We chose this rental for fishing and the "Loon's Nest" did not disappoint us at all. My son and I caught 140 fish over the week including pike, perch, pickerel and of course Big Bass! The lake is beautiful and the wildlife abundant. We saw osprey, turtles, a bald eagle and of course many Loons! The cottage is spacious and beautiful and exceeded our expectations! Thank you Steve for sharing your awesome home with us and for helping us to create wonderful memories which will last forever!!

Family of Ten.......Second Summer Stay.

This was our second stay at The Loon's Nest. This house has everything! Veiws are second to none. House is fully equipped from dishes, glasses, pots and pans, cable tv, water toys, campfire pit, swimming dock, mooring ball, lifevests, air compressor, etc........We have stayed twice now in July. Both times we were here we were blessed with a heat wave. House is air conditioned and it was a great reprieve from the heat. The lake is beautiful, cleaned and filled with fish. We consistantly caught and released 3-7 pound bass. Loons, hawks, eagles, etc are everywhere. This is by far the best and cleanest rental we have ever stayed at! The owners are tremendous. They sometimes are local on the lake and you only see them if you have a question. I recommend this house/property emphatically!

Another fabulous family vacation in this idyllic setting for the second summer in a row and again, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The house was spotless when we arrived and well-appointed, very roomy, lots of sleeping space and open floor plan. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, fishing and just relaxing by the lake. Could not ask for a more comfortable vacation home - a true home-away-from-home. The owners have thought of everything! We hope to return again next year. P.S. Thank you so much for the wine - how very thoughtful of you.

During my three month stay, I had the unmatched feeling of relaxation and awe, it was amazing waking up every morning to a mirror glass lake with the mist lingering over and the loons calling. I was able to kayak, canoe and swim, then watch the leaves change in the crisp fall air , then slipping and sliding across the snow and ice. Thank you for making this the favorite home away from home I've had and creating such a welcoming environment. (from the guest book 8/29 to 12/17--2010)

"This place is beautiful and we've been enjoying the peace and quiet. Woke up this morning to 5 turkeys in the yard, then took the kayak out and saw a bald eagle in a tree... It was awesome..... I slept like a rock every night in the upstairs room with the "big" bed. Great time with the family..... The house is in a perfect location and the lake is beautiful. Thanks for sharing your home with us. " (from the guestbook 8/8-8/14, 2010)

A+ Stay at the Loon's Nest!

Our stay at Loon's Nest was fantastic. The house was well-stocked and had everything we needed for the week. The lake view from the house was gorgeous. The location is central enough that you can do plenty of day trips if you want to sightsee in the area. It was a great week for wildlife viewing around the house and lake as well - loons, eagles, wild turkeys, osprey.

"We had a fantastic week -- counted 14 loons. The kids named lots of animals -- "George" - the frog, and "Hector" - the loon. Lots of boating, swimming, relaxing and hanging out together. We had so much fun and never left the house" - (from the guestbook - 7/25 to 8/1, 2010)

"Came to Maine for a family wedding and were just hoping for a rental house close to the rest of the family. What we got with the "Loon's Nest" was so much more! Great place to stay --peaceful and relaxing retreat with all the amenities you might need. Couldn't keep the kids out of the lake. Thank you for a great vacation." My family spent the week of July 11th at the Loon's Nest- the weather was wonderful and we had a fabulous time! The accommodations were perfect and as advertised. Property was clean, well-maintained and suited our every need. We are already discussing plans to return next year and would not hesitate to recommend the Loon's Nest to others. Our thanks to the owners for the opportunity to rent their property.

We stayed at The Loon's Nest the week of July4-11,2010. We had the greatestest time. The house has everything you need. It is clean, modern but still has the Lakehouse feel. The views are second to none. Everything we encountered at the Loon's Nest was above and beyond. The dock is beautiful, the lawn the same. A fire pit right by the water's edge. A few days it was over 90 degrees and we used the AC and it was great. Other days we opened the screened windows and the breeze filled the house nicely. Again, there is nothing to bring here but clothes and food. Huge kitchen area, lot's of room throughout and again, the views from the house and deck are wonderful. My sons caught over 50 fish during the week including eight 4-5 pound bass. We want to make this place our yearly Maine retreat!!!!!!!!

A number of family members came together in Maine for a niece's wedding - we really "scored" when we found the Loon's Nest on VRBO!! It's a beautiful, well-maintained and very comfortable home in a peaceful setting that can easily accomodate a good sized group. A favorite activity was taking our first cup of coffee out to the deck to enjoy the sunrise and watch the loons and eagles starting their days too. You won't be disappointed if you choose the Loon's Nest!

What a enjoyable week our family enjoyed at the Loon's Nest. Solitude, quiet mornings, waking up to a glass smooth lake, watching the loons dive for their meals, kayaking around, seeing the resident eagle, with nest, on the island. The house is beautiful inside, with all the comforts of home. Didn't have time to fish, but saw quite a few others who were sucessful. Water temp was in the 70's. Highly recommend

This camp was wonderful, beautiful...., plus we had a pefect we weatherwise. I and my 2 sisters stayed there for the week. We had family that came and went throughout the week and pleny of place to stay. The grounds were great. While we were there the tv broke. I called the owner and he was there that same day with a new one. Can't say enough good about our week there.
