The luxury of this log home begins outdoors on the two large decks that overlook the lake and forest. Enjoy watching the chickadees forage for food, the boats on the lake or your family playing games or eating dinner on either of these decks. This is outdoor living to the max. Fire up the BBQ and spend time out of door all year round.
If you prefer cooking indoors, then the modern kitchen will meet your needs. A Central island with overhead wrought iron rack for copper bottomed pans gives a country kitchen feel, but don’t be fooled, modern appliances include a dishwasher, gas range top, oven, side-by-side refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The wine rack is great for storing the bottles of Finger Lakes wines you may purchase along the Keuka Lake Wine Trail.
To the right of the kitchen spread out on the huge solid wood-slab table with bench seating and captains chairs. Off the dining room you have access to Bedroom 1 with King sized bed and adjoining sitting room; Bedroom 2 with a Double bed and the sounds of rippling water as it tumbles down the gorge to the lake; a half bath for convenience; and up the stairs to the open loft area that features a Queen sized bed.
The full bath on the first floor includes a Jacuzzi tub and is centrally located between the kitchen and great room.
To the left of the kitchen past the bathroom is the cathedral ceiling great room. A natural stone gas fireplace occupies center stage in this living space, but you will enjoy the comforts of plenty of seating on the leather furniture or side-by-side lazy-boy chairs.
Down on the lower level is a master-suite with separate bedroom with Queen sized bed and full bath across the hallway. The lower level also offers a small living space with a full size pull out sofa, TV, washer and dryer and coffee maker.
Lake Forest Lodge is located on the top of a ridge, across the road from the lake. Access in the winter may require a 4-wheel drive vehicle or hiking up the driveway. The lakefront is accessible from a roadway directly across the driveway, you may choose to load up the car and drive down, as there is parking for 2 cars down below. It‘s about 150 feet from the lodge down to the waterfront and is a steep hike. The road that must be crossed is 30 – 35mph, not a major highway.
Visit the quaint village of Hammondsport, take a ride on the Keuka Maid Steamboat, rent a boat or jet skis at the local marina, travel the Keuka Lake Wine Trail, go shopping at the Amish Windmill or stop in at the areas glass studios and antique shops. Lake Forest Lodge is conveniently located to enjoy all of these!
