No tricks or surprises here. Antonio was waiting to meet us when we arrived from the airport, as promised. His english is excellent; no communications problems at all. We didn't need any further help from him once he got us into the apartment and oriented, equipped with maps, dining suggestions, etc. But it was comforting knowing he was only a phone call away if needed. The apartment would be considered spacious if it was in Paris, and indeed provided ample room for us. The living room is well separated from the bedroom when one of us wanted to rest and not the other. The living room sofa is comfortable; the room could use one more comfortable chair with reading light; about the only suggestion I can think of. TV is fine, but all in Spanish which we don't understand. That was all to the good because we've had it with the news in the U.S. in any event; and we didn't travel that far to watch TV. The bed is comfortable (although we wish the Europeans would get over the idea of mattresses that are about a foot off the floor), the bedroom away from the street and quiet (altho there's not much noise on the street), ample fresh air. The kitchen is well equipped with ample room for modest culinary efforts. The apartment is clean and well maintained, albeit not what could be called "elegant." We found plenty of good places to eat within a couple of blocks of the apartment; no need for metro, taxi or etc for going out to dinner. And the diners in the restaurants are mostly local folks; we weren't cheek to jowl with a bunch of tourists. The neighborhood is primarily residential, pleasant and quiet. We spent a fair amount of time watching the passing local scene out of our 3rd floor window. The supermercato is a block away and offered everything we needed, including some very nice wines for $1.60U.S. per bottle! Pharmacy, produce shops, pastry shops etc all nearby. Finally, it's a short walk to stations on two different metro lines, and indeed not a very long walk to get to most of the major sites to visit in Barcelona if you choose to walk. So getting around is quite simple. All-in-all, we were very pleased with our choice.

Nous avons séjourné 10 jours dans cet appartement et nous nous sentions comme chez nous. Jose qui nous attendait, nous a très bien accueillis et nous a donné beaucoup d'informations sur Barcelone. Le quartier est tranquille et très sécuritaire. Nous étions proches du métro, de la Sagard Familia, de toutes les œuvres extraordinaires de Gaudi . L'appartement était bien organisé et nous avons beaucoup apprécié de pouvoir laver notre linge avant de poursuivre notre voyage. Par contre, un tout petit point mériterait d'être amélioré: le divan du salon aurait besoin d'être un peu plus confortable. En tout temps nous pouvions compter sur Jose et il s'est même occupé de nous réserver un taxi pour le matin de notre départ. C'est certain que nous retournerons dans les appartements de José, si nous avons l'occasion de revenir à Barcelone, ville extraordinairement belle !

We had a wonderful visit in Jose's apt in Barcelona. The apt is in a great location- convenient to various metro stops, shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. We were able to walk to most sites and enjoyed the neighborhood feel. Jose was more than helpful before and during our stay. He was quick to answer and help with any of our questions about the city and apt. We were very happy with our lodging choice and were so happy we rented Jose's apt. Wonderful vacation

Just came back from Barcelona. We had an absolutely wonderful stay in this apartment. The listing description of location and amenities of the apartment is very accurate, so are photos. Close proximity to the metro was a huge plus, we made a few day trips using renfe trains (Monserrat, Figueres, Girona). The owner was very helpful and very easy to communicate with, he answered all our questions promptly. The apartment had all the amenities we needed, so three adults felt really comfortable there after busy tourist activities. Grocery store is around the corner. Kitchen is fully equipped with all the basic necessities. So we had a several great dinners at home with wonderful local wines. If we are ever in Barcelona again we'll definitely stay at the same place.

We stayed my husband and me for a full week at this wonderful flat in the heart of it all. We would have been completely content to just stay in the apartment--that's how comfortable it was! However, we ventured out and are so glad that we did! Within short walking distance are restaurants, supermarkets, bakery, coffeshops..... The owners are a terrific resource, and he give us a lot of information. We cannot wait to return to Barcelona, and will undoubtedly stay at the same place.

