This house was built two years ago on one acre of forest land in the village of Cloudcroft in the Sacramento mountains. It is designed for comfort, relaxation, fun and class, all at mid-level prices.

One enters the house to a semi-open den-dining-kitchen area with open ceilings and wood beams, a wood burning fireplace, comfortable furniture, satellite HDTV, with both DVD and VCR, and books, games and puzzles for children and adults. Add to that the view of many pine, aspen and other native trees and plants through the glass portion of the doors onto the front covered deck.

The kitchen has all the customary appliances and cooking equipment, described in detail later. The dining table seats 8. Two of the bedrooms have queen beds and the other bedroom has two twins, all of which comfortably sleep 6 with the queen couch in the den sleeping an additional 2. The master bath area has a washer and dryer in a closet.

The owners say the most fun part of the house is the covered front deck, which faces due east, making an early sunrise with a cup of coffee or tea a must.

  • Our family just returned from this lovely, comfortable, well-equipped mountain getaway in Cloudcroft, NM. It is just uphill from the town in a wooded neighborhood. We all enjoyed the scenery from the deck of the house...so quiet and relaxing! The location was convenient to our drives to White Sands and Ruidoso. With vacation rentals like this lovely house, we won't opt for a motel again. It was a relaxing family retreat...like a home away from home in a beautiful mountain setting. We'd choose this same house again if we return to Cloudcroft.

  • What a great place to escape the Texas heat. Cool weather and beautiful wild daisys to be viewed from the front porch. The cabin is tastefully decorated and has all the ammenities one could ask for. Short trips in and around the Lincoln Forest and the city of Cloudcraft made this getaway a great choice.   • LIke the guests from Lubbock, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, in June (2009). The cabin is situated in a quiet, serene spot up on the mountain and has a gorgeous patio that made it difficult to get my husband to leave! The kitchen had all the cooking utensils we needed, there was plenty of room for 3 of our kids, the beds were comfy... we definitely hope to stay there again. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Kolb.   • Beautiful, beautiful place. Very nicely furnished and all the comforts of home. The kitchen was wonderfully furnished with anything needed to cook up a meal. We thoroughly enjoyed the deck and spent most of our time out there drinking coffee, relaxing and just enjoying the beautiful surroundings, including the hummingbirds. George and Alice were so nice and helpful and made sure we had whatever we needed. I would recommend this home highly to anyone who wants to get away to a gorgeous spot in the cool pines.
