Sondra, We LOVED staying at the the little Victorian! The iris and tulips are in bloom in the charming garden areas and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. Your house was the best guest friendly home we have stayed in through Homeaway. My husband has food allergies so we use Homeaway quite a bit so I can cook for him. What a well stocked kitchen! I can tell this house isn't just an investment property but a loved home. Thank you for thoughtful preparations and yes, I did read the historic newspaper article behind the front door. Thank you again- it was a great birthday.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My thoughts are still with this beautiful, well equipped little Victorian! We own and run a B&B in Mendocino, and this last minute getaway was just what we needed! In fact, we loved it so much we stayed an extra night. My husband and I traveled to Grass Valley with one of my sisters and her husband from southern Utah, to meet another sister from Nebraska who was staying in the area with her daughter and brand new granddaughter. We had a much needed sister reunion! It's ideally located with just a short stroll to many of the shops, restaurants and entertainment in Grass Valley. In fact, I found the perfect dresser for one of my guest rooms at a nearby antique store. Only one warning; the Chocolatier is addicting! Thanks Sondra, and don't change a thing . . . because we may be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This charming house is cozy and comfortable. We found the kitchen well equipped and we prepared a number of meals there, as well as holiday baking. The house clean and organized - with plenty of towels and nice linens; the washer and dryer were very helpful. The location of the house is very convenient to town and there's a wonderful cafe just a couple blocks down on Richardson Street. My daughters and I spent 10 days here and would definitely like to return.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family of three spend the weekend in Grass Valley at this cozy, well-appointed Victorian, literally one block from the adorable downtown Main Street. The home was exactly as described, with everything we needed, including plenty of books, games and movies for downtime. Second bedroom had enough room to set up our daughter's pack + play. Outdoor spaces are lovely. The location is perfect if you want to walk to all that downtown has to offer, but also be within driving distance of Nevada City and the Yuba River. There was a neighbor who played the drums during the day, but we were mostly out and about, so it wasn't much of a problem for us (baby slept right through it during nap time). Neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful at night. Owner was a pleasure to work with and offered us plenty of suggestions for activities to do with a young child in tow. Would definitely rent this home again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We love the Little Victorian and had a wonderful visit. The hot weather felt very nice as a contrast to the weather we had left in Victoria (60 to 65 degrees). Your house is lovely and so nicely furnished and had everything we possibly needed. We have seven more nieces and nephews in the area and hope they all have their weddings in Grass Valley. We will definitely contact you for the next one - hopefully next summer. We will also tell our friends about your Little Victorian.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We came to Grass Valley to explore the surrounding hills on our mountain bikes. The house was perfect and has everything you need. We were able to walk to town for dinner, wine tasting, church & shopping. We enjoyed having coffee on the front porch! Our schnauzer was able to explore the back yard because it was fenced in.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a cozy, cute house in such a peaceful location. I loved all the Victorian furniture. You almost feel like it's the 19th century, except for the modern comforts, like the DVD player and full kitchen with all the large and small appliances you might want. There's also a thoughtful selection of DVDs, CDs, and books, a deck with a BBQ grill, and a cute back yard. The house is right in the downtown area, so perfect for strolling around town to explore the shops and restaurants.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Hi Sondra, Thank you so much for renting such a cute little house. It was only 10 minutes from our niece's wedding venue. We had a great time walking around downtown Grass Valley. We walked around the corner to Tofanelli's Bistro a couple of times. It was our home away from home. We will definitly rent this again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Thanks! We had GREAT time. Your house is lovely; and was perfect for our weekend get together. We especially appreciated the binder of information; we enjoyed meeting Santa and riding the train at the Gauge museum and had a nice last lunch at Cirino's. Cornish Christmas was also very fun! My girlfriend lives just 5 minutes away, so we will contact you again next time we come to visit her!! Thanks again; had a wonderful weekend!Did you find this review helpful? Don't really want to write this review because I want to keep this gem a secret, but that's hardly fair. My husband and I were in Grass Valley for his father's funeral services and wanted something more homey than a hotel. This spacious 2-bedroom was a perfect meeting place for our 4 daughters who were also at hotels in town for the services. We shared coffee in the morning before heading out to our destinations and had a comfortable start to each day. The house is beautifully appointed and full of extras to make it seem like "home". After 40 years of visiting Grass Valley, we will never stay in a hotel again. The house is super clean and inviting and only a short walk around the corner to Main Street and tons of shopping and restaurants. Nevada City is a very short drive away and also full of shopping and restaurants. The front porch in the mornings and evenings was an inviting place to relax. Charlie's Place and South Pine Cafe, just 2 blocks down the street, were excellent places for huge breakfasts. We didn't cook, although the kitchen was fully equipped for doing so. We recommend Maria's for Mexican dinner, Tofannelli's, the Owl, and Cirino's for Italian/American, all a walkable distance. AT&T caused a problem with our internet service, but Caroline's, a 2-minute drive, is a welcoming place to relax and connect. Tons of coffee varieties as well as pastries and snacks. We inherited some large items which the UPS store, 3-4 minutes away, was happy to pack up and send for us. The house is on a steep hill, but I'm 68 and had no problem walking it. Although a sad circumstance this time, we love coming to GV and will stay here again if available and recommend it without reservation to anyone except handicapped.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I could not have enjoyed the accommodations more. The Little Victorian is a jewel! The owner has covered ever fine detail to make you feel at home. The added plus is the close proximity to downtown where you will find charming shops and a variety of restaurants. An A++ experience all around!Did you find this review helpful? How wonderful to enter such a welcoming space. Your cozy cottage has the best of Victorian charm with 21st century luxuries. You have thought of everything! I loved being able to walk to downtown GV, explore the sights and then return to a warm, inviting, quiet "home". I can't remember when a vacation was so delightful. I would love to return.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

As soon as we opened the front door of 'The Little Victorian' we were charmed. It has been beautifully updated. Nothing has been overlooked and it's as comfortable as being at home. The location is marvelous for walking around the downtown area and exploring all of the great little shops and restaurants. Thank you for providing such a lovely home for visitors, Sondra. We hope we'll get the chance to stay again sometime.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
