Hamlin Lake Hideout

Enjoyed a week of West Michigan on beautiful Hamlin Lake. Large, well appointed accommodation! Plenty of room for two families. Bunkhouse was a hit with the kids, large deck area and waterfront yard were great for BBQ and provided easy access for parking our 15' boat. Boat launch only 3 minutes from cottage. Only 15 minutes drive to Lake Michigan (Ludington SP).

Glorious Week!

We would describe our week as Glorious Chaos! Multiple families came together for the week (this is the Chaos) and yet we were so comfortable and had plenty of room to spread out. The cottage was very clean and stocked with everything needed for the week. My kids loved fishing on Lake Hamlin and the adults loved sitting on the swing over looking the water. The deck is huge and all our meals and much of our time was spent on the deck. Another highlight for my kids...the bunkhouse and outdoor shower. They still are talking about the shower! We rented a boat during our stay and made many trips throughout the week to Ludington State Park...one of our favorite places to visit. It truly was a glorious week and we hope to return next year!

Beautiful property, a LOT of room both indoors and out

There were so many great things about this cottage, that I hardly know where to start. The bunk house was fabulous, the outdoor shower was a great bonus, the yard and deck were HUGE, the kitchen was large and well-stocked, there was plenty of parking, the beds were clean, the neighbors were all really nice and friendly, the landscaping was really clean...I could easily go on. We would most definitely recommend this property to others and we will look into renting it again ourselves next year. There were just a couple 'hiccups' for us...we did spend a bit of time cleaning the main house (there were quite a few spider webs in the sliding doors, lights, and corners and the bathrooms needed a bit of cleaning too) and the internet wasn't working for about half the time we were there. Just a note to anyone else renting in the future - the well-stocked kitchen is REALLY well-stocked...anything you could possibly need is already there from a crock pot to a hand mixer and anything in between. We would also recommend bringing large bumpers, strong anchors, and maybe a piece of carpet or something to lay along the metal seawall to keep the boats from bumping. We had a few windy/wavy days and had a bit of trouble keeping our boats off the wall. Overall, the property was FANTASTIC!!! We had a group of 12 with ages ranging from 1 year to 52 and we did NOT feel cramped for space at all. We spent our days at the sand dunes or skiing, tubing and wake boarding on the lake, and our nights watching tv, playing games, having bonfires and relaxing. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable week.

Hamlin Lake Cottage

Our family had a great vacation week at the Hamlin Lake Cottage. The main cottage is comfy and well furnished and the bunk house was awesome for movie night. We visited the state park and watched the Badger sail into the sunset and made too many trips to the House of Flavors. Hope we can do it again next year!

Great Time at Hamlin Lake

This is a great rental at Hamlin Lake. The bunk house was a huge bonus as was the spacious yard and deck. We have been going to Hamlin 10+ years and this is our favorite location! The kitchen was well stocked and the rental had many amenities including wireless internet, personal computer, linens and towels (rare in Hamlin Lake rentals), gas grill, plenty of dock space, and lots of outdoor seating. The house and bunk house sleeps 10+ very comfortably. I would highly recommend this location on beautiful Hamlin Lake!

Very clean and accomodating for a large group. We had ten. Close to great restaurants and shopping. Being able to do laundry on site is a bonus. Bunk house was very comfortable. The outdoor shower really helps when you have a crowd.

Hamlin Lake cottage/bunkhouse

Just returned from a WONDERFUL week at Hamlin Lake. The accommodations were great - especially liked the new shower on the deck. The photos don't do it justice. Myself and nine friends were there for a girls' retreat. We plan to return next year because we didn't do everything that was on our list. Loved having a washer/dryer available. The owner was very helpful when I called to ask about the place and answered all my questions. The property manager who lives across the street was also very helpful. I would definitely recommend this property to family and friends. Lots of great places to eat in the Ludington area: Pirates' Pub, P.M. Steamers, Blu Moon, Jamesport Brewing Co. and Scotty's to name a few. And don't forget House of Flavors for a tasty refreshing treat. Several of the gals found great bargains at the consignment shops. Lots to see and do in the Ludington area. This place is a gem - don't pass it up.

