A House in the Garden is minutes from wherever you want to be; Mystic Seaport and Aquarium, Mohegan and Foxwoods Casinos, a dozen world class golf courses, numerous theaters. United States Coast Guard Academy, Ct.College, Mitchell College, Brown University, and only one hour to Yale University. Florence Griswold Museum houses the worlds largest collection of New England Impressionist painters. There is shopping, antiquing, fishing, both saltwater and fresh, hiking, kayaking, superb sailing and soft sandy beaches with great surf.
We are most fortunate to be on the Connecticut Wine Trail. You may take a 20 minute walk to Jonathan Edwards Winery or hop in the car for a 5 minute drive to Stonington Vineyards. Both wineries offer tours and tastings.
There is never a season not to be here. All year long historic villages beckon to be explored; restaurants tantalize with their culinary delights and world class festivals such as Schmitzen promise you hours of unparalled entertainment.
A House in the Garden is divided into two self catering units which have the look and feel of a Cotswolds country cottage, especially since the surrounding English style gardens enclose them. The lovely long porch furnished with cozy wicker furniture and complimented with baskets of flowers is a perfect place to read, relax or dine alfresco.
The spacious living room decorated in blue and yellow adjoins the porch and fully equipped country kitchens are on each floor. The three bedrooms on the first floor are two queen,and one double each comfortably furnished and dressed in Waverly fabric. The two bedrooms and two baths on the second floor are ensuite and there is a separate diningroom and living area with acces to the garden.
