With 85% of our valley being public lands, the recreation opportunities are endless. If you'd like to add adventure to your stay, our cabin is located in the middle of Northwest Montana’s great outdoor playground.
Wildlife of all sorts abound. Fishing, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, horseback riding, golfing, snowmobiling, and skiing are just a few of the many activities this area has to offer, along with Glacier National Park being only 90 minutes away.
Flying in and don't have room for the fun stuff?! No worries. We provide you with beach chairs, cooler, coffee mugs to go, squirt guns, beach towels, float toys, etc for all your beach bum needs. Want to go hiking? We provide you with a GPS, bug spray, forest service maps, all you need is your hiking shoes. In the winter we privide snow shoes and a fire pit for cozy outdoor fun!
Known as the banana belt of Montana, our warm climate and long day lengths in summer allow you to enjoy any activity you may seek out to do or just enjoy the peacefulness of our vacation cabin rental. Fall and Winter are very peaceful at the cabin. We are located between two major ski resorts located in Fernie, British Columbia, and Whitefish, Montana. Miles of cross country ski trails and snowmobile trails. The cabin property is perfect for snowshoeing as well and we will provide you with the snow shoes!
And here's the best part — at the end of the day, you'll have the most comfortable peaceful place to call your home away from home.

This was one of the most relaxing vacations my family and I have ever been on. It turned out to be everything we expected based on the web-site description & traveler reviews. The owners were very informative on what to do in the Rexford area. I would recommend it to anyone with a boat interested in exploring Lake Koocanusa as well.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Spent three nights with a girlfriend and my small dogs. Great set up for friends with two bedrooms & bathrooms. ( one is a 1/2 bath). Huge shower in main bathroom. Well equipped kitchen with modern appliances plus dishwasher. Great windows in all rooms that open to let in the pure country air! Lovely wrap around deck that is covered. Good walking with the dogs on almost deserted country roads. In town there's an enjoyable pub ( 5 min. drive) plus some nice 1 1/2 hour walks. The dogs loved it as did we!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Unbeatable Cabin in a Beautiful Setting!

This was the second year we've spent a week here and we came back because this is simply the best vacation rental we have ran across anywhere in the country. The pictures on the listing are absolutely accurate - the cabin is a very comfortable and nicely decorated two bedroom - 1-1/2 bath ranch house with a huge porch and great views of Lake Koocanusa and Purcell Mtns. We spent two days just reading on the porch and lounging around - it is very easy to relax here. Just like last year, the cabin was clean and well-maintained. The bed linens are excellent, the kitchen is well stocked with cook gear, and the owner leaves out little baskets of peppermint candy patties and other snacks for the guests. The cabin is also stocked with all sorts of useful things - GPS, washer/dryer, coolers, books, movies, extra pillows, etc. As for activities in the area, unless you are a metrosexual and can't live without social nightlife, there is plenty to do (although Whitefish in winter should be good even for a metro). My wife and I are both geologists, so the mountains themselves are one of our attractions, but there is sking in winter within an hour, hiking in summer and fall, Glacier National Park is 90 minutes away and Waterton is 3 hrs (but is a very beautiful drive over Crowsnest Pass). Fort Steele, British Columbia is an easy drive and offers a very nice historical village. There;s also nature drives - we tackled the 15 mile narrow gravel road to Mt. Marston Fire Lookout- located south of Fortine, MT. The road is better suited for trucks or SUVs, but the view is incredible on a sunny fall day! The owners, Margie and Duke, leave a huge binder of road maps and hiking trails in the cabin, as well as listing of local restaurants. If wildlife viewing is your thing - just look out the window. Saw squirrels on the porch, a pileated woodpecker (he was hammering the porch posts!), deer, and wild turkey. Elk are common in the valley near Eureka. Finally, there's always fishing - huge trout and local salmon in Koocanusa. We shall return again someday and we just might stay for good next time!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We spent over 3 weeks at Margie and Duke's cabin, and it more than met our expectations. The cabin is beautiful, and we spent many hours relaxing on the deck, enjoying the view. There are so many great drives in the area, great hikes, and good places to eat. They provide lots of information for their guests. We loved Glacier, and enjoyed our 2 trips to Canada--Fernie,B.C. is only an hour away and we had no problems at the border. We also loved the Ten Lakes area, walked completely around Big and Little Thierrault Lakes. Hope we can return someday.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This cabin had everything, fabulous views, comfy beds, awesome kitchen, close to the lake, firepit, horses, modern electronics, wifi, TV, ipod dock. Too many good things to say. The photo's are very accurate, no dissappointment, very clean. Margie & Duke the owners were simply wonderful. We almost don't want to recommend it so we can keep it a secret for ourselves.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We just left this cabin after a week's stay and all I can say is AWESOME! It was better than expected. The cabin is spotless, the decor couldn't be more perfect, the surrounding area is beautiful and it was perfectly quiet to hang out at the cabin. We were there to hike and we made sure to not leave the cabin on alternating days because it was just so nice to hang out on the huge porch and either read or gaze at the mountains. Eureka had a lot to offer in the way of shopping and there were so many things you could go do if you wanted. There were many nice touches that Margie and Duke did that made it so much more special. Can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My only problem with this cabin is that I couldn’t stay longer! This place is everything you could want in a romantic/relaxing get away. My husband and I spent 3 wonderful nights here and are already planning to return later this year. The area is amazing, Lake Koocanusa is simply beautiful. The area is awash with wildlife and amazing hikes and trails. You don’t have to worry about seeking them out because the cabin comes equipped with a wealth of information contained within a wonderful welcome binder. There are trails and sights and even info on where to spot wildlife. We spent hours with our dog upon the shores of Lake Koocanusa walking and taking in the fabulous views. Eureka is only 6 miles away and is a wonderful little town with some nice places to eat. I would recommend getting a ‘shake’ from Café Jax! The cabin itself is wonderful. It is fully stocked with everything you need, all you need is your clothes – and if they get dirty don’t worry, there are laundry facilities in the cabin! The beds are comfortable, the living room and kitchen are top notch. The views are simply stunning and you can take them all in from the wonderful swing on the deck. Margie, the owner is wonderful. She has an understanding of what you need for your getaway. When she says that she wants it to ‘feel like home’ she means that she has gone out of her way to make this feel like your home away from home. All in all this is a wonderful little getaway. I would (and have) recommended it to anyone! This is the cabin in the woods you always dreamt of visiting!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
