This 30m2, 2nd floor, 1 bedroom apartment was designed and furnished by a designer friend of the American owner.
The designer has divided the flat in 3 main spaces :
- a living/dining room with integrated kitchen
- a calm and convenient bedroom
- and a nice stone tiled bathroom.
The living room is extremely bright thanks to its 2 large windows. Facing the windows is a select stone building with nice bow windows.
The kitchen is fully integrated. A table/bar specially designed has drawers opening on both ends. Its tray may be set long or short.
The rest of the furniture is of the same style and wood material. Finally, a large mirror reflects the light and widens the room.
In between the living room and the bedroom, the Japanese style entrance is a transition space. It received the custom built wardrobe.
The bedroom receives light from the two sides, bedroom windows and the transparent panel separating bedroom and entrance.
Bathroom offers a nice bath tub. It is designed with modern style sink and toilets. All the floor and walls are covered with stone tiles. The bathroom has a large window that brings sun lights into the bath.
As a bonus, Phone calls to land lines in France, and to US, Canada and australia are generaly free. It is also true for more than 50 countries. More over, calls to cell phones towards specific countries (often US & Canada) may also be free. Ask us for detail as it may vary with time and policies of operators.
The rue CHAPPE, where the apt is located, gives on a large and steep stairs on the left. The SACRE COEUR gardens are 2 mn walking distance.
The apt is located in the inner Montmartre: Les abbesses. The trendy part of Montmartre is just down the street : many restaurants, shops and nice café terraces. The ABBESSES subway station is 2 mn walk. This location is a perfect base to visit Paris. It stays 15 minute by subway to most interesting Paris locations AND is a very charming and restful area to be appreciated after a whole day shopping and walking through museums.
Last point, we are staying 1 block away. We are here if you need help.

Wonderful stay in Montmartre

The apartment was exactly as advertised, only better! Very clean, filled with light, and all of the appliances and WiFi worked perfectly. In addition, the bed was exceptionally comfortable and the kitchen big enough to fix a four-course meal. Location-wise, the apartment is also ideal: you are located about 50 yards from the steps leading to the Sacre Coeur. Despite the close proximity to the church, the street is very quiet, and doesn't get too many tourists. And there are tons of grocers and shops around, along with some of the most beautiful views in the city. Management is great - very helpful and provided clear instructions for finding keys, operating appliances, et al. They also refunded my deposit promptly. The only thing I would caution about is that because this is an old building, you can hear people come and go, so if you are a light sleeper, you may want to use earplugs. I did, and slept well. All in all, I would definitely recommend the apartment to anybody who wants to enjoy Paris for all it's worth.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Apartment is located just a minute walk from Sacré Cœur, in the heart of Montmartre area. You can reach Abbesses, Pigalle or Anvers metro stations in couple of minutes and get anywhere in 15-20 minutes (forget bus in Paris - it's slow). There are cozy restaurants and bars in the area, or you can just chill at the top of the hill - get a bottle of vine and enjoy street music - Sacré Cœur area is always full of people relaxing at the open. Most of the shops nearby are for tourists (regular crap), but also you can find great shops with hand-crafted and selected merchandise. Pharmacy, grocery, bakery, and small supermarket in 3-min walk; you can buy wine and beer after midnight! Apartment is relatively small but comfortable. Perfect for two, or couple with one child, but not for 3 adults (there are no doors between kitchen and bedroom). Very well equipped, bright, calm and relatively quiet (having in mind it's near very crowded area). There is solid queen size bed, and we slept well. Only issue was sealed window in the bedroom (not a big problem in May). Bathroom is faultless. You'll have everything you need (4mbps WiFi, TV/Audio/etc), including best restaurant in the area at your doorstep - Les Part des Anges (charming, quiet, great food, reasonable prices). We had a great time in Rue Chappe. Overall, very good value for money. Jean-Noel, manager, was helpful. I hope they'll fix those small annoyances (window, wardrobe) next time I came back!

We enjoyed our stay at this Montmartre apartment. It was fun to feel like part of a real neighbourhood. We learned how to utilize the bus routes but the metro is also convenient to use. We liked being able to prepare some meals and take advantage of the wonderful food shops and bakeries! The apartment was quiet at night and we slept well. The apartment was clean and Jean Noel was very helpful when we had questions. We would recommend this apartment.

This apartment is perfectly located in the 18th district. The apartment is literally steps away from stairs that lead to Sacre Couer Church (also good for a cardio workout too). Perfect for two people. The owner was very responsive when I only called him to report that the coffee pot holder was cracked. Within hours, a new coffee pot was delivered to the apartment (still in the box). The apartment is clean and close to several metro stations, restaurants with good food, and shopping. We shall return in the fall :)
