Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1994
We have owned this property since 1994 and have used it as a secondary home as well as serving as our primary residence. We recently relocated back to the Holland Area and purchased a larger home a half mile away from the property. We love the location of the cottage but we needed a little larger home to accommodate our family. We have always loved the coziness, warmth and character that this cottage has to offer.
Why the Owner Chose Holland
Lake Macatawa is a beautiful natural harbor connected to Lake Michigan. It offers excellent boating for boats of all sizes and areas to water ski, kayak, sail and canoe. Fishing is also very popular not only on Lake Macatawa as well as Lake Michigan. Lake Macatawa does not offer any municipal docking facilities which makes for a more "quiet" lake community. However, it is in close proximity to Saugatuck and Grand Haven.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The cottage is situated on the mouth of a lagoon which affords a very secluded area to dock that can accommodate a boat up to 30 feet in length (with a draft of up to 3 feet). It has a beautiful dock that offers a wonderful view of Lake Macatawa as well as a large yard with a playground set for young children. It is located on a side street that has very little traffic. There is 100' of waterfront with a dock that is large enough to have ample seating area to relax in the sun or dine with your family.
