Over the past several years, we have rented a number of condominiums through VRBO. Unit 1314 at Ocean Pointe in Tavernier was one of our best experiences. The Ocean Pointe property is in a very good location, about an hour or so from Miami and less than two hours from Key West. The property itself is well-maintained: the grounds, pool, tennis courts, and common areas were all great. In particular, the pool is clean and more than big enough to swim laps for exercise. There is a guard house at the entrance of the property, which gives you a nice sense of security while staying there. Not to mention some entertaining moments if Frankie is in a dancing mood. Unit 1314 had everything we could have wanted in a rental condo. The front bedroom has two twin beds, and an entry into the full bath that also has a door off the hallway. The kitchen opens into the family/living room, and has plenty of counter space. A large flat-screen TV faces the sofa and loveseat, and was a great place to relax. There is a second flat-screen TV in the master bedroom, which has a comfortable king-sized bed and plenty of extra room to spare. WiFi is available throughout the property for a reasonable daily or weekly rate. We communicated with Cindy (the owner) by e-mail, and she was very responsive and helpful when we had questions. If we ever head back to the Florida Keys again, we would have no reservations about staying here again.

Wow an amazing condo and property the condo was ver well equipped and the master bed was quite comfy, the property was immaculent and the staff were all just extremely friendly, my husband and I were there for a full wk and just had the time of our lives we look so forward to staying in Cindy's condo next summer it is well located to many things and if you have any questions or concern's Cindy is just a phone call away and extremly helpful. Ocean Pointe Condo

My family and I spent last week at your Tavernier, FL condo (April 22-29). We were looking for a very quiet, peaceful vacation. That is exactly what we got at Ocean Pointe. We were all extremely pleased with the condo, all of the Ocean Pointe amenities, the endless activities in the local area, the restaurants, etc. The condo was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. We especially loved the ocean view and watching the Osprey nest. As you recommended, my son scheduled a scuba dive with Quiescence Diving Center. He had a fabulous dive. We all enjoyed the pool almost every day. We took our 2 year old grandson down to the gazebo at the marina to watch the sunrise each morning. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather the entire week. All in all, it was a great family vacation with my husband, son and his wife and my grandson. Thanks Cindy!

Condo has everything you need, plenty of room & is nicely decorated. Resort is also very nice with a great pool,nice little beach for sunbathing and tropical landscaping all around.

Our stay was wonderful, the condo was clean & well stocked! We cooked every night & enjoyed the water view from two lanai's!! Cindy was available by phone to answer any questions we had! We would stay here again in the future!

Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

Best condo in the complex

A group of us divers have stayed at Ocean Point for several years, renting from the local management company. The complex is well maintained and offers anything you could want for the vacation experience. In the past, all of the rental units have shown their wear and tear. Then I ventured over to VRBO and found Cindy’s condo. What a treat!! The unit is very clean and very well appointed and one of the best equipped condos I have stayed in. It is beautifully decorated and has two balconies that provide a view of the ocean both from the living room and the master suite. One of us slept on the air mattress and enjoyed it so much, he’s thinking about buying one just like it. We have already started planning for next year and will definitely stay at Cindy’s place again.

There is such a thing as truth in advertising! We have stayed in two condos in the complex and this one is the nicer of the two, having just returned from an 8-night stay. It is in the building that is furthest from the beach (<5 min walk) which also makes it quiet and very pleasant but still very close to everything. Our family of 5 (including kids aged 17, 15, and 10) loved it. It is very clean and is one of the best equipped condos we have ever stayed at (we have rented through VRBO all over the country). Lots of cookware, blender for frozen drinks, plenty of places to sit. Beautifully decorated and unit has two balconies which is rare in the complex and provides a view of the ocean both from the living room and the master suite. Ceiling fans in each room make the air conditioning optional! As others have said, the complex is very clean, well-maintained, and quiet at night. The large pool is beautiful with a small (4-person) hot tub. The manmade beach is clean but the entry to the water can be rocky due to natural coral so bring water shoes to protect your feet. On site bar/cafe makes great food that is affordable. Lots of things to do nearby including Robbie's (20'), Anne's Beach (25'), Marathon (45'), Bahia Honda (60'), and Key West (< 2h). Plenty of great places to eat nearby including the fabuolous Chad's Deli (don't let the name fool you!). Harry Harris park is right down the street (1 mi) and has a wonderful protected beach for kids and a nice bike trail. Food shopping < 2 mi away at Winn Dixie along with CVS and a movie theatre. The owner was very responsive to email and telephone and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. A+!

I had a wonderful time at this lovely Ocean Pointe Condo. It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The view of the ocean from the living room and master bedroom was amazing. The property was beautiful. There were flowers blooming everywhere! I would definitely stay here again!

