Our home is a newly renovated 2,300 square foot post and beam on a 9,000 square foot lot. The main floor has high vaulted ceilings and large windows flood the home with natural light. The living room is elegantly furnished and opens out to a balcony overlooking the yard with an Adirondack chair perfect for reading and basking in the sunlight and a teak cafe style table and chairs, ideal for coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at sundown. The dining area features a round table with a removable leaf and can accommodate up to 8.
The kitchen is spacious, newly renovated with all stainless steel appliances, and a great deal of natural light. The family room is just off the kitchen, equipped with a tv/dvd as a well as a desk for office use. The sofa pulls out to an extremely comfortable queen size bed. French doors open out to a very large second deck, with a high end patio set with seating for six, hot tub, gas barbecue perfect for dining outdoors, which we do most nights of the summer months. The main floor also features the master bedroom with a king size temperpedic mattress, a newly renovated bathroom and a second bedroom with bunk beds and a crib.
The lower floor has a third bedroom with a queen size bed with an extremely comfortable pillow top mattress, a second bathroom and a brand new recreation room/media room with a big screen TV, surround sound home theatre and a huge oversized L shaped sectional, ideal for watching movies or sports. The recreation room opens out to the massive yard, with another patio, play structure, ping pong table, gardens, etc.. A six foot cedar fence surrounds the property, offering total privacy
Our home has a feeling of great warmth and elegance but with an unmistakable west coast charm. There is a great deal of privacy from one room to the next but the common areas have a wonderfully open feeling and natural light floods the entire house.
The location is highly sought after. The proximity to downtown offers all of the convenience of the big city but with the calm and ease of small town life. We are steps to fabulous Edgemont Village with all the amenities imaginable including a grocery store, two butchers, Starbucks and Delaneys coffee shops, liquor stores, 4 banks, restaurants etc... All within easy walking distance. The natural beauty of the neighborhood is irresistible. Spectacular nature walks are mere blocks away. Creeks and ravines surround our neighborhood and the mountain views are nothing short of breathtaking.
Tourist attractions abound. Grouse mountain is a 5 minute drive away as is the breathtaking Capilano Suspension bridge. We are a mere 10 minute drive to Stanley Park and downtown Vancouver and a 10 minute drive to Ambleside beach in West Vancouver. Approximately 15-20 minutes to the Horsehoe Bay ferry terminal in one direction and the spectacular Deep Cove in the other. Whistler is approximately 90 minutes away by car.
To experience the calm and the spectacular natural beauty of the west coast and the proximity to all Vancouver has to offer and yet have peace, quiet all conveniences of home, and all amenities within easy walking distance, there is simply no better location.
