  This is a beautiful home and the owners have literally thought of everything to include in their home! The home is exactly like the pictures and very clean! My sister in law and husband are already looking to book with this property next time they come to Hawaii. I felt comfortable in the house and love the fact that the ocean is steps away.

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

  We had a fantastic time at Hale Ke Kai, and Cheryl and John were just wonderful. They let us borrow surfboards, boogey boards, and all sorts of beach gear. John showed my husband how to open a coconut and drink the water, and he went up their palm tree to get a frond for my husband to weave a basket! The island was covered in rain for a couple of days, and Ewa Beach was the only area with no rain! The only complaint my family had was the early morning rooster-it was a challenge to sleep once he started going. All in all a great stay!

  Listing description of rental was accurate regarding location as well as listing photos shown and property was clean and well maintained. The owner was very helpful in answering our questions and concerns. We would highly recommend to friends and relatives. If and when we return to the islands again we would definetly see about staying here again. We shared this rental with brother and sister-in-law and it worked out perfect for our needs.

  Months ago, I started looking for homes in the Ewa Beach area and I didn't book one...I don't know why! When I went back to the ones I had bookmarked; they were ALL booked. One day I stumbled upon this vrbo property and fell in <3! It was meant for us to stay here. The description is NOT accurate *READ CAREFULLY~ it does not give enough credit and the pix don't do it justice! The location was great- 200+ steps to the beach and in a quiet area of homes. The property was immaculate and very well stocked. The owners went above and beyond their duties to make us feel at home and responded to our needs SO quickly. We hosted a last minute get together and my family (they are all local to the area) raved about the house! My 2 yr old grandson cried when we arrived back in ATL and said "NOOOOO Kalani's house!" (that is what he referred to Hale I Ke Kai as...HIS house). Read the reviews-they are true; there is a TON of beach gear to use NO JOKE! Even sunscreen:-) Zippys, stores, gas stations, McDonalds etc everything was nearby, There are some games and books for kids to play with and books (cookbooks too) for the bigger folks.I don't know what to add (that other guests haven't already said) **IF YOU ARE STILL SEARCHING FOR PROPERTIES STOP!! You won't find a better one with more attentive owners. Hale I Ke Kai sets the bar high. Hale I Ke Kai is in the perfect spot~ we never had to drive far. We went to the North Shore, Arizona Memorial, swap meet at Aloha Stadium, Ko Olina, Waikele Outlets, Waimanalo, Nimitz Beach, Laie and Waikiki- all were easy drives! We are already planning a return trip to Hawaii and hopefully John and Cheryl will be kind enough to host us for a second time! ****For those with small children~ I recommend visiting the Ko Olina lagoons. The water is much calmer and easier for the little kids to swim in.

  There were 7 of us and the house had plenty of room. Cheryl and family are the kindest most welcoming people you will ever meet. The place has everything you need for the kitchen, BBQ and beach. The house itself is decorated tropical and they did not leave out a detail...sooo cute!! We used boogie boards and chairs and spare snorkel gear and it was awesome. The only thing I would say is that the neighborhood is a good ole fashioned Ewe Beach neighborhood. Houses are close together and some run-down. We could hear some activity at night, but Cheryl was so kind to let us know that she would talk to any neighbors if they stayed up too late. It does not have a resort feel, but I personally liked that better. The "tourists" can have the fancy hotels...this will give you a chance to mix with the locals. It is about 30 minutes from Waikiki without traffic.

  This little home is filled with personal and gracious touches. The next door owner neighbor family could not be more welcoming. Their personal touches are abundant in each room and in the lovely backyard. The car port cupboards overflow with beaching supplies for children of all ages! The kitchen cupboards too overflowed with tools and serving pieces for all our family gatherings. This is a true family setting, unpretentious and casual welcoming to families with members of any age. We loved renewing our acquaintance with Foodland, Hawaii's original super market and the Costco is one of the best anywhere. The nearby beach is manageable for body surfing, though, of course, small children will require close attention. Views reaching down to Diamond Head and the far west point of Oahu seem infinite. A nearby golf course proved affordable and just challenging enough and later outings to 2 courses further afield are arresting in their beauty. My family joins me in hoping we'll return to Hale I Ke Kai again next year.

  Our family of four, as well as our kids' auntie, just spent 9 days at Hale I Ke Kai. We found the house to be very clean, comfortable and suitable for us. It became our home away from home! The directions were thorough and easy to find from the airport. John and Cheryl and family were perfect hosts and made us feel welcome to stay at the house. It really helped that they live right next door! The front and back yards, as it shows in the pictures, have lots of foliage and makes it comfortable to sit at the patio table. The pictures show the open, airy rooms, just as they really are. We loved the feeling of experiencing Hawaii in a more unique way, rather than staying in a hotel. We would definitely recommend Hale I Ke Kai to friends and relatives. All in all it was a wonderful vacation, their hospitality helped make it that way!

  My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. The house and it's history was everything we were looking for. The vibe and energy of the house are a product of owners Cheryl and John. They were very warm, friendly and always available if we had any concerns. The house itself was very well stocked for our family who likes to cook at home. The beach closet has everything you need to have a great day at the beach. The grounds include fruit trees and grassy areas to play in and the Portuguese horsehoes is a great game. The neighborhood is really for locals and away from the tourist feel. Their is beach access less than a stones throw and other beaches not to far from this house. Kapolei has all the conveniences of the mainland a short drive away. We hope to return to this home in the future.

  Our family recently spent 10 days at Hale I Ke Kai and found it to be truly a 'home away from home'. We thoroughly enjoyed hanging out in the bright inviting living room. The well stocked kitchen and backyard grill provided us the opportunity to prepare meals at home nearly every evening. Cheryl and John were so accommodating offering beach and surfing gear as well as bikes and basketballs. They were always willing to help with anything to make our stay pleasant. We saw some incredible sunsets on the beach that was literally a 3 minute walk away. One comment was has nothing to do with the house itself was that there is a shooting range nearby which usually could be heard as early as 7am. It didn't diminish our enjoyment during our time there - just something to be aware of.
