Great Cabin!! Best deal in Tahoe!!
Great Cabin!! Best deal in Tahoe!!
My husband & I have been vacationing in Kings Beach for the last 12 years, and have stayed at a variety of different hotels and rentals. We found the Tahoe King 5 years ago, and have been staying here ever since. You could not ask for a better deal. You have all the comforts of home, plenty of room, HUGE backyard with deck, pet friendly, and Marty is always willing to take care of whatever issues may arise. The only complaint I would have is that it's booked throughout the winter, because it's that popular!!! We always look forward to returning to the Cabin!

Cons: - The WiFi does not work at all. - There are no dish towels, paper towels or oven mitts. - No spices or condiments (except cream of tartar), not event salt and pepper. Bring your own. - Food from prior guests was left in the fridge (yogurt, ice cream, etc.). - There is no laundry detergent, even though the owner asked us to wash and dry towels before we left. - Light bulbs were burnt out in the downstairs hall and the stairway (especially dark and easy to trip). - All of the TV channels have fuzzy connection and static although it is still watchable. Not sure if this is status quo or something wrong. - Minimal seating on the back deck and no seating at all on the front porch. I would recommend bringing your own lawn chairs. - The hot tub motor comes on and off around the clock. It is loud and frequently woke the guests sleeping in the back bedroom on the main level. - It's a rustic mountain cabin so this means spiders. - Some of the screens are broken which limits the options to open the windows. - The curtain rod in front downstairs bedroom is broken. It fell on one of the guests in the middle of the night. It looked like it had been broken and then rigged up awhile ago. We hung it back up but it needs to be repaired. - No movies. Did not see the Playstation 2 mentioned in the listing. Pros - Off street, flat parking for 5-6 cars. - Big deck with grill and large fenced in back yard. - Quiet neighborhood yet conveniently located near downtown Kings Beach. - Dishwasher and washer/dryer. - Nice, new living room furniture. - Nice hot tub (sits 5 comfortably). A group of six of us stayed in the house for a long weekend. The owner was very responsive prior to our stay in responding to emails and arranging our trip. However, once we got to the house we were disappointed. We have stayed at a half dozen rentals in the Tahoe area over the past 6 months and this was by far the worst. I emailed the owner after we left to alert him of the issues we encountered and never received a response.

Owner response: Sorry to hear that these guests had some frustrations. The wifi and cable TV issue was resolved immediately by tightening the connection of the cable into the cable modem. I wish they had contacted me when they arrived. Issues occur over a long summer and I respond to all of them. Things go missing, or get broken, and I replace or fix them. We really want everyone to have the best time possible and enjoy the great outdoors in Tahoe. I strive to make the rustic cabin as comfortable as possible while keeping it affordable for groups and families. I apologize for not responding to this guest immediately after their stay, but I was distracted by my dad being hospitalized for heart problems. We did make all the necessary steps to address the important issues raised. About 40% of my guests are return customers, including my upcoming winter ski lease group that is starting their 3rd winter at the cabin. We must be doing some things right and believe people appreciate our honest approach to sharing our cabin with others.

Family Time with our teens...
Just spent Monday till Friday at this great place. I was nervous because I have never stayed in a rental property before, but I won't be worried again, I just hope that all of my stays turn out as nice as this one did. It rained for the first two days, but there is a DVD player and a great table to play games on, not to mention the wifi for the kids. The beds are really comfortable and everybody slept great. The house is centrally located so there are things to see about 10 mins either direction and Kings Beach is just down a couple of streets. I know that this will be a trip that we will all be able to remember happily, with the kayaking, parasailing and just hanging out at the beach. Thanks for the stay!! Maybe we'll just have to come back again in the future :c)