GREAT snorkeling

One of the best vacations my family and I have ever taken...Which includes but not limited to multiple theme parks and excellent family vacation locations including all of Disney,Six Flags, Smokey Mountains, Destin Florida, Hawaii, etc,etc..Nothing can compare with half day snorkel trip on the live coral reef with guide Johnny Peacock.We will definitely make this trip again with more time being spent in the Keys. Food was great and recommendations on restaurants from owner was right on. My oldest son which is 16 said one of the recommended locations that it was the best shrimp he had ever had. My wife's comment was It one of the best vacations we have ever taken together in 29 years...Need I say more...Definatley take this trip and stay at this condo for a great time in the upper keys... Be sure to take that snorkel trip...

My wife and I stayed here for a week with our 2 young children (the resort was recommended by a friend of ours who lives in the Florida keys). The condo is in great condition with first class ammenities. We really enjoyed our stay - particularly the pool, children's playground and beach area. There is also lots to do in the vicinity - wildlife parks, trails, snorkling and boat trips as well as shopping.

Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing.

Great Family Getaway

My family ventured down to the Keys during our kids' (ages 11 and 9) recent spring break. It was our first family vacation there, and our first time renting from Cindy. We had a fantastic time in many ways. This condo is very central to soooo many different activities. During our five night rental we did the following: Made a day trip to Key West (about an 1 1/2 hr. drive), visited the Theater of the Sea for dolphin and sea lion shows, went to Robby's to shop and feed the tarpons, went snorkeling, went on a glass bottom boat sunset cruise, and visited Bahia Honda Beach (voted one of the best beaches in all of Florida). In addition to the many activities, the restaurants were also great. Our two favorites were Marker 88 and Sundowners. As for the condo and complex itself, it was better than advertised. Very clean, right off the elevator (3rd floor unit), great pool and beach areas, nice tennis and basketball courts, a nice cafe offering three meals a day as well as internet access if needed. Cindy was a treat to deal with and we will definitely be renting from her again.

We recently stayed here for a week after Christmas, and we couldn't have been more pleased. It was clean, well stocked with linens, appliances, dishes and anything else that you would need. We had a great week and enjoyed all the ammmenities of the resort from the beach, hot tub, pool, kayaks etc.It was more than comfortable and very centrally located to attractions, beaches, shopping and anything else you would want on vacation. We highly recommend this property.

We stayed at the condo for 2 months (Jan 4 to Mar 3). Had a wonderful time. The complex has all you could want (swimming, tennis, beach, cafe & bar, beautiful grounds). Spacious condo with wonderful views of the ocean and sunrise. Plenty to do close by or just a short drive. Well worth the trip down.

This is a wonderful Condo in every way, beautifully decorated and maintained. It is in a ideal position from which to explore the keys. The gated community staff are helpful and efficient and helped us have a very relaxing holiday.

When we arrived in this complex ( Ocean Point) we saw it was very safe in this complex. The condo and the complex are very good equipped. Al what you can see on the foto’s and what is written (in the vacation rental features) is equal to what is in the condo or on/near the complex. Cynthia ( the owner) is verry helpfull. It is a marveless condo, clean, good decorated and luxurious. My family and I stayd there for several days and we had a very good time there.

Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just got back from a week in this condo. My 12 year old son just got certified for SCUBA and we wanted easy shallow dives and a place to stay with washer/dryer and kitchen. This condo is very nice, well stocked kitchen although we mainly used it for snacks and breakfast before dives. This is a great place for families. Pool was nice but we were too tired from diving to use it! Great view of mangroves and gulf. We went to the docks late one afternoon and watched the fishing boats come in and some families snorkeling in the roped off area. We would definitely stay here again and I researched a LOT of places. Thanks for a nice place to rest and regenerate after diving. I read 2 books while I was there!

Private accommodations in a beautiful complex with everything you could ask for. Comfy beds, full kitchen, ocean views from living room and bedroom. Large pool, picturesque beach with clubhouse and marina. Close to Key Largo for snorkeling or diving trips to the reefs of Pennekamp Park. Close to Islamorada for sightseeing and gallery shopping. Numerous restaurants within a few miles. Perfect lodging for relaxing after fishing or diving the beautiful Keys waters. We highly recommend this condo and the convenience of dealing directly with the owner.

My wife and I have been finishing our new home in Plantation Key and have had the occasion to stay in this condo 4-5 times over the last 5 months. We originally stayed in this unit with the previous owner and we have even had the occasion to stay at some Ocean Point condos rented directly through the resort. Besides OP, we have stayed at some of the other local resorts including the major chain name a couple miles North. ***News Flash***This is the condo to stay at by far if you are staying at Ocean Point or anywhere else locally and you need a 2BR/2BA. Completely remodeled a few months ago, this condo is beautifully appointed. The kitchen is fully equipped with every gadget and small appliance you can think of. The dining/living area is nicely appointed and very comfortable. My favorite part though is the pillow top or plush beds. I have slept like a baby when staying here. Having stayed at several units at OP, folks - there is no comparasion. This condo rocks!! This is truly one of the finest 2BR condos at Ocean Point, which by the way is a beautiful condominium complex with all the amenities. You'll be doing yourself a favor by booking this unit if it's available.
