The Flip Flop Palace is an ideal hideaway for a couple, or a single traveler. (It can accommodate a couple more, as long as someone doesn't mind the sofa bed!)
The house was built for comfort and to maximize the sea breezes and views. Glass jalousie windows let both breeze and light fill the whole house. A partial wall sets off the bedroom from the living room, but allows for a very open feeling ideal for a couple or single.
This little house sits up high on the beach, and has 180 degree views of the Caribbean Sea. To the North you have views to a point occurring a couple of miles away. To the South, Maya Beach stretches for a mile and a half and it's dotted with small, pretty resorts and other private homes.
So what makes it a palace? Well, nothing really. We do provide high quality linens, towels, and cookware. But this place is all about comfort, not luxury. Next door, the small Maya Beach Hotel maintains a similar standard of affordable quality and its housekeeping and groundskeeping staff take care of the Flip Flop Palace.

We purchased the Flip Flop Palace to grow our little stretch of beach at the Maya Beach Hotel which we purchased in 2004. The Maya Beach area is such a friendly expat community yet it keeps you close to the wonderful villages and tourist sites in this area of Belize.
