My husband and I had a wonderful time visiting this area. The condo was just what we needed....very clean and so many activities within walking distance....many good restaurants and shopping near the condo. A family of four could stay here. We will plan to stay at Pilot House again ....we have told many friends about this great find!! Hope to return soon for more fun and relaxation....GPGRecommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

I recently took my children to this condo and it was amazing! It is so inviting and warm with wonderful beachy touches. Clean, cozy, quaint, and comfortable are just a few of the words I would use. From the secluded patio perfect for taking morning coffee to the large TVs great for a rainy afternoon movie to the well-supplied kitchen which made it easy to fix snacks...this Pilot House condo is just right. It is quiet enough for sleeping late but the hustle and bustle of Baytowne Village is just steps away when a little more excitement is needed. Baytowne is full of fun...great shopping and restaurants, a huge playground, and fun kid activities like a real carousel! The beach is just a short drive away and the gorgeous pool is only an elevator ride up! My kids had a fabulous time and we will definitely return any time we have a chance. If you are looking for the ideal beach retreat, this Pilot House condo is it!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The pictures were very accurate and the property was very clean. We really enjoyed the close proximity to the Baytowne Village. It was very comfortable and quiet. Fun to walk around the village at night. I would recommend this property and would enjoy staying here again. It was an easy process to rent. This is an excellent property at a great price.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We have traveled and stayed at Baytowne for years and really enjoy this resort. However, this unit was not quite as nice as some of the others. There wasn't alot of special touches for comfort. The Master bath tub needs to be fixed and according to the guest book I am not the only one who agrees. No good view off the balcony just trees and traffic. Would also be nice if the owner offered beach chairs and umbrella in the units closet. It is not terrible but just stayed in better.Owner response: Thanks so much for staying with us; I really appreciate it considering the amount of choices that are available. I appreciate the review that you provided and I'm sorry to hear that your stay was just "Ok". As the owner, I have always tried to provide my guests with the best accommodations possible at a reasonable and fair rate. I appreciate your suggestion about providing beach chairs and an umbrella and have asked that these items be purchased and provided for my guests going forward. In regards to the issue with the tub, since I live out of town and rarely get to use the condo I was not aware of a problem and neither was the Management Company that handles my rentals. My unit has been rented solid since May and you're the first person that has reported any type of problem or issue, so Thank You for letting me know. Since the time the review was received, I have asked that a Plumber be dispatched to my unit and whatever problem exists that it be fixed. As for your comment about the balcony and the view, I’m surprised that the tremendous amount of shade and seclusion that it offers was not appealing as it has been for all our other guests. As the photo and description on VRBO shows, my unit is on the first floor and has a porch with a small yard instead of a small restricted balcony and provides a great atmosphere to sit with friends and family. In fact, many of our guests have loved the fact that the shaded and fenced yard offers a secure place for their kids to play without having to worry about them wandering off or falling on hard concrete. In addition, the easy access to the Village and the ability to pull bikes right up onto the porch has been a real positive with guests over the past three years. Finally, I'm not real sure what you meant by "special touches for comfort" but would definitely welcome your suggestions on things we could do to make the guest experience better. We already offer wireless internet service, provide a small stereo for our guests to use, have two DVD players, and have a small library of books available for our guests to enjoy during their stay so I'm not sure what other items you are refering to. I have spoken with my Rental Manager and asked that she give you a call to discuss the suggestions that you have. Thanks again for staying with us! Brad Unit Owner

My wife and I wanted to visit the Destin area for a weekend getaway. We were very fortunate to find this great deal on a very nice condo in Sandestin and inside the VILLAGE of BAYTOWNE WHARF! We love being in this spot. We could relax in a comfortable and cozy condo, stroll to any of the great restaurants or bar and grills inside the village and get to the beach in no time. It was great to have a kitchen in the room and a two bathrooms were very convenient. One of my favorite spots was the quiet back patio. Plenty of shade and it was a very good spot to read and relax. We hope to visit again and would recommend this to our friends.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We loved our stay here. We stayed three days and nights. We snorkeled, rode our bikes all over the beautiful property, sat in a hot tub and next to an outdoor fire, ate dinner at PF Changs one night, and grilled steaks out by the pool the other two nights. A Baytowne employee even lit the huge and clean gas grill for us. WOW! The unit has a full kitchen and sleeps up to 4 people. The roof top pool was awesome and there was a beautiful outdoor fireplace that you can flip a light switch to turn on. It's great for a get away with your spouse or just a girl's/guy's weekend away.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

When we had the opportunity to purchase a vacation home, Sandestin was the easy choice. Since we have been spending vacations here at the resort for over 20 years; it was only fitting that we continue our own vacations with family and friends here at Sandestin. The resort allows you to quietly relax by the pool or be in the middle of it all in the Village with restaurants, nightlife, concerts and special events. There is something here for everyone!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
I love to spend my time on the rooftop pool at Pilot House, jogging on the trails around the resort, watching the sunset at the Marina or laying on the white beaches of the Gulf . . . I sometimes sneak away for a spa treatment or run over to the outlet mall (less than a mile from the resort entrance). Brad loves to play Baytowne or the Raven Golf Course on the Resort or take a 10 minute drive over to Kelly Plantation or Emerald Bay. Our first floor condo makes is convenient for loading and unloading luggage and groceries, as well as an easy way to ride into the backyard with bikes. Don’t miss out on the simple pleasure of taking a bike ride through the resort – there are miles of bike trails and great neighborhoods to explore! Our favorite part of Sandestin is the FOOD! You cannot go wrong with any of the resort’s restaurants. Our favorites include Marlin Grill (the crab cakes and calamari are a must!), Acme Oyster House (great po-boys), Barefoots Poolside Grill (at the Hilton’s Pool Deck), Busters (about a mile from the resort – great place to watch college football in a casual atmosphere), The Donut Hole (blueberry cake donut is to die for!), Red Bar at Grayton Beach, the Back Porch in Destin (a Destin landmark), and Cantina Loredo at Sandestin Grand Boulevard (wonderful Sunday Brunch).
