Why the Owner Chose Summerland Key
We like this location because it is a quiet, and relaxing, "kick back" life style in the Florida Keys. We're close enough to experience the hustle and bustle of Key West, yet far enough away to enjoy the serenity annd peace that the Florida Keys has to offer...Not to mention it is also located in a sub tropical region that we call home and Paradise!
The Unique Benefits at this House
We enjoy boating, fishing, crabbing and lobsteriing in clear blue waters of the Atlantic and Gulf oceans. Relaxing and watching some of the most beautiful sunsets we've ever seen, starry nights and if you love the Nightlife... there is also Key West.

We decided to eleviate the decision of who's family to spend the holiday with this year. We headed for Miami and then kept going. The drive was about 2.5 hours (easy driving) from Miami and we arrived to a beautiful house with a picture perfect view down the canal. We were worried that Summerland Key might be a bit far from all the other activities to do...wrong, while there's little to do on Summerland (which is actually awesome) it's only 15-25 min to everything else. Wake up, drop the kayak in the water paddle around and then jump on the car and catch the sunset in Key West. We couldn't ask for more. The house, porch and tiki bar are in good shape. Household items are in good condition. Most everything we needed was provided. The only problem I had was getting my Girlfriend to leave when the trip was up. Thanks for a great vacation!
Owner response:Thank you for the review Matt. Glad you had a great time. Wish you would have listened to your Girlfriend and stayed longer. Can not believe it is 82 degrees today (Just might get a white Christmas). Thanks a million and i wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Skip and Bonnie

Had a great time and enjoyed all the activities around the house. I like like the fact it was a short walk to a gas station (beer and ice) and only a couple miles to Winn Dixie. Looe Key and Picnic Island were a short run on the boat. The house was filled with everything which would make you feel at home. Bonnie was very compromising and always answered calls.
Owner response:We appreciate the comments and are so happy that you had such a wonderful time, we look forward to your next visit! Living in Paradise is wonderful!

The house, location, property owners, awesome. Put this on your wish list, travel plans, bucket list, etc. We had an incredible time here with Gunner Skip and his soulmate Bonnie and daughter Savannah. Everthing about The Keys, The people, The food(Big Pine Restaurant) the everyday activities and our vacation in general were truly mind blowing. Skip and Bonnie are truly incredible. ( and i'm not saying this because he's my best friend & brother) . Everyone said this was the best vacation ever. (and we travel a lot) Love yall
Owner response:Thanks so much for the kind words of appreciation. We love all of you and miss you already. Looking soo forward to next year woot, woot... PARADISE INDEED!!!

Great location on Summerland Key Island, convenient to everything. Great sunsets on the porch, deep water for my 25' Parker. Boone Docks and Looe Key Tiki Bars almost walking distance with live music almost every night and great happy hour specials. Great fishing in this area and spear fishing water is crystal clear like the Bahamas. Thank you Bonnie and Skip for letting us use your beautiful vacation home. One of the few nice homes that lets you bring your dog. Highly Recommended!!!
Owner response:Thank You for you review, We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay. As a fellow "Parker 2520" brother I can attest to your good taste. Bonnie and I where worried about your sail home due to the north wind that sprung up. We are also where very pleased that you left the house so "spick and span" clean. You should have received your full deposit by now. Thanks a million. Skip and Bonnie

We loved it! Brought our own 22' boat and went fishing and snorkling 6 out of 7 days. Perfect place to stay if you want to bring your boat. Plenty of space to park truck and boat trailer. Bait, tackle, and gas on your way out to open water. Able to leave boat in water the whole time. Close by - Looe Key - is awesome for snorkling. Skip and Bonnie (owners) were great. Had plenty of space and comfort (4 adults and medium dog). Grilled our "catch of the day" on the grill on the deck outside the dinning area. Bahia Honda and Key Deer close by (visited them both the one day we didn't go out on the boat). Overall great experience. Hope to be able to go back again some day...
Owner response: We are happy and delighted that you enjoyed the simplicity of this place we call home "Paradise". As you mentioned there is ample room for the boat and you can also enjoy many sights around the Lower keys that aren't accesible by water, the Key Deer are so Cute! You will remember the experiences here for a lifetime and we look forward to your return. Skip & Bonnie

Really had a Great Time at Skip's house. Excellent location, close to everything but still far enough off the main drag to feel secluded. Really enjoyed the Hot-Tub and Kayak/Canoes. Updated appliances and Tile floors made it a breeze to clean up when departing. Skip and Bonnie go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and that they are there to help anyway they can. Even hooked us up with enough lobster for our entire party. Hope to visit again!
Owner response:So very elated that you all had such a great time.

I rented this place with my girlfriend and our 2 black labs from Nov 6th thru the 13th, and it was fantastic. As everyone else who wrote a review mentioned, the pictures don't really do this place justice. It's nice, clean, cozy, easy to find, and just a generally comfortable house. I rented a boat for the time we were down there, and it was great to not have to trailer it into and out of the water everyday. The house itself was clean, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything you would need, and the downstairs tiki bar and stereo were really great. The hot tub is out there on the deck near the water, and worked fine, just make sure you turn the heat up a few hours before you want to use it. It's in a beautiful spot on the corner of the canal, made for easy docking. The view down the canal from the deck was really nice, and having the grill right there on the deck was nice too. The snorkeling at Looe Key was awesome, the Key West nightlife is always great. I'm planning on getting back there as soon as I can, and for at least twice as long next time. We came back totally relaxed, and in a great state of mind.
Owner response:All i can say, Mark, is I asked you to stay a little longer. Thanks a million for the review and I am elated that your stay was a great one. No Shoes , No Shirt, No Problem.....Life is Good!
