You won’t see high-rises or crowds at this family vacation destination. The beach is clean with fine, white sand. The beach is your front yard. You need only to walk from the deck down the stairs to the ocean. Watch the children without leaving the deck. The beachfront of Dreamtime East is only accessed by the adjacent homes, not the general public. There’s plenty of space and you are guaranteed a quiet vacation away from it all. Emerald Isle can be enjoyed year round. The winters are mild enough to stroll the beach or bike ride during the day and sit by the fire at night. Spring and autumn are warm and quiet, and the water is warm enough to swim as late as November.
Emerald Isle, North Carolina, is small coastal community and is protected turtle nesting sanctuary. There are restaurants, shopping, golfing, kayaking, fishing, biking, water parks and many other activities in the area. Dreamtime East has all the pleasures of home in 2,500 square feet of living area, in addition to countless amenities you would find at a top-rated resort. The reverse floor plan with a large open upstairs kitchen/great room on the third floor offers panoramic views of the ocean and beach while cooking, eating, and relaxing. A dinner of a local seafood catch with the ocean views from the dining area, the kitchen counter, or the third floor overlooking the beach outdoor deck eating area surpasses any restaurant experience.
Listen to the waves as you prepare dinner, or as you relax in the comfortable living area reading or watching wide screened television with premium cable channels. The fully-equipped kitchen includes side by side refrigerator with filtered cold water and ice dispenser, ceramic top stove, large microwave, KitchenAid dishwasher, deep double sinks, etc. The large countertop provides an enjoyable gathering space for a crowd to cook, snack, or just hang out. The countertop seats six, and the large dining room table near the bay window can comfortably seat eight or more. The large third level deck with umbrella provides a relaxing outdoor eating area.
After dinner, early morning, or any time you feel like, take a book or glass of wine and enjoy the warm ocean breezes from the gazebo which is perched on the edge of the sand dunes overlooking the beach and ocean. Watch the sunset, the pelicans glide above you, the sandpiper feed or the waves lapping the shore.
The bedroom accommodations are spacious and nicely decorated and appointed. Al three bedrooms on the second floor have ocean views and deck access. Make sure you enjoy the master bathroom Jacuzzi after a long day at the beach. A fourth bedroom is located on the third floor, with direct access to the adjacent full bathroom and its own balcony. And finally, the spacious loft features two full and one single bed, and views of the ocean and sound. A professional lined service provides all linens and towels.
Three bedrooms and the loft are equipped with TV’s and DVD and VCR players. Other amenities in the house include: two stereos with CD players, iPod docking station, high speed wireless internet, telephones, gas fireplace, central air and heat, ceiling fans throughout, enclosed hot/cold outside shower, water softener, porch furniture, washer/dryer, bar-b-ques.

We are a family of five who love the beach. We moved to North Carolina after living by the ocean in Australia. We now live in Raleigh but wanted the beach to always be part of our lives. We enjoy this getaway all times of the year, particularly for gathering with our friends and family.
Why the Owner Chose Emerald Isle
We built our house in 1996. We rented houses at various beach communities along the North Carolina coast for many years with friends, and once we experienced Emerald Isle we decided this was by far the best for family vacation, beautiful beaches, and a relaxed atmosphere. We lead hectic lives but all that fades within hours of being at our home on the ocean.
The Unique Benefits of this Duplex House
We especially love walking along the beach, watching the dolphins play, seeing the formation of pelicans overhead, and hearing the eternal sound of waves. All with the comforts of home. We designed, decorated, furnished, and equipped Dreamtime as our own beachhouse, not a just rental property, so we could relax in comfort and pleasure but with simplicity. We know you will enjoy it too.
