The house was perfect for a family with young children; all the basics are there, there are some games, books, a sand buggy and even some books at our disposal. What we really liked was the huge porch were we ate every evening and of course the proximity to the beach (only a few steps away). The beach is one of the best I have seen! There is also a lot to do in the proximity ... This area is full of very interresting things to do.

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

This property is just wonderful for a low key cottage atmosphere. We had a great time relaxing on a huge brick/screen portch with a full selection of living and dining room furniture for outdoor living. Inside is perfect for groups with one master bedroom off the kitchen, 2 large bedrooms (Queen and 2 twins) off a small hallway that can be seperated by doors from the rest of the living space and another bedroom with 2 twins off the living room. It allows for people to go to bed at different times without disturbing each other if some one is a night owl. You can also enjoy eating in the kitchen, on a back deck or a roof deck! The out door shower off the kitchen has plenty of hot water and the property has every beach chair/ umbrella, toy you could want. Old quirky floors and woodwork gives this property wonderful charm and with 3 parking spots and direct-out-the front-door beach acess, you can't really get any better. We particuarly enjoyed being on 78th street, well up from the hustle of down town. A bike path goes all the way from the property to the boardwalk and to Rudy inlet , or turn the other way and go to the lighthouses. Honestly, as long as you don't need granite countertops and chrome in your life, you will have a great time here.

Great place to build family memories

We had a fabulous time at this beachside cottage. My family and I enjoyed being steps away from the ocean. The beach was never crowded and the sunsets were amazing. My children enjoyed watching the dolphins travel by each morning and early evening. The home itself is a quitessential beach house, nothing fancy, but having everything needed to enjoy a relaxing week. I especially appreciated the central A/C. The owner was very prompt in returning security fee, which hasn't always been the case in previous years and was appreciated.

Charming House in a Great Location

A charming house in a great location with very easy access to the beach. It is an older home but well maintained and all of the necessities are provided. All you need to bring are your bathing suit and tooth brush! The owner was accommodating and easy to work with.

The Jewel of the Beach

This was our 5th year of staying at this wonderful cottage and I wouldn't stay anywhere else! I call this cottage the "Jewel of the Beach"! The accommodations are plenty for our family of 5 plus my mother-in-law and a friend. The cottage is clean and up to date. We absolutely love and use the HUGE screened-in front porch with ceiling fans -- we even eat our dinners on the table out there. The location is FABULOUS! It's steps away from the "walk-over" to the beach and the beach is in a private location. We've gone down at different times in the summer and the beach where this cottage is located is never crowded. This cottage is close to grocery stores and WONDERFUL seafood restaurants on the Lynnehaven Waterway. I would highly recommend this cottage for one of the best vacations ever!

This house is absolutely adorable and perfect for a family with young children. It is close to the beach so there is not a far walk and it is on a quiet dead end street. It is far enough away from the busy crowded areas near the boardwalk but close enough to go check those areas out. The house itself is very homey and comfortable. We will definitely rent here again.

Frank, Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful stay in your house at 78th St.! It was the perfect size for our needs and in the perfect location.my daughter loved the middle bedroom because of the quilts and the lamps on the wall, and I loved not having to drive to and park at the beach! Again, thanks for making our "vacation" in Va. Beach so comfortable.

This rental is definitely a "keeper." It's in a great location, clean and the house has such great personality. It is a "must stay" for any who plan on visiting Va Beach for a week or two.
