We (four couples) had a fantastic time in this house -- it's exactly what we were looking for. The kitchen is well-equipped, the living room is spacious and comfortable, and the bedrooms afford ample privacy. The hot tub is hot. The house is a short drive from three major ski resorts and a short walk from the lake, but it still feels reasonably secluded and woodsy. The owners were a pleasure to work with throughout the rental process! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

What a beautiful home! Every little detail of this house has been thought out perfectly. The floor plan is perfect for multiple families; everyone can have their little space. We did a snow dance and although it didn't work, we were able to do some quality sledding in the backyard with the snow that was already there. The hot tub was great, the kitchen well stocked and the fireplace lit up the room. We hope to return soon and hope for more snow.

My family rented this house with a group of friends. We had a fabulous time. The house was very nicely decorated and super clean. It is in a great location and you can see the lake from the living room window. The great room is really nice for a group atmosphere. The play area in the back yard is great for kids. We had a beautiful snowy day and we were able to sled in the back yard. The owner is very nice and super easy to work with. I highly recommend this house for your next Tahoe vacations.

We had the opportunity to stay in this beautiful cabin just before Christmas. As a designer myself, I appreciated the architectural details in keeping with the Craftsman style of the house. The kitchen/ great room was large and open with a comfortable sectional sofa and wood burning fireplace. The gourmet kitchen and walk in pantry had everything we needed to prepare and enjoy home cooked meals. The bathrooms were top notch and the master bathroom shower was spa-like. The bedrooms were private and like the previous reviews state...the beds were amazingly comfortable! There was a free rec center just a block away with a pool table and air hockey for the teenagers. A pizza place and 7-11 were within walking distance, too. We really enjoyed our stay at this fabulous cabin and we are looking forward to returning in the future. I HIGHLY recommend the Carnelian Lakeview Retreat! Thanks Laura for a fantastic stay.

Cozy and Relaxing

My husband and I went up with 3 other couples just to hang out, play games and eat, which is exactly what we did:) The home is very comfortable and clean and we had everything we needed to fulfill our jammycation goals. The guys loved the hot tub, while the women still can't quite figure out the allure of boiling yourself in hot water. There is a Safeway close by and you can walk to the lake. The living and kitchen area is perfect for a group and the bedrooms are quite private. We really enjoyed our stay.

We rented this home for a Thanksgiving vacation and it was great! The layout was perfect for our group, 3 couples and 3 small children. We were able to put the kids in one room and the adults had their own rooms. The kitchen opened into the living and dining room and was great for everyone to gather and hangout. The cabin had all the modern touches but still had the charm of a Tahoe cabin. Location was perfect--close to the lake, shopping, and the resorts. The owners were super friendly and helpful. We were definifely happy with the rental. We highly recommend and will be back again!!

A Wonderful Tahoe Retreat!

Two families, four adults and five kids, all fit comfortably in this wonderul Tahoe retreat for an entire week! We ate all our meals out on the deck enjoying the view of the lake. We spent afternoons relaxing in the large enclosed yard with plenty of adventure for the kids climbing the rock path, or swinging and sliding on the play structure. A lovely little rocky beach and mini-golf were within walking/stroller distance. Evenings (after the kids were asleep) were spent in the hot tub looking up at the stars through the treetops. This wonderful home was everything we could have hoped for and more!! There were plenty of dishes and kitchen accessories. Each of the bathrooms came with a roll or two of toilet paper. There was even detergent in the laundry room! We had brought much of this stuff with us, since prior rentals did not include these items, but still were pleasantly surprised at the effort the owners went to to make it feel like a home and not a rental. The owners were very friendly and dealt with us directly (no having to hassle with a property management office or picking up/dropping off keys). We will definitely consider staying here again the next time we holiday in Tahoe!

Amazing Weekend

The home was everything we expected and more. The amenities were great, kitchen was fully stocked with everything that we needed, and the beds were very comfortable (something I would expect in my home). We will definitely be coming back here for our future Tahoe trips.

New Year Treat!

We spent a fabulous NY holiday with our adult children and significant others at this great house. The house is perfect for families of all ages. Spascious kitchen and great room with a large dinning table, stone fireplace, decks front and back. Perfect location with easy access to the lake and slopes. We so enjoyed the hot tub after glorious days of sledding and sking. My favorite time was early in the morning watching the sun rise over the lake from the great room and front deck. Laura was so helpful with suggestions for activities and restaurants of which there are many good ones. Lots of comfy beds to climb into at the end of a great day. Would love to return in the summer. Thanks!

