Nice little place with an excellent location in downtown La Jolla. Easy walk to everything including one block to CVS and two blocks to Vons Grocery, Starbucks and Bagle place. 5 minutes walk to see the sea lions at La Jolla cove. And if you like tennis, the property is located right next to the La Jolla Recreation Center with 9 beautiful courts and many excellent players looking for a quick pick up game. The unit is in a nice private condo complex and the parking space is a live saver in this downtown La Jolla location. Furnishings older, but quite functional. Kitchen was well equipped. Three bathrooms also wonderful for a family with 3 teenage girls! Will come back for sure.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, girls getaway.

We stayed in this unit last fall, and we had a really good time. The pictures make it look a little nicer inside than it is in person, but it was perfectly adequate. We have two well-behaved preschool-aged boys, and didn't really have any significant problems. However, the back wall of the family room is all glass, and it's old, not the newer safety glass. The property manager did warn us about that, and were up front about it, so it was up to us to keep the boys away from it. One good hit, though, and you may have problems. Just something to keep in mind if you have small kids. Kitchen and master bath are terrific, as described. Kitchen was well-stocked. Bedroom were roomy, but closet doors were somewhat dangerous for small kids. Beds weren't awesome, but if you want awesome, go to a five star hotel. Linens could be replaced, but weren't horrible. Carpeting was the same. Overall, it seems to be an older unit that has had some remodeling, but could definitely use some more. The community itself is small and quiet. We never saw another person walk in and out the whole time we were there. Dedicated parking spots can't be beat, as parking in La Jolla can sometimes be a challenge. Also, having a gaited community created a great sense of security. The absolute best part of this property is LOCATION! It's awesome. Easy walk to several great restaurants, grocery store, pharmacy, etc.. Easy driving access to all major highways, though GPS comes in very handy, as there are some odd turns here and there. Overall, a very comfortable, enjoyable place to stay, with only minor inconveniences. Well worth the rental price!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

The unit was very comfortable and worked out well for my needs (1 adult and 1 child). Unit updated as described. Modest but adequate furnishings (those requiring 5-star accommodations should look elsewhere). Great location within walking distance of La Jolla Village, cove, and beaches (would need to drive to La Jolla Shores). Unit and surroundings safe and unit secure. La Jolla is an inviting and upscale town. You could choose to spend your entire stay in La Jolla and have a great vacation (nice beaches, museums, restaurants). Unit within 15 minutes of most other San Diego attractions (zoo, Sea World, airport, other beaches). On-site manager very helpful. I would rent unit again. I traveled with my 11 year old child and recommend the following activities: WindandSea Beach and Marine Street Beach (not for boogie boarding as waves break close to shore), Children's Beach to view seals and sunsets, La Jolla Cove for snorkeling, La Jolla Shores Beach for nice wide family beach with gentle surf, sea kayaking and snorkeling from La Jolla Shores (we used San Diego Kayak and Snorkeling). In/near San Diego, we enjoyed the zoo (outstanding and could spend more than one day there), Balboa Park, Sea World (fun but expensive; we got fast passes and although about $35/pp more I would recommend), Padres game, Coronado and Pacific Beach is about 4 miles south (good for boogie boarding and seeing some interesting characters). We ate out most meals and my child enjoyed Extreme Pizza, Wahoo's Fish Taco, Burger Lounge, the Living Room, the Cottage (breakfast), Girard Gourmet, and Gelateria Frizzante. There are plenty of very nice restaurants but that was not the focus of the trip with an 11 year old.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

This condo is awesome - just 2-3 blocks from everything - shops, the beach, library, post office, and tons of restaurants. Well equipped, very roomy, and comfortably furnished for both long and short-term stays. Neighbors are nice and the area is very peaceful. Local manager and the owner are both very responsive when you have a question. We've stayed in several different condos in La Jolla and this one, tho maybe not as luxurious as others, is (by far) my favorite and I hope to return here someday.Did you find this review helpful?
