Such an adorable home, ideally suited for 4-6 people. Close to downtown, very convenient location for walking into town. We wish we had known how loud the traffic would be. The quaintness of this beautiful, old historic home also meant that it had single-pane windows and we had to synchronize our bed-time with the flow of traffic to maximize our rest....traffic starts very early and it is right outside the window. The property is immaculate and comfortable and if you are accustomed to the noises of the city, this is the stay for you.

What an incredible place to stay. This was far better than a hotel stay and a great location. There is ample room for everyone and the common area is very comfortable as well. The kitchen may not be modern, and that's ok, because it is equipped with everything you need to make simple meals. This place took me back to the days when I would visit my grandparents at their home ... very much the same warm feelings right when I walked through the door. The place was clean and the linens were superb. Downtown was just blocks away and once we got there we really didn't need to drive anywhere. The bus routes were very easy to follow as well. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to spend a long weekend or longer.

Booking the home was very easy. Kate is one of the friendliest people i have talked to . She is very prompt in her replies and also very helpful . About the home : It is a very cozy nice home . Kitchen was very well stocked with utensils and other necessities. It is quite close to downtown . There is outdoor seating and a grill too. We ran into a coupld of hiccups : 1) The master suite did not have any central heating . And there were no space heaters in the home the first night. So the room was pretty cold since it was december and we had small kids. But Kate immediately provided a space heater as soon as i talked to her the next morning . She is really very prompt. 2) We noticed a lot of bugs in the master bedroom . Looked like lady bugs. They were crawling close to the ceiling . Kate mentioned they are usually outside the house and the house is treated periodically for them . SInce we had little kids we were a little concerned Overall we were happy with the home and would stay there again .
Owner response:I do thank my tenant for her kind review! Rest assured, the suite was an add-on... new and very nice. The space heater is our remedy! As for the comment on the critters, tends to be in the winter and the home is treated every 90 days for all such critters! I do hope to hear from you in hopes that you come and stay! Kindly, Kate

Everything was as advertised - a great location for us to join with multiple family members for Thanksgiving feast and birthday celebrations. Clean, pleasantly decorated, nicely furnished. Comfortable beds. The only thing I would have liked to see is more kitchen equipment (measuring cups, measuring spoons, dish towels, etc.), but with all the fine restaurants in the area we were happy to eat about 1/2 of our meals out. Favorite restaurant - Trattoria Vittoria, 30 E. Victoria Street Favorite Coffee - Handlebars, 128 E. Canon Perdido Favorite activity - beach walks

The house was just as described and more. It was maticulously clean, stylishly decorated and very spacious. The young adults in our family had such a great time they often opted to stay at the house and hang out on the patio. We had a great time bbq'ing, riding bikes, walking downtown, and speding our days at the beach. This was a well deserved family vacation and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Working with Kate was simple, easy and a great experience. We can't wait to return!

Wow, wow, and more wow! I've traveled across the world and have been truly blessed to stay in many five-star hotels and/or resorts...and I have to say, this beautiful home lived up to all of those standards and more. The character itself is incredible and surpassed all of our expectations. I came to Santa Barbara for a wonderful girls' getaway holiday weekend and this property could not have been any better. There were 12 of us ladies and we rented both available properties (both duplexes) which turned out wonderfully. Everyone had their own space, but when we all wanted to be together there is an extremely spacious living room where we all gathered to enjoy each other's company. The close proximity to downtown was a HUGE advantage. We walked everywhere! It's simply two blocks from State Street, close to the move theater, next to coffee shops, a short walk to the beach, etc. This alone saved us a TON of money on cab fare and sanity regarding transporting 12 ladies! The home is updated, yet maintains the character of the quaint downtown. There's an outdoor patio area that we found ourselves "hanging out" in many evenings while enjoying the wonderful Santa Barbara weather. Upon leaving the home, many of the ladies requested the details on how to rent this place as they plan on coming back with their families, especially since this property is affordable. Every one who came has different taste, as well as traveling tactics and yet the home appealed to all of us. On top of the house itself being incredible, the property manager, Kate is great. Anything we needed was handled in a prompt and efficient manner. In fact, my husband and I went to Santa Barbara a month earlier to check out the area, and Kate happily met us on Saturday morning just so we could view the property. Talk about great service! Long story short, this has been one of my best traveling experiences and I hope that many more people get the opportunity to vacation like this also.
