Our log cabin mountain retreat is a 2000 square foot vacation home. It is located on private and secluded Tonche Mountain within minutes of fine dining and shops in the historic town of Woodstock. You will need to travel several miles of private road (great for walking and spectacular views) before reaching the cabin. The cabin is situated on 25 acres of secluded woods surrounded by hundreds of acres of private land and conservancy land. At 1200 ft. elevation you will have breathtaking views of the Catskill Mountains, valleys and sunsets. Wildlife is abundant and the mountain air is rejuvenating.
The cabin is built exclusively of pine wood with hardwood oak floors and custom tile on the first floor with carpeting in the master bedroom and loft. The loft is a great place to read a book, play a game or take in the view through our telescope. Watch a movie or sports in HD in our new TV/Movie room with theater seating and 3 couches. Play ping pong, foosball or darts in our unfinished basement. Enjoy a horseshoe match, a game of volleyball, a round of badminton or the glow of a fire under a starry sky sitting around the fire pit. Impressive hand placed fieldstone rock walls complement the landscape
Our home is child friendly and we have a crib, child gate, high chair and stroller. No pets. No smoking in the house.
Our Catskill Mountain Log Cabin Retreat is an ideal spot for couples weekends, family vacations, and family reunions. This is a very special place. Enjoy.

Been going here with my friends for three years and every time has been amazing! The view is simply fantastic. The board game collection is unmatched, pretty much every game you've heard of and more. The kitchen is really well equipped. And, of course, Jenny has always been super accommodating. All in all, a great way to spend a long weekend cooking up some delicious meals, going for walks in the woods, playing some games, and relaxing by the fire, both inside and out. Thanks to Jenny and Jody for sharing your lovely home!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The house is very cozy and is situated in a very picturesque remote spot. The location made us feel like we were very deep in the wilderness. The kitchen was very functional and well equipped; we made great meals every day. The media room was a fantastic place for our litttles ones to watch movies and play when it rained.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This was a fantastic vacation!!!! Pictures do not even compare to what you see in person. We saw all sorts of bird life, deer and where also fortunate to see the same bear twice. What an experiance. The homeowners even called to make sure we got in and settled and all was comfortable enough for us. We never had a vacation so memorable or views so beautiful. Thankyou again for a wonderful time, We highly recommend this property.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Ed and Eileen, We appreciate the hand made card with pictures from your family adventures. Happy you made fun family memories with your children. Regards, Jenny and Jody

We're definitely coming back! The grown ups and the kids are certain that this is where they want to spend next years summer vacation! We had an absolute blast! Let me just list a few reasons why ... early morning coffee on the deck, morning runs, walks, hikes, packing a lunch and adventuring outdoors to see all that the Catskills have to offer, seeing the wildlife in the woods, afternoon runs, walks, hikes, the views, the stars, the campfires, the bbq dinners, the ice cold cocktails, the cool and quiet nights, the pizza, the laughter, the memories ... just the perfect R&R summer retreat. 4 adults and 5 kids (ages 1-8).Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Dear Jenny, Our family had a quite an adventure at the cabin over the holidays this past December. We arrived with provisions just an hour before the recent "nor-easter" came rolling through. This is the same storm that dumped two feet of snow on NYC just after Christmas. Well we got a fire going, and settled in for an evening of 60+ MPH winds and snow. It was quite a storm, but the cabin was certainly up to the test. We never lost power, or even the internet! Mostly we played games and ping pong, and watched the fire long into the night. What a wonderful place... great views, clean, cozy and comfortable, and lots of room for a big crew. My wife and I and our two college-age sons had a wonderful time hiking in the snow, and just relaxing! The plow guy did a great job clearing the mountain roads, but I'm glad we had the 4X4 for this winter trip. We'd love to return for a summer visit sometime soon. Thanks for your hospitality and your phone calls and emails. We really had a great time, and would recommend the cabin to any family wanting to get away from it all, but still be just a 20 minute ride to town (Woodstock was very quaint). Also, just two hours from the GW bridge! Regards, George, Julie, Nick, and MikeRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time and the pictures don't do it justice. We were also impressed with the owners generosity after having rented other homes where even the salt and pepper was locked away. Everything you needed to have a great time was available. We saw hawks, deer, wild turkey and bear on the property.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Dear Jenny, Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful mountain retreat with us. We had a wonderful time doing yoga on the deck, cooking big dinners, and sitting around the fire. I only wish the weather was as beautiful as it was when we were leaving so we could have all enjoyed the views. The house set up was perfect for a friends getting together! Communicating with you to arrange the weekend was so easy which made the weekend so much more enjoyable. You even bought an ice cream scoop for the house so we could use it! I hope we can return to the cabin since it was such a fantastic spot. Thanks so much for all of your help!Owner response: This group stayed at the cabin the end of August 2009. I love the idea of a group doing Yoga on the deck looking out over the mountains. I smile thinking about this group of friends relaxing and enjoying each other at my cabin.

Jenny, Just a quick note to tell you that we had a wonderful time at your house on Tonche Mountain last week. It was everything you described, and more. We had great weather, hiked Overlook and Mt. Tremper (your suggestion, much appreciated), and ate at some of the better restaurants in the area, but the best part was the time spent at the house. Nothing could beat the mountain views when first emerging from the master bedroom, or that first cup of coffee on the deck. And my sons had never seen a bear or a barn owl in the wild, but now they have seen them both. I do hope to return some time. Best regards, MarkDid you find this review helpful?
