Brilliant Family Base on Buffalo Mountain

Located in the Wildernest area of Summit county our Gore Trail Condo is easily accessible - under 90 minutes from Denver Int'l Airport and just 3 miles from the Silverthorne exit off I-70. Based in the heart of ski country you can ski Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain or A Basin. Vail and Beaver Creek are slightly further (30-45 minutes) but still great options for a day of skiing. In summer there's Lake Dillon and miles of cycle paths to explore, plus hiking, rafting, fishing and golf.
There are no outside steps so you can walk straight in to the unit! Inside the accommodation is arranged on 2 levels with a half flight of stairs up or down from the entry hall. The lower level has a bright, uncluttered open plan living/dining area with a kitchen and breakfast bar with 3 bar stools. The living space has a sofa bed, TV & DVD player, gas fire with 6-hour timer, dining table for 6 and a private balcony with beautiful views of the mountains and surrounding nature preserve. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare and enjoy family meals.
There are two bedrooms on the lower level and a loft space upstairs overlooking the main room. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed, a TV and its own bathroom. Bedroom 2 has a bunk bed (full on bottom, twin on top) and a large TV. There is a bathroom off the main hall with a walk-in shower and a washing machine and dryer. The loft has a queen bed, a bathroom and plenty of floor space for setting up air mattresses. Other amenities include free high speed wireless internet service, individual carport, uncovered general parking, drying racks, hair dryer, laundry baskets and CD/radio player.
Gore Trail is at the top of Ryan Gulch Road where the road loops around. We love this circle for early morning and evening power walks/runs. The road runs right past the trail heads for Lily-Pad Lake and Buffalo Cabin trails, so it's very convenient for hiking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Gore Trail has a private clubhouse with 2 outdoor hot-tubs, locker room, showers, large screen TV/DVD player and a pool table. Outside the south entrance to the parking lot is the Summit Stage bus stop - Summit County's free bus whose destinations include Silverthorne (with its outlet shopping and Recreation Center), Dillon (marina), Frisco (great town for shopping, restaurants and bike rental) and the ski areas of Keystone, Copper and Breckenridge. Perfect if you visit without a car and great for teenagers who want to do their own thing.

The place was easy to find and it had plenty of room. We were a group of 7 adults and we all slept pretty comfortably. The location is central to several ski resorts so we were able to visit Copper Mountain and Vail easily.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children.
