Built in 1888, our cozy Victorian has been completely updated and is just around the corner from historic downtown Grass Valley. The spacious living/dining/kitchen area is perfect for entertaining, is fully equipped and furnished with warm oak furniture. Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2007
My husband and I are both retired and we bought this house after having visited Grass Valley a number of times to explore the area, fish in the many nearby lakes, and relax in the warmth of a small community. We have found that we are not able to take advantage of the house as often as we had planned and are now happy to offer it for short-term rentals.
Why the Owner Chose Grass Valley
Grass Valley is known for its quality of life and we can see why. Everyone you meet is friendly and welcoming, the community is actively involved in social and environmental issues, and the foothill setting is beautiful. The choice of activities within an hour's drive is endless and a day spent at home in the Little Victorian is priceless.

Hi Sondra, Thank you so much for renting such a cute little house. It was only 10 minutes from our niece's wedding venue. We had a great time walking around downtown Grass Valley. We walked around the corner to Tofanelli's Bistro a couple of times. It was our home away from home. We will definitly rent this again.

Thanks! We had GREAT time. Your house is lovely; and was perfect for our weekend get together. We especially appreciated the binder of information; we enjoyed meeting Santa and riding the train at the Gauge museum and had a nice last lunch at Cirino's. Cornish Christmas was also very fun! My girlfriend lives just 5 minutes away, so we will contact you again next time we come to visit her!! Thanks again; had a wonderful weekend!

Don't really want to write this review because I want to keep this gem a secret, but that's hardly fair. My husband and I were in Grass Valley for his father's funeral services and wanted something more homey than a hotel. This spacious 2-bedroom was a perfect meeting place for our 4 daughters who were also at hotels in town for the services. We shared coffee in the morning before heading out to our destinations and had a comfortable start to each day. The house is beautifully appointed and full of extras to make it seem like "home". After 40 years of visiting Grass Valley, we will never stay in a hotel again. The house is super clean and inviting and only a short walk around the corner to Main Street and tons of shopping and restaurants. Nevada City is a very short drive away and also full of shopping and restaurants. The front porch in the mornings and evenings was an inviting place to relax. Charlie's Place and South Pine Cafe, just 2 blocks down the street, were excellent places for huge breakfasts. We didn't cook, although the kitchen was fully equipped for doing so. We recommend Maria's for Mexican dinner, Tofannelli's, the Owl, and Cirino's for Italian/American, all a walkable distance. AT&T caused a problem with our internet service, but Caroline's, a 2-minute drive, is a welcoming place to relax and connect. Tons of coffee varieties as well as pastries and snacks. We inherited some large items which the UPS store, 3-4 minutes away, was happy to pack up and send for us. The house is on a steep hill, but I'm 68 and had no problem walking it. Although a sad circumstance this time, we love coming to GV and will stay here again if available and recommend it without reservation to anyone except handicapped.

I could not have enjoyed the accommodations more. The Little Victorian is a jewel! The owner has covered ever fine detail to make you feel at home. The added plus is the close proximity to downtown where you will find charming shops and a variety of restaurants. An A++ experience all around!

How wonderful to enter such a welcoming space. Your cozy cottage has the best of Victorian charm with 21st century luxuries. You have thought of everything! I loved being able to walk to downtown GV, explore the sights and then return to a warm, inviting, quiet "home". I can't remember when a vacation was so delightful. I would love to return.

As soon as we opened the front door of 'The Little Victorian' we were charmed. It has been beautifully updated. Nothing has been overlooked and it's as comfortable as being at home. The location is marvelous for walking around the downtown area and exploring all of the great little shops and restaurants. Thank you for providing such a lovely home for visitors, Sondra. We hope we'll get the chance to stay again sometime.
