Custom built in 2002, this four bedroom/three and a half bathroom Craftsman-style residence offers all of the comforts of home with added modern amenities such as (HDTV, DIRECTV, surround sound, wireless DSL, and stainless steel appliances.)

Located in the “banana belt” of Carnelian Bay, the home is a short walk to the lake and Gar Woods restaurant (famous for their “Wet Woody’s”), the Old Post Office (yummy breakfast spot), and Patton Beach (one of the few dog friendly beaches at North Lake Tahoe.) During the summer, you would be able to walk to the famed Concours d’Elegance Wooden Boat Show, which takes place at the Sierra Boat Company.

Relax by the fire in the Great Room, which features a large stone fireplace, cherry hardwood floors, and a modern kitchen/bar area, which opens up to the living room, making it a perfect space for entertaining with family and friends. The kitchen offers stainless steel KitchenAid appliances (refrigerator, microwave, oven, dishwasher, 5-range gas cook top), beautiful granite counters and custom cherry wood cabinets.

In addition to the great room and kitchen, the top floor features a master suite with a custom-made, pine log California King bed, private deck with peak lake views and plenty of closet space. The suite also includes an adjoining master bathroom with slate floors and a large shower. Down the hall, there is another bedroom with two Pottery Barn mission-style double beds with its own full bathroom and tub. There is also a half bath on this floor.

Downstairs features a lovely bedroom with a California King bed and large closet. The second bedroom features a queen size bed and more closet space. Both rooms have access to a full size bathroom with a shower, tub and separate toilet . A laundry room with a washer and dryer and a coat closet is also on this level.

At the end of a sun-filled day, relax on the back deck in the six-person HotSpring spa overlooking the Tahoe National Forest. Or, grill on the front deck while taking in the beautiful lake views on the Weber gas controlled bar-b-que.

Additionally, the kids will love the fenced-in, fully landscaped backyard with a large redwood play structure and slide. When the kids are looking for something fun to do, you can walk them around the corner to the Magic Carpet miniature golf course followed by pizza at C.B.’s restaurant.

The location is centrally located between Tahoe City and Kings Beach, and surrounded by the world-class ski resorts of Squaw Valley USA, Alpine Meadows and Northstar. Only a ten-minute drive to the casinos in Crystal Bay, NV, and a few more miles to the Hyatt Regency Resort and Casino in Incline Village. Renowned golf courses are abundant, prepare for some fun, high altitude afternoons. Fabulous restaurants dot the entire North Shore of Lake Tahoe, so bring your appetite and enjoy!

  • We just returned from a wonderful weekend at the Barber home in Carnelian Bay. We didn't want to leave! The house was everything we had hoped for - spacious yet cozy, warm and inviting, right near the lake and walking distance to restaurants as well. There were six of us (who enjoyed the hot tub) plus one child (who loved the swing set in the yard) and the house could have easily held another couple with children. We plan to return if we can (and we don't say that about every place that we have rented on VRBO!)

  • This home is extraordinarily nice from a location, design, landscaping and features perspective. The home is very well constructed and the interior design and woodwork are outstanding. The kitchen/family room is such a great area for all kinds of interaction with family and guests. This leads right out to the hot tub and a fantastic backyard that is nicely landscaped including a playset and fenced yard. The bedrooms are very nice and comfortable with amenities close by for everyone. Home is nicely decorated as well. I would stay here as often as possible. Thank you Laura.

  • If Travel and Leisure had a rental section this house should be in it! Tastefully decorated with pottery barn-arts and crafts- style and beautifully built home with lots of custom touches. I have stayed in mainy shabby rentals and this is NOT one of them. Great balcony deck with huge cedar dining picnic table and propane bbq. partial lake view. We stayed here with 4 children ages 1 -5 years old and it was perfect! The kids loved the big grassy lawn and playground in the backyard. Hot tub on deck was perfect as it overlooked the yard. I could wash dishes and watch kids tubbing. The best part is that 2 rooms are downstairs and 2 rooms upstairs and they are big rooms with separate bathrooms so 2 families can stay at the house with privacy. Husband liked the quiet location. I like the EASY walk to minature golf, pebble beach across the road and pizza place a stones throw away. Short drive to Kings Beach and Sandy Beach. Owner left lots of towels and house seemed brand new. Bring your own food and cooking supplies as you may need it. We did use the baby high chair, playpen and Bob jogger for walks. Next time I will bring air mattress to accomodate more sleeping arrangements as there are no bunk beds or trundles. Steep staircase off deck to get to yard but there is a baby gate.

  • Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. We loved the house - it's so tastefully decorated, so very comfortable, in a great location and immaculate. We loved being able to walk to the beach and nearby restaurants as well as being such a short distance from other nearby beaches and activities. My granddaughter ( and her parents) enjoyed using the stroller, counter seat, porta-crib and play structure in the backyard. Late afternoon lounges in the hot tub on the back deck followed by grilled dinners on the front deck made each day memorable. We hope to make our Tahoe vacation an annual family event and would love to rent your house again. There was plenty of room for the all of us and a good time was had by all.
