This vacation home is provides you with a casual, comfortable feel, ideal for a group of fishermen, a family vacation or a romantic get away. You can relax and rejuvenate or be active and hike or bike or raft. The Arkansas is one of the most rafted rivers in the Nation. We provide a notebook containing helpful information for your stay which includes brochures, maps, hiking and biking trails, recreation guides, phone numbers, tips, and menus from local restaurants.
Salida is a nearby historic town, with treasures to explore! it offers a variety of activities and culture. In 2004, Outside Magazine named Salida one of the top 20 "dream towns and adventure hideouts." And later it was named in the top 10 places to retire.
There is something for every season. You feel like you are in a peaceful, hide away in the mountains, yet you are only minutes from historic Salida where you can enjoy theatre, great dining, fun pubs, quaint shopping, hot springs pools, a local winery, and live music in the park. During Spring and summer enjoy all that the Arkansas River has to offer - fishing, rafting, kayaking, the Art Walk through the local galleries, and more! During the Fall you can view the Aspens change color and hike and explore the hills and ride the numerous trails.
During the winter there is a holiday parade and the lighting of Christmas Tree Mountian! And you can enjoy all the winter sports such as skiing, cross country, shnow shoeing and snowmobiling. All available within a scenic 40 minute drive to Monarch Ski Area.

Year Purchased: 2007
This is a second home for my parents, that they found they were not using nearly enough and want others to be able to enjoy it. They are in Sonoma County, Calif. and hope to retire here next year. My name is LaDonna, and I am taking care of the home and managing the rental. I am an active resident in the area and used to own and run a local B&B. I can be a great resource for information.