Great House For Family Get Together

We rented this house for a week in August for a family get together and it is a great vacation house. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. The play structure in back was a hit with my 8 year old grandaughter and 4 year old niece. The kitchen was well stocked and there is a lake view from the front deck. The house was very clean. The house is within walking distance of Garwood's and the miniature golf course and very centrally located to King's Beach and Tahoe City. The owners were very easy to deal with and most accommodating. The only complaint I would voice is the lack of any chaise lounges on the front deck.

Summer Renter

If you are a true Tahoe fanatic this is the property for you. We have been coming up to Tahoe for our summer vacation for over two decades. We love to spend the days at Meeks Bay and Sand Harbour, as well as mini golfing and rafting. This was the ideal loction for these activities. The cabin is located equal distance from the two most pristine beaches in Tahoe as well as a brief walk to a great mini golf coarse and a very convient 7-11. It's also a quick hop to Tahoe City for biking and rafting excursions. We loved spending our nights on the beautiful balcony overlooking majestic trees and the lake itself. If this sounds ideal, then this is THE cabin. Impeccably maintained, it held two families very comfortably. It had all the amenities including the ever important late afteroon balcony; We had dinner ever night out there and soaked up the last of the Tahoe sunshine. For small children the fully enclosed backyard was a safe and fun place to adventure. We would be delighted to book this cabin in the future! Two Thumbs Up!

A WEEK IN HEAVEN

We just returned from a week in the Barber house...It was fantastic...the location is awesome and the recommendations that Laura provided were right on target. We had 10 adults and there was plenty of room for us to sleep, cook , hang out and park the cars. I highly recommend this location for anyone looking to have fun in the lake Tahoe area...

Dear Laura: Just wanted to thank you - we had a great time at your tahoe house. It was perfect. Sledded down olive st. Yesterday afternoon into the evening. About 18 inches fell at lake level. All good fun. We would definitely come back to your house and will keep you in mind for future tahoe trips. PS: my only request/suggestion for future: board games :-). We couldn't find any.

This home has everything for the young family to the senior set. The area is beautiful and walking distance to everything as listed. We enjoyed the toddler supplies that were provided and we didn't have to pack. The beds were all comfortable and the bathrooms are very nice. I would recommend this to any large family or 2 small families. Lots of privacy areas and yet comfortable group seating. The decor was perfect for the "cabin" feel yet very new and easy to use. Thank you for opening this home as a rental...we look forward to returning!

We just returned from a wonderful weekend at the Barber home in Carnelian Bay. We didn't want to leave! The house was everything we had hoped for - spacious yet cozy, warm and inviting, right near the lake and walking distance to restaurants as well. There were six of us (who enjoyed the hot tub) plus one child (who loved the swing set in the yard) and the house could have easily held another couple with children. We plan to return if we can (and we don't say that about every place that we have rented on VRBO!)

This home is extraordinarily nice from a location, design, landscaping and features perspective. The home is very well constructed and the interior design and woodwork are outstanding. The kitchen/family room is such a great area for all kinds of interaction with family and guests. This leads right out to the hot tub and a fantastic backyard that is nicely landscaped including a playset and fenced yard. The bedrooms are very nice and comfortable with amenities close by for everyone. Home is nicely decorated as well. I would stay here as often as possible. Thank you Laura.

If Travel and Leisure had a rental section this house should be in it! Tastefully decorated with pottery barn-arts and crafts- style and beautifully built home with lots of custom touches. I have stayed in mainy shabby rentals and this is NOT one of them. Great balcony deck with huge cedar dining picnic table and propane bbq. partial lake view. We stayed here with 4 children ages 1 -5 years old and it was perfect! The kids loved the big grassy lawn and playground in the backyard. Hot tub on deck was perfect as it overlooked the yard. I could wash dishes and watch kids tubbing. The best part is that 2 rooms are downstairs and 2 rooms upstairs and they are big rooms with separate bathrooms so 2 families can stay at the house with privacy. Husband liked the quiet location. I like the EASY walk to minature golf, pebble beach across the road and pizza place a stones throw away. Short drive to Kings Beach and Sandy Beach. Owner left lots of towels and house seemed brand new. Bring your own food and cooking supplies as you may need it. We did use the baby high chair, playpen and Bob jogger for walks. Next time I will bring air mattress to accomodate more sleeping arrangements as there are no bunk beds or trundles. Steep staircase off deck to get to yard but there is a baby gate.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. We loved the house - it's so tastefully decorated, so very comfortable, in a great location and immaculate. We loved being able to walk to the beach and nearby restaurants as well as being such a short distance from other nearby beaches and activities. My granddaughter ( and her parents) enjoyed using the stroller, counter seat, porta-crib and play structure in the backyard. Late afternoon lounges in the hot tub on the back deck followed by grilled dinners on the front deck made each day memorable. We hope to make our Tahoe vacation an annual family event and would love to rent your house again. There was plenty of room for the all of us and a good time was had by all.
