Dahlonega, the Georgia gateway to the Appalachians is the site of the first U.S. gold rush. Come pan for gold in historic Dahlonega on the Chestatee river. Dahlongea’s historic downtown is a short 20 minutes from this wonderful mountain home. There are many things to do in Dahlonega including outdoor sports like kayaking, tubing, whitewater rafting, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, golf, and cycling. A Nicklaus designed golf course lies minutes from the town square and Dahlonega has been designated as Georgia’s premier cycling community in addition to being one of the legs of the Tour de Georgia. The Chamber of Commerce hosts the 6 gap and 3 gap cycling events in September and October of each year.
If outdoors sports are not for you there are also several wineries/vineyards/restaurants in the area including Wolf Mountain Vineyards, Three Sisters Vineyards, Frogtown Vineyards, Blackstock Vineyards and Monteluce Vineyards. There are also many antique shops, arts and crafts shops, wildlife preserves and festivals to explore. Lake Lanier is also only 30 minutes south of Dahlonega.
STATE PARKS in the area are Vogel, Amicalola Falls, Unicoi, Smithgall Woods, Lake Winfield Scott, and Moccasin Creek. They have beautiful lakes and recreational facilities such as boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, and mini-golf.

This warm, inviting two level mountain home in Chattahochee Forest of North Georgia features everything you need from linens right on down to the salt and pepper. A large great room with hearth and wood burning stove, kitchen, dining area, master bedroom (double bed) and bath, second bedroom (double bed) and hall bath occupy the main level. A wrap-around deck and screened in porch are accessed from the dining room and living room. The downstairs level has one bedroom (queen bed) with a full bath and a living room with a double sofa bed (with access to backyard). Mountain and forest views are dazzling outside every window.
The accommodations are perfect for two couples with children, large extended families, a girls, guys or couples getaway, small weddings, and family gatherings. There are nice walking trails near the property with a small waterfall a short walk from the house. It is one mile from the Appalachian Trail.

There is a $250 refundable security deposit and $100 cleaning fee.