Great Location, Great Place, Wonderful Host

Ok... 1st time to Barcelona. On a map, wasn't sure how far/close this was to the sites we wanted to see. We didn't have a car, and we wanted a local, in-the-community feel. We found it here! Close to the metro - 1 block. Close to Sagrada Familia - 10 minute walk. Walk or Metro or Bus to La Ramba. Walk 15 minutes to the prime shopping areas. This is a Residential area. Watch Barcelona life outside the window. Simple, Clean, Quiet apartment. Modern building! Jose, the owner, is accommodating and helpful. He helped us book ticket to Paris and got us the cab to the airport. For excellent Catalan food, walk around the corner. Tapas - 3 blocks down the street. Grocery Store - next block, Metro - 1 block. We had our niece with us. The 2 bedroom place was larger than a hotel room and much more homey. Internet access available! The kitchen was fully functional. Great for simple meals. We cooked our Feast of the 3 Kings dinner there. It worked. Enjoy!

Perfect location for a Barcelona vacation!

This apartment is located in the Eixample district - a beautiful neighborhood with the shops and restaurants that the locals use. Close enough to many sites but far enough away for a quiet evening! I traveled with my husband and teenage daughter and we were able to walk to many areas of the city directly and used the Metro to go the farther points. Jose met us promptly as we arrived and showed us how to work the appliances and heat. The apartment was spotless and everything is in good working order. The bedrooms are in the back of the building so no noise will wake you. A very nice supermarket is just one block away as well as multiple cafes and restaurants. I would not hesitate to rent from Jose - he answers all questions promptly and is extremely helpful.

Jose was an excellent property manager, waiting for us at the doorstep of the unit upon arrival, and providing us with much information about the city and surrounding neighborhood. The unit is accurately photographed, clean and bright, and the futon and chair in the lounge are as comfortable as pictured. The beds in the unit were very comfortable. Great shower. The kitchen came in handy to cook a few meals. Basic necessities were provided like oil, seasonings, and coffee maker. Washer was handy for laundry, the "dryer" is a cloths rack, typical for Europe. Fairly quiet area and we were able to sleep in comfortably. Everything within walking distance, and we walked alot. Stores and restaurants same block, 5 min. walk to purple line metro, 20 min to Renfe Passig de Gracia station.

Dear Jose, we can’t thank you enough for your hospitality, warmness and help. Our first visit to Barcelona was great. We felt like at home in your cozy apartment were we found everything we needed for our staying – very clean, in great location close to Passeig de Gràcia, Plaça de Catalunya, La Rambla, Sagrada Família, etc. You provided very useful information about surrounded restaurants, stores, transportation, events. Your advice to get 2 days “Hop on Hop off” bus tour was a brilliant. We were able to see and visit a lot of places that probably wouldn’t be possible if we decided to use only city transportation. The info about Magic Fountains is much appreciated. Whenever we needed help or info, we always got a quick response from you. We couldn’t go wrong with our choice to rent your apartment. We liked your city a lot. We were amazed by extraordinary architecture, people and nice energetic atmosphere. It’s was very nice time spent.. Your generosity made our stay in Barcelona unforgettable.

We stayed in this apartment in Fall, 2009 and again in September 2011. We really enjoy the residential location with markets, a school, shops, and restaurants nearby. The apartment has a large window that opens over the pedestrian traffic of the neighborhood. The metro is quick and easy access from the apartment; many sights, including the Sagrada Familia are easy walks. Jose is a great host. He is friendly and helpful and provides information for first time (and return) visitors. Thanks for the nice stay.

We stayed in this apartment for 3 nights in September. It is in a nice, safe, residential neighborhood with restaurants, cafes, a grocery store, and metro stops nearby. It was walking distance to Sagrada Familia and other major tourist attractions. Jose was very helpful with answering all questions, he even called us a taxi on our last day so we could get to the train station. The apartment was very clean and quiet. I would definitely reccommend staying here, we were very pleased.

My husband and my two teenage girls stayed at Jose's apartment in July for 5 days. It was the perfect place from which to explore Barcelona. There is a grocery store across the street. We enjoyed walking to most places and took the metro, which was only 2 blocks away, when we needed to go some place further. Jose was very helpful. He recommended a rental car company close to the apartment, a place to see flaminco dancing, he printed the tickets for the show and dropped them off at the apartment. He also called a taxi for us to come to the apartment when we were ready to leave. The apartment is located in a residential area. We felt very safe walking around at night. We had a great time in Barcelona! It is a beautiful city! I would love to live there. Thank you Jose for a perfect stay!!

July 2011 Family vacation in Spain

This is a great apartment in the perfect location. I purchased a 10 ride pass on the metro but only used 3 since everything was within walking distance. After staying in hotels for 6 days in Madrid and 4 in Sevilla, this apartment felt like home. Jose was very gracious and promptly met us when we arrived. he actually stood outside the building and directed the taxi to the entrance of the building. We highly recommend this apartment.

