Why the Owner Chose Sunset Beach
We bought this house because of it's location on the North Shore of Oahu.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our house is right on the beach-there is always a beautiful view of the ocean. In the winter there is surf and in the summer you can swim and snorkle. The beach is usually empty-your own private beach!
There are wonderful restaurants in Haleiwa and Turtle Bay.
Owner's Map of Sunset Beach
I moved to Hawaii in 1985 and got married. My husband and I bought this house on the beach in 1987. Our two daughters are now grown and have many happy memories of their time at this house as they grew up. I enjoy managing our house and meeting people from all over the world.

We arrived at Sunset beach for a week after spending 12 day in Waikiki. The moment we arrived we instantly felt at home, the house is real beachy and the views are to die for. The living room was a perfect place to read or do the many puzzels supplied or just watch in orrr the amazing view at your door step. We were lucky enough to have fantastic surf conditions for our two teen son's 4-6ft. We got to meet a local surfer whom introduced us to several local surfers so my boys felt really at home. The supermarket is only 5 minutes away and has everthing one desires. The house is in a great location for all touristy thing but our favourite time was had just hanging at the house or swimming straight in front. We loved the out door shower after time spent at the beach and the two balconies gave everyone there space. We will be back in 2013 for sure, thank-you Alice and Fred.

Great house, fantastic views! Perfect for sitting on the deck and watching whales play as they made their way north to Alaska and watch the surfers hang ten.....and enjoy most beautiful sunsets ever!!! The house is spacious, comfortable, nicely appointed and ideally located. You can't get any closer to the beach than this place...step off the deck and you're there! Just a short drive to Laniakea Beach where you can see the great Hawaiian green sea turtles basking in the sun, beautiful Waimea Valley gardens, the historic quaint town of Haleiwa....good food...great shopping! Don't miss Teds Bakery for the famous Chocolate-Haupia pie...it's just up the road. Just can't say enough good things about our week long stay at this house....it was just not long enough! We are a group of 5 friends from Oklahoma and we certainly hope to return. Mahalo, Alice and Fred! Aloha!!

We could not find anything wrong with this awesome beach house and the charming north shore of Oahu. The house and view far exceeded our expectations. Pictures are very accurate. The house has a real authentic, beachy feel which we all loved. No matter what tourist attraction we ventured on, our favorite part of every day was coming home to the beautiful, gorgeous, peaceful ocean waves! Ted's Bakery (within walking distance) and Impossibles Pizza truck are both great places to eat. We can hardly wait to come back. Best family vacation ever!

What a fantastic beach house this is! My family (4) just had the most amazing two weeks summer vacation in this property. It's well furnished with everything you need... full kitchen, comfortable bedrooms & living space, but it's the location that truly makes this property. Sat right on the beach only yards from the Pacific, the beach was empty most days... paradise. The outside decks are great for sunbathing, dining and simply kicking back. Oh yes and the outdoor shower is fab, either first thing after a dip in the sea or last thing before the sun goes down, nothing compares. What's not shown in the description is the backyard so parking your vehicle is real easy and it's all secure. This is a prime spot. Forget Waikiki with the crowds! Although it's worth a day out to see what's going on ;-) There's plenty to see and do on the North Shore, lots of eating places, Ted's Bakery do great snacks, Cholo's & Breakers at North Shore Market good food, reasonably priced and excellent service too. (Pizza Bob's OK, not great service!) You should plan to take a trip to Pearl Harbour / Waikiki / and drive up Tantulus Drive at night the views over the city are spectaculer. Alice & Fred really great people. Thanks for the great holiday and fab memories... will definitely come back again.

Just spent 9 days in this FANTASTIC beach house. It really has the WOW factor as it is right on the beach. The house is really well equipped with everything you could need, we really felt at home. The beds are very comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. The outdoor shower has the best view in the world especially at sunset. The yard is really secure and the neighbours are very nice. We are looking forward to our next holiday here. Many thanks Alice for the use of your beautiful home! Regards from The Williams Family.

My husband and I just got back from staying here for an entire week. We absolutely loved the house. The photos and description are accurate and it truly sits right on Sunset Beach. The house is also right off the bike path and is in a perfect location for all of the North Shore activities like snorkling, swimming at Wimea, eating/restaurants in Haliewa, surfing lessons and wonderful morning runs. The grocery store is only a few blocks away (Starbucks too). Make sure you get good directions from Alice as I used mapquest and it was difficult to find as several of the homes have the same address but are differentiated by a letter. If you need surf lessons, we recommend Uncle Bryan's. Eat the Hawaiian Pizza at Pizza Bob's in Haliewa and skip the Turtle Bay resort (overpriced food). Make sure you hit a shrimp truck or two. We bought shrimp (already cooked) and then made dinner at home. It was wonderful! Very romantic. The sunsets at Sunset Beach are some of the best ever and watching the surfers is so much fun. Be careful when swimming in front of the house as the waves can be pretty aggressive. Make sure you stop and see the turtles (at the turtle viewing area just down the road) and you can snorkle there and swim with them - very cool. You'll need to rent a car. Make sure you spend a full day at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu. Get there early as the crowds are pretty bad. It takes many hours to see all there is to see there but we highly recommend doing this. We stopped by Waikiki but after being on the North Shore, we were spoiled and headed straight back to solitude! We can't wait to go back to Oahu and the North Shore!

Sunset beach is AWESOME! Great location for fun in the sun. From the deck to the beach and into the water. The views are amazing from the upper deck. Stay on the North Shore and not Honolulu. If you like to do stuff in the city the drive is not that far. Alice and Fred are great to work with. Thanks for the a Vacation that my family will never forget.

Great beach house! Very happy we stayed on the North Shore instead of Honolulu and would definitely recommend this house to anyone. Two big decks facing the ocean, great kitchen, and much more space than I expected from the photos. The beach right in front of the house was always empty, and a short walk away at Rocky Point there were always a bunch of surfers you can sit and watch. Also, from all the beaches we tried in the area we found this area on Sunset had the best water for swimming.
