With the best location in the Collegiate Range, this scenic mountain hideaway overlooks Chalk Creek with the chalk cliffs looming in the background.
It offers great fly fishing just yards off the back deck, miles of trails including easy access to the Colorado Trail, and the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs/ water slide are about two miles down valley.
Surrounded by aspen and ponderosa pine, this newly remodeled log home has three bedrooms, sleeping loft, two bathrooms and a modern kitchen.
The house and huge back deck are furnished with comfortable furniture perfect for enjoying the peace and quiet of chalk Creek. We even have a telescope on a tri-pod for the birds and mountain goats on the cliffs. The stars at night are amazing.
Running Bear Lodge feels isolated but is close to the numerous activities offered in Buena Vista and Salida. Those activities include hiking, mountain biking, mountain climbing, fly fishing, rafting, kayaking and enjoying the food and art scene in Salida.
We have owned our cabin for 18 years. Whenever we are up there we feel spiritually renewed and hope you will too.