Perfect apt in perfect location

We just returned from our trip from Barcelona. If you need a great apartment in a great area, this is the place.There were 3 of us and it was perfect. Everything you need is included except for your food and toiletries. We ate breakfast in every morning and shopped in the neighborhood for all our groceries and needs. Jose Antonio is always welcoming to any information or questions you may have. The neighborhood is conveniently located so you can walk a few blocks to catch the metro and just a few blocks to the Sagrada Familia- Gaudi. It was fun just to stay in the neighborhood to shop, buy fruit and groceries and then stroll the neighborhood for hundreds of choices to eat dinner. There were other hot spots to see that we ran out of time to visit. Since we know the area now, we willl adjust beautifully to the walking and metro. There are also a taxi to take you here and there available all the time. Thanks Jose Antonio for making our visit so welcoming. We hope to return someday and we would rent your apartment again. PS. I am back only one day and already miss my coffee o leche! Ciao

My husband, daughter and I arrived in Barcelona on a Sunday afternoon. Jose told us to call when we arrived and he would meet us at the apartment. We called and 30 minutes later Jose led us into a clean, well appointed apartment - exactly as described. Jose then walked us through everything in the apartment so we would know how to use things. He oriented us by showing us our location on a map and gave us all sorts of tips to help us begin our exploration of the city. He told us where to find groceries, restaurants and the metro as well as how and where we might choose to walk. He was extremely attentive to any request we had - even finding us a teenager to go shopping and practice Spanish with our young teenage daughter! Jose and the apartment were a great find and I would happily recommend his apartments and would stay there again on any future trips to Barcelona.

We, two adults, stayed in the apartment for 9 days. It was perfect. It is just as pictured in the ads, clean, modern and well maintained. Location is a great neighborhood that offers a respite from the hussle of the tourist areas, but provides easy access by metro, bus or walking to all the sites. There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants right out the door. The owner is extremely responsive during the reservation process and provides a warm welcome & helpful information on arrival! Jose provided his number so that we could call anytime during our stay if we had problems or just wanted information about the area. We would highly recommend renting from Jose.

We really enjoyed our three day stay at this apartment. Jose was there to meet us on the street as promised when we arrived by taxi from the Airport. The apartment was very clean with everything needed for a long or short holiday. Jose gave us the 'local tips'. regarding places to eat, supermarket,metro etc. We found the location really good and we walked almost everywhere - to the city, La Rambla and Sagrada Familia but it is also very close to the metro. Jose was a very helpful host and we highly recommend this apartment and will certainly stay there again when we return to Barcelona.

A slice of local life

My husband and I recently stayed at Jose's apartment with our two year old son. It was so nice to arrive our first night and meet Jose and Chelo. Jose pointed out key tourist attractions and recommended restaurants on a map. Jose was super friendly, responsive, and flexible to our needs. The apartment was located in such a cute and diverse neighborhood complete with a supermarket, mom and pop shops, and a well stocked pharmacy. I enjoyed drinking my morning tea and people watching from the kitchen window. I really felt like we were living like locals for the week which we wouldn't have felt if we stayed at a big hotel in a tourist area. The apartment was comfortable, clean, and stylish. It was great to have a toddler playground right downstairs too. For anyone traveling with a small child, it's great to have a market and pharmacy one block away. I highly recommend Jose and his apartments to anyone who is seeking an authentic and fun travel adventure.

We really enjoyed staying here and loved the location. You can walk to a lot of great restaurants, bars, and in 5 minutes by metro to the beach. The beds are comfortable, great shower and bath, and the kitchen is stocked with all you would need. I also really appreciate the fact that there was soap, toilet paper, and dish detergent b/c we have stayed at a lot of apartments where those things were not available upon arrival. Jose were very helpful during our entrance waiting for us at the exit of the metro and during our stay. We contact with Jose 4 times during our stay asnwering him questions, and we have all the answers in 5 minutes. It was really great to have AC since we don't have any in our Paris apartment and it was hot in Barcelona. Barcelona and Jose are just beautiful. The stay has given us so many wonderful memories. Dear Jose, Our family had a wonderful time in Barcelona. The apartment was ideally situated to Sagrada Familia, close to the red tour bus stop (6 blocks away) and close to the Arc De Triomph. My kids looked forward to getting back to the apartment in the evening after the day long execursions. Your help and hints on going to Montserrat were very useful. If we come back to Barcelona, we will get in touch with you. The apartment was clean. The kitchen was very handy and extremely useful for making breakfasts and dinners. My kids felt at home and this made the trip all the more pleasant.

