It offers great fly fishing just yards off the back deck, miles of trails including easy access to the Colorado Trail. Mt. Princeton Hot Springs is just two miles down valley, offering massages, hot springs, a water slide, and cozy bar/restaurant.
Surrounded by aspen and ponderosa pine, this newly remodeled log home has three bedrooms with queen beds, a sleeping loft, two bathrooms and a modern kitchen.
The house and huge back deck are furnished with comfortable furniture perfect for enjoying the peace and quiet of Chalk Creek. It is simply the best location up Chalk Creek ... quiet, off the road, away from other cabins but convenient. The stars at night are amazing.
Running Bear Lodge is isolated on the Creek and away from roads but close to the numerous activities offered at Mt Princeton Hot Springs, Buena Vista and Salida. Those activities include hiking, mountain biking, mountain climbing, fly fishing, river rafting, zip lining, kayaking and enjoying the food and art scene in Salida.
We have owned our cabin for 18 years. Our kids, grandkids and dogs love the place. Whenever we are up there we feel spiritually renewed and hope you will too.

For years we looked for a cabin on a fishing stream away from roads with an open view of the mountains. As you can imagine, there aren't many places like that. When we saw this place, we bought it on the spot. You will see why.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
You are isolated on a mountain stream in the middle of the mountains. But you are also only miles from a Hot Spring Spa and two wonderful mountain towns, Salida and Buena Vista. This is Colorado at its best.
On Chalk Creek, Looking up at Chalk Cliffs and Mt Princeton. Very Private and Secluded.
