The location is centrally located between Tahoe City and Kings Beach, and surrounded by the world-class ski resorts of Squaw Valley USA, Alpine Meadows and Northstar. This home has everything for the young family to the senior set. The area is beautiful and walking distance to everything as listed. We enjoyed the toddler supplies that were provided and we didn't have to pack. The beds were all comfortable and the bathrooms are very nice. I would recommend this to any large family or 2 small families. Lots of privacy areas and yet comfortable group seating. The decor was perfect for the "cabin" feel yet very new and easy to use. Thank you for opening this home as a rental...we look forward to returning!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We enjoyed a very relaxing three day family vacation. The beach is just a couple minute walk and so is the 7/11 which came in handy. The house easily accommodated two families and we really enjoyed the privacy the layout offered. The hot tub was fun for all and the owner has slippers stocked with the beach towels which was a plus. The kitchen had every amenity we needed. Loved the wood burning fireplace. Hope we can stay again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are pleased you enjoyed your stay, and we do hope you can come back again at some point in the future. Thanks so much!

I organized a birthday party and ski trip with the Lakeview Retreat as home base. The owners very responsive and helpful throughout the booking process and our stay at the cabin. The cabin comfortably accommodated our group of eight people with beds and a well-appointed kitchen. Wifi internet and satellite TV both worked well, which helped those in our group who didn't ski during the day or had to put in some hours on work. All the bathrooms and bedrooms were clean and there were plenty of extra blankets, pillows, and towels. The hot tub was also very well-kept and clean; it was awesome having it to relax in after a long day of skiing. Cabin location is great - walking distance to several restaurants and an easy 20 minute drive to three different ski resorts. I would highly recommend staying here and definitely plan on considering this property for the next trip.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We loved our stay at this house. The owners were very responsive to all questions, starting with the initial inquiry, all the way through our stay. We spent 3 nights there with our 3 young kids, 2 in-laws, and a brother. The bedrooms were superbly organized (2 up, perfect for us in the master and the kids in the 2nd bdrm), and 2 down, where my in-laws and brother-in-law slept. Plenty of space. The gourmet kitchen - open dining room - living room set-up was awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, as well as views of the lake. Hope to come back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Flexible, understanding and nice. 3 words to describe the Barbers. Amazing Place, amazing Location, amazing hot tub. 3 ways to describe their home. Great home for families or couples. The home is split into 2 main levels, but the rooms are separate from the common areas to provide quiet/retreat from the group if needed. Very nice kitchen, plenty of bathrooms, very cool decks/views. Easy access to both Northstar and Squaw. Literally a 4 minute walk to Garwoods - which came in handy for our grip on New Years Eve. Thanks to Laura!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and I stayed at the Lakewood retreat. First of all the house is in a a great location and is beautifully build. Our party was four adults and two kids. It met our needs perfectly with room for more. We loved taking the kids to miniture Golf and taking trips around the lake. Although the food at Gar Woods was not great, the atmosphere and the view was fantastic and it was also nice to be able to walk to GW as well as the 7Eleven around the corner and the local Pizzeria (CB's Pizza) which the kids loved. We also enjoyed BBQing on the deck and using the hot-tub. This is a great family vacation home and we will be back. Laura was very helpful and friendly. Thank you Laura for letting us use your lovely home.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We (four couples) had a fantastic time in this house -- it's exactly what we were looking for. The kitchen is well-equipped, the living room is spacious and comfortable, and the bedrooms afford ample privacy. The hot tub is hot. The house is a short drive from three major ski resorts and a short walk from the lake, but it still feels reasonably secluded and woodsy. The owners were a pleasure to work with throughout the rental process! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

What a beautiful home! Every little detail of this house has been thought out perfectly. The floor plan is perfect for multiple families; everyone can have their little space. We did a snow dance and although it didn't work, we were able to do some quality sledding in the backyard with the snow that was already there. The hot tub was great, the kitchen well stocked and the fireplace lit up the room. We hope to return soon and hope for more snow.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

My family rented this house with a group of friends. We had a fabulous time. The house was very nicely decorated and super clean. It is in a great location and you can see the lake from the living room window. The great room is really nice for a group atmosphere. The play area in the back yard is great for kids. We had a beautiful snowy day and we were able to sled in the back yard. The owner is very nice and super easy to work with. I highly recommend this house for your next Tahoe vacations.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We rented this home for a Thanksgiving vacation and it was great! The layout was perfect for our group, 3 couples and 3 small children. We were able to put the kids in one room and the adults had their own rooms. The kitchen opened into the living and dining room and was great for everyone to gather and hangout. The cabin had all the modern touches but still had the charm of a Tahoe cabin. Location was perfect--close to the lake, shopping, and the resorts. The owners were super friendly and helpful. We were definifely happy with the rental. We highly recommend and will be back again!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