For value, comfort and access to the sights this is the place.Everything you need is here in the apartment. It's central location. But, its strength is its host-Jose. He is genuinely friendly and committed to seeing that your stay is an enjoyable one. His suggestions as what to see and do, and he was always online to help us in anythinkg we may need. The apartment was exactly as described and pictured. Jose even called us a taxi to the airport at the end of our trip. All perfect....

A friend recommend us to stay in Jose's apartment. We spent a week in Barcelona with our two children and our baby and the apartment was a perfect place to call 'home' whilst exploring this fantastic city! Jose was wonderful and provided a brilliant service - taking the time to show us through the apartment and its many features,given to us all the information about the city we need. It was also no trouble for our hosts to arrange a baby cot and provide a very cheap parking space near the apartment- little touches that made a big difference. Thanks for providing such a great experience. We will definitely stay again and going on recommending this apartment to all of our friends.

My husband, our teenage son and daughter just came back from visiting Barcelona and stayed for four nights in this apartment. Jose Antonio the owner very friendly and ready to welcome us with a wealth of information on the Barcelona area and vicinity. He had maps of the area and also public transportation maps and schedules. The apartment had internet and down the street on Diputacion street we were able to find an internet shop where we were able to print our airline boarding passes. Location was very accesible to major attractions in Barcelona. Walking distance approximate 7 blocks to the Sagrada Familia. Within a block you have parking, gas station, grocery stores, pharmacy. Safe neighborehood. Some nice restaurants are Mayura Restaurant (Indian cuisine) on Girona Street between Diputacion and Gran Via, also on Paseo de Gracia very reasonable near Diputacion St. is QuQu restaurant. I would stay here again if we come back to Barcelona. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

We really enjoyed our three day stay at this apartment. Jose was there to meet us and take us through the apartment and give us the 'local tips'. We found the location really good and we walked everywhere - to the city, to the harbour, to La Rambla and to Sagrada Familia which just five minutes away - and this included two teenage children. I am highly recommending this apartment and would certainly stay there again if I go back to Barcelona.

When we look back we chose your apartment without a whole lot of thought. Since we knew nothing about Barcelona we were at a loss in chosing the "correct" location. As it turned out the apartment was ideal for us, both in the apartment amenities and its location. It is a simple apartment, but has everything we needed to make it our home away from home. We shopped for groceries in the store just around the corner. Breakfast usually consisted of omelets with cheese, bread, jam and coffee. Later in the morning we would go out and walk the 2 blocks to the Metro, which could take us anywhere in the city. We were only a 10-minute walk from the Sagrada Familia, and we felt like we were in a real neighborhood of the city. When the Pope visited we watched him go by in the Popemobile from our window! The small local restaurants around the corner served wonderful typical food which we enjoyed every time we at there. Our only problem with the restaurants is that the menus on the chalk board were in Catalan, so eating was also an adventure. Jose was very helpful in getting us started, answering our questions, and then leaving us alone. The listing photos and description were very accurate. We would definitely recommend any of his 3 apartments to our friends or relatives. Thank you Jose for a wonderful vacation rental.

This apartment surpassed our expectations and quickly became a home-away-from-home for us in Barcelona. Clean, functional and pretty, it also gave us a perfectly located base from which to explore a marvelous city. We loved the safe and centrally located neighborhood, watching families go about their daily routine in the street below, being able to get an excellent cup of coffee with a breakfast "bocadillo" or a glass of wine with tapas just steps away and felt part of that great city. We'll tell all our friends about this amazing "find" and we shall return ourselves!

