I cannot say enough positive things about the owner and his wife. They were so willing to adjust to my lack of control of our schedule upon arrival. The cottage was as described, and of course the Michigan fall weather was great!! Unfortunately we were unable to use the equipment for the lake, as my husband cannot participate in those activities. To think that for years we rented a cottage in Traverse City, when there was one so close to home. Our kids would have been just as thrilled here.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was the second year that my husband and I spent our anniversary at this cottage. It was just as relaxing as it was last year. We had such a nice time and we caught so many fish that we both felt like we were casting and reeling in fish in our sleep =]. I love going to a place that I know is clean, quiet and comfortable. I consider Pam to be a friend, even though I have only talked with her a few minutes the past two years. She has a way of making you feel like you are old friends and that is such a blessing. If you are looking for a quiet place to get away from the fast paced world we live in, you won't regret spending some time at this cottage. Thanks again Jim and Pam. Sorry it took me so long to write, but once we come home it's back to crazy.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

I rented this cabin for 2 nights while I was visiting for a convention in Grand Rapids. I corresponded with Jim for several weeks prior to my trip, and he was friendly and polite. It was about 35 miles from Grand Rapids and it's on rural roads. The photos don't do it justice. I should have rented this cabin for a romantic getaway. The view of the lake is INCREDIBLE, the cabin roomy and VERY clean. The only set back was that the cabin could have had more window curtains. I would have loved to stay longer to just relax and sit on the sofa and gaze outside. Hopefully I will be back one day with more time.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We were looking for a quiet place to spend a few days to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. Our hosts were so gracious and we felt very blessed to have been able to stay at there cottage and just relax with no one above us or below us. It is so much better than a hotel and the fishing was great. We hope to be able to go back every year. It was the perfect way to end our summer and celebrate our anniversary.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

We just completed 4 days at the Cottage (VRBO #241310) on Banks Lake and it was wonderful. Everything was clean and grounds were in very nice order. The cottage is VERY sufficiently stocked and the lake also fits that description. We were able to catch dozens of Crappie and Perch from the dock alone. There are also Bass and Walleye stocked in this lake. The fishing boat and paddle boat were a blast. I would recommend this quaint and quiet cottage to anyone and feel that the rates are among the best i have found for what you get.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Wow. What a great place!! A lot of hard work was put into restoring this cabin and it shows! Quality owners make this a guaranteed relaxing place to stay. We took countless deep breaths and notes of positives during our stay. We thought about sharing the experience with the kids next time, but decided to keep it our own place to share as a couple. We can't wait to find time to visit again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

It was a great place for our family. With our two boys it was perfect for fishing, swimming, and boating. You can catch fish right off the dock, the paddle boat, and canoe that comes with the cottage are perfect for the teenagers. The location next to the lake is PERFECT, and access to other lakes offers many options. Anyone who is looking for a get away that is still close to home, this is the best place. We have recommended to everyone we know.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

This is a wonderful place! It's a perfect setting, a cozy cottage right on the lake equipped with a fishing boat, paddleboat and a canoe. The lake connects to five others and offers not only great scenery but a great place to relax. The owners are very sweet and easy to deal with. The place is perfect for a weekend getaway that puts you with nature but is located close enough to modern amenities should you forget anything. A lovely place, would highly recommend!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