Owner response:I am so glad you enjoyed your stay, Chris, and we'll be sure to take you up on your few comments to make it even better! Andrew Murray

Wonderful place to stay! My family and I had a great time at this cottage! The front lawn was great for all the games we played and for my little girl to run around! There was so much room between the bunkhouse and the cottage! Also if you have a boat there is alot of space to park it, it was very convinent for us! We had a fabulous time during our stay! Hopefully we can come back next year! Thank you so much for everything!

We stayed at the cottage for a fall weekend in Michigan. The cottage was perfect. Very clean with modern appliances and excellent views of the Lake and surrounding forest. We would definitely stay again.

We feel very lucky that we found this cottage available to spend the last week of our children's summer vacation (Aug 23-30). Rain or shine, you will enjoy your stay in this very comfortable home away from home. The wireless internet and the new flat screen tv kept us entertained inside while the expansive yard and wonderful views awed us all outside. Thanks for sharing your home with our family and for the happy memories it provided us!!!

We stayed in the cottage for a week this summer and had a wonderful family vacation. Ludington and the surrounding area is beautiful and there is much to do. The cottage has been updated and was very nice with amenities (wireless internet and washer/dryer was a bonus). All we brought were our clothes, a cooler and boat gear, the rest was at the cottage. My family enjoyed fishing from the dock, climbing the sand dunes around the corner on Lake Hamlin, tubing, going to Michigan Adventure, campfires, the beach in Ludington and many other wonderful adventures. The owner and property manager were very easy to work with and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We will be back!!

A charming getaway that will have you coming back year after year. The upper Hamlin Lake setting for this cozy cottage is simply beautiful. We enjoyed peaceful mornings on the large deck overlooking the lake, playing with the grandchildren on the huge grassy yard (also lakefront), and most importantly, we looked forward to our evening campfires (once again, lakefront!) sharing family time, roasting marshmallows and watching stunning sunsets over the lake. What a wonderful respite from the city and tranquil retreat back to nature...we hated to leave this place! The cottage itself is roomy, clean, comfortable and has many nice updates...it provides everything you'll need for a great stay. The owner (who lives out of state) is very nice and good to deal with as was the local property manager. Another plus, we met a very nice couple who live next door...it was great to have such friendly neighbors! Every evening around dusk our family would either take walks or short drives to view deer...believe me, you don't have to travel far...they're everywhere! What a fun adventure for all of us and a great learning experience for the grandchildren! This cottage was ideally located, allowing us many opportunities to visit nearby attractions...the city of Ludington with it's neat little shops, restaurants, lakefront city park and beach (and don't forget to watch the Badger come in each evening on it's return trip across Lake Michigan from Wisconsin!). Other areas not to miss, Ludington State Park (gorgeous park with wonderful beaches and hiking trails), also the Silver Lake Dunes area (south of Ludington) and the quaint little town of Pentwater. There's probably more to see and do...we just ran out of time! What a great area. As you can probably tell, I'm more than enthused about our stay here...we can't wait to return! We highly recommend it.

We just stayed at this property this week. We had an amazing time and the cottage was lovely! All the amenities were in place and the location was perfect to be able to enjoy everything that Ludington has to offer! The neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Miller, were very friendly as was Kevin, the maintenance supervisor. He was very attentive to our needs and checked in regularly to see if we needed anything. I would definitely come here again. Thank you!

We truly had a great American summer vacation on Hamlin Lake! We spent a week in June with our twin 4 year olds and their grandparents. The house was very comfortable and the updated kitchen and baths were immaculate. However, the wonderful lakefront deck, lawn, and firepit were where we spent most of our time with nightly barbecues and marshmallow roasts. The dock and boat tie-ups on the sea wall allowed my dad to be out fishing by sun-up. The owner and property managers were great to deal with, very nice, as were the neighbors surrounding the cottage. A great experience - we will be back.

Hello, We have stayed at your cottage a number of times in the past three years when it was rented by the previous owner. We always had a wonderful time. We brought our sailboat and also enjoyed the pontoon boat. The yard is spectacular, with a lovely view of the lake.
