitely stay here again.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

What a wonderful experience we had at your amazing, beautiful home!!!! We love Sonoma and the wine country but we wee so relaxed and comfortable at Villa Serena we found dit difficult to leave. We will be back, you can count on that.
