Map & Owner's Profile

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
The island of choice for us had always been Maui throughout the ‘80s and ‘90’s until a opportunity came up in June of 2000 to visit the north shore of Kauai. It was clear after the first day there that this was the new Hawaiian destination. The slow pace, exceptional beauty and relatively untouched land and seascape makes the Hanalei-Princeville area fit the descriptions one hears about what Hawaii was like before World War II. As it turned out, the right house in the right location at the right price came together on a trip later in 2000 and the dream of a “place in Hawaii” finally became a reality.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The location in Princeville and the fact that this is a free-standing home and not a condo with a yard and great vegetation together make for guaranteed satisfaction on every visit. Shopping, golf and tennis are all within walking distance and the fabled beach on Hanalei Bay is a short 10 minute drive away. Some of the best times have been had while taking whale watching tours around the island, going deep sea fishing, hiking the many trails through the mountains and trying (whatever the name is for riding the cable runs through the forest) for the first time. That and more awaits anyone coming to this getaway for the 1st or 50th time.
The St. Regis Princeville. Newly redone and a great place to get a drink and watch the sun set over the Bali Hai. Just 5 minutes away.
Just a few minutes by car, Hanalei bay is a great beach for the family to enjoy.
Great beach in the Spring and Summer months. Can be dangerous in the fall and winter.
Owner's Map of Private Homes
I started making trips to Hawaii in 1970 when my mom gave me a round trip ticket to Honolulu as a college graduation present. I’ve probably visited the islands at least once per year ever since then. Being a native Californian and always living in California going to Hawaii seems like the best and closest place to go for a getaway whether for rest and relaxation or the excitement and adventure the islands offer. I can’t imagine a better, more affordable destination that is both exotic and laid back at the same time.

We stayed here for the month of June 2011. The home was just as described and had many ammenities for use on our adventures. The location was great as it is close to many of the beaches, grocery store and restaurants. The owner was great to work with and we would stay here again if the opportunity comes around again. Thanks for making our trip memorable.