My husband and I stayed in this lovely apartment for 15 days this past October. (2011) It was the best possible choice we could have made for our lodging. We wanted to have our own coffee each morning without going out, and to have some meals without having to eat out three times a day for 15 days. The kitchen had everything we needed and was clean and well organized. We could travel light as there was a nice washing machine in the apartment. The neighborhood was exactly as described, in a family neighborhood, with metro stops a few short minutes away..several little grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and other stores just a block and a half away. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom was situated so that there was no street noise...but even the street was a quiet one. Our host, Jose, met us at the apartment and showed us how everything worked. He was easily available by email for any questions. The wifi, which was very important to us worked perfectly all through the apartment. We were within walking distance of the Sagrada Familia and Casa Mila , and the street, Passieg de Gracia which had some of the best shopping we have ever encountered..and we are world travelers. When we return to Barcelona we will stay. With Jose in this Beautiful, clean , comfortable apartment or any of the others he has. Jose went out of his way to help us In so many ways...We felt we were with a very good friend...cannot say enough good things about this VRBO experience. I only wish he had apartments in Paris!,, Thank you Jose for a perfect lodging experience.

We Spent 30 days in Europe and by far our stay in Barcelona was our favorite. The apt is great and we had our best sleep there. It is quite, within walking distance to everything, underground is 2 blocks away. You really felt like a local and had all the tourist things at your finger tips. Jose was awesome, he sits down with you and answers all your questions and really makes sure you are well taken care of. We will be back to stay longer.

We stayed at the apartment for four nights. Jose was an excellent and considerate host. We came by taxi and he met us on the street to guide the taxi on its final stretch since the apartment could be hard to find on the first try. He equipped us with maps and metro information and when we told him we'd forgotten to bring a plug-in adapter for our camera and ipod chargers, he brought one back to us the next day. The apartment was simple but clean and functional. The kitchen looked fully equipped. The air-conditioning worked really well. The apartment was away from the busy epic center of the city but was convenient with two nearby metro stations. We were able to get to Las Ramblas, the beach and everywhere else with no problem. I would recommend this VRBO without reservation.

Traveled with husband and 9-year old son. The apartment was great for our needs. Major attractions are very walkable, metro station near, an ATM right down the building, grocery right around the block, and restaurants nearby. The apartment was clean when we arrived. Jose, a very friendly host, met us when we arrived. He offered that we call him or email him if we need anything. The place has an air-condition that cools the place well. Coming from a cruise, having the washer in the apartment really helped. The apartment is located on the third floor, but there is an elevator/lift. The elevator was big enough to accommodate the 3 of us and 3 pieces of BIG luggage. I would use Jose's place again if we are ever back in Barcelona. Thanks Jose!

Jose spotted us on the side walk outside his apartment as we were checking building numbers for his apartment building. It was easy to converse with Jose for we are Americans with little Spanish and Jose was fluent in English. The apartment is in the portion of Barcelona where most of the tourist sites are within walking distance(La Ramba, Sagrada familia, etc). A subway stop is 2 blocks away and it is real easy to use. The neighbourhood is small shops with apartments above and is real safe, as I think all of Barcelona is. Then residences of the area are going about their business, walking dogs, shopping, going to work. At the road intersection on the end of the block many taxis go by. When we were leaving one was parked at the intersection. Apartment 3 we stayed in had 2 bedrooms, bathroom , kitchen and a real roomy living room with TV,dining table and couch. The Wifi was fast and efficient. Everything was clean and rather new looking. I think the apartment building is the newest one on the block. There are numerous sidewalk cafe's, fruit stores and convenient stores on the block and on adjacent blocks. A supermarket is on a adjacent block. It was a real comfortable stay perfect for exploring Barcelona and would not hesitate in coming back to that apartment.

This apartment was perfect for us. It was residential enough to feel like part of the city; yet, it was just a few minutes walk from important sites, metro stops, buses, cafes, and a grocery store. We returned from a one week stay in Barcelona. We stayed in Joses' flat which was an immaculate place, pleasant, centrally located, clean. The apartment is kitted out for comfort, with subtle, earthy textures and prints creating its own unique vibe. But most of all it is Jose who helps us in any information we needs, and help us in get our objectives. This is our first time staying in a flat instead of a hotel and with a landlord like Jose I would always do that. Jose was there for us including late at night, or early in the morning.

We have just stayed 10 nights in Jose's apartment. It is VERY clean and close to the metro lines. We walk every place around what was really near (Sagrada Familia...). We were 4 friends (all girls) in the apartment, but felt it was a very safe area. I would definetly recommend renting from Jose. Hi Jose, ..................... We're having a great time with perfect weather for sightseeing. I went to Barcelona a few times now, and in this ocasion i was there in a business trip with my wife, so i wanted a place safe and quiet. I m glad i found this location. Overall it was not far from public transports and it is in a safe part of town where you can find everything you need and go everywhere by foot.
