We bought the house in 2002. We use it to get away from our very fast-paced and hectic life at home.
Why the Owner Chose Belmar
We think of it as a sanctuary where we can escape our very busy lives, slow down the pace and relax and have fun with our children. We enjoy being in Belmar - it's a year-round town and a great community. The kids love running around in the yard, playing games, digging in the sand, jumping in the waves. Their smiles and laughs make it all worth while. Belmar is a convenient drive for us - not too long so we're able to spend the day or the weekend when we are able. The community is re-inventing itself and homes and businesses are being upgraded all over town.
The Unique Benefits of this House
My favorite part is very simple - the sound of the waves and the smell of the salt air. It brings instant calmness to my soul. There's just nothing like it.

Just a great place to take a break from the city and enjoy the sun and ocean. The location is great, equidistant from Main St and the beach. The neighbor is a quiet, residential area offering plenty peace and quiet. The house itself is in great shape and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. There is a full kitchen with all plenty if appliances and a nice dining room. The master bath has a nice rain shower. The hot tub is a fantastic feature for relaxing at the end of the day.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, tourists without a car.

My family and I have stayed in this location for two summers now -- this year will be our third -- and we couldn't be happier. The house is located half way between the main strip in town and the beach. That means it's just as easy to get into town as it is to the beach. The beach is nice and wide, with fresh-water showers and lunch cafes, if you don't feel like dragging a cooler. The house has central air, several ceiling fans, and a retractable awning on the deck (I hate the commercial but love the option of sitting in the sun or shade!) so you can stay cool after a day at the beach of a run on the boardwalk. There is a sizable deck with a paver patio down below (with gas grill) and a large hot tub (my kids think it's a pool) and outside shower next to the deck. The back yard (beyond the deck) is very spacious -- good for wiffle ball or frisbee with the kids. My only complaint was the that the grass in back could have used some attention -- it has obviously seen some wear from lots of people running around. (Then again, we're not there to spend time in the yard.) The downstairs is fairly open, with a kitchen counter and high stools separating the kitchen from the dining area -- a nice hangout space. The living room has a sectional and a decent size flat screen on the wall. The stereo is just okay, though I typically bring my own Bose. The upstairs has a separate central air control, which is nice. And the master bath with the rain shower is great for showering lots of little ones at once! The hot water was great too -- they had completed installing an "on demand" unit the first time we stayed there, so the hot water never runs out! The owners have been great (the importance of which can't be overstated). The DVD player died while we were there (not good, since our girls were babies!) and they came to the house and replaced the unit the next morning. There is FIOS high-speed wi-fi (and free domestic phone) for keeping in touch with the outside world while you're there...but why bother!

My family stayed here for a week last August and had a great time! The house is pristine, very well-maintained and had plenty of space indoors and out for all of us (7-8 adults and 2 small children, plus a few day visitors). Loved the front porch and back deck for relaxing and we had many memorable meals outside under the stars. Owners are very responsive and helpful. A very short stroll to the beach with its beautiful boardwalk and plenty of sun and R&R time for everyone. The hot tub was a big hit also. Highly recommend this lovely home.

What an awesome home. We love the downstairs bedroom. The kitchen was great and just so roomy!!! The hot tub was wonderful to relax in after the long day at the beach!!! Lots of space in the house and there was room for three cars in the driveway. Outdoor shower was a bonus. The second floor has a rain shower that the kids really enjoyed. Wonderful experience. Can not wait to go back!!!!!
