Location: Portland, Portland & Casco Bay, Maine, USA
Accommodations: Condo, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 6)
Keywords: Condominium
Our Carriage House was built in the 1870's. In the early 2000s, it was divided into two condominium units and renovated. The front unit (157 Pine Street)--the unit you'll be staying in--was done in a traditional style, with old hard wood flooring and exposed brick. The woman who did the renovation did an outstanding job, using the best materials and finishes. The structure is set back from the street, making it especially quiet. The West End neighborhood is Portland's most picturesque. You'll enjoying exploring it.
This property is within walking distance from Portland's great restaurants, museums, shopping and nightlife scene. Not less than four sand beaches are within a 25 minutes drive. Skiing is an hour to two hours away depending on where you want to go. It's easy to catch a ferry from the Old Port that will take you out to islands in Casco Bay for a day trip.
Bottom line, while staying at the Carriage House you will have plenty to do. You can venture out to sightsee and enjoy nature, or you can enjoy the comfortable interior. Either way, you're in for a great experience.
Note: The upstairs bedrooms (but not the bathrooms) share an open cathedral ceiling. Noise does travel between the rooms. Please contact us if you have questions.

We stayed at this property as a family of 5-my husband, me, my parents and teenaged brother. Although the property is a condo, it had more than enough space for us all. The place is an ideal blend of modern convenience and historic charm. I loved the exposed brick and antique hardword floors, and also appreciated the air conditioning and modern, gourmet kitchen. The location was great, within walking distance to the old port, but far enough away to feel secluded. I would highly recommend this place, and hope to stay again in the future.

We stayed in this condo for our daughter's wedding in August, 2011. Could not have been more pleased, I can't imagine staying anywhere else. There is such a sense of history staying there but every modern convenience you could ever imagine or want. Trust me these pictures do not do this condo justice, it almost seemed magical, especially when the trolley was at the front of the walk to pick us up for the church!! We could not have been more pleased and have some stunning photos to prove it!!

Absolutely perfect! Location, ambiance, decor, a kitchen to die for. Three bedrooms handled 6 adults with the open seating area well suited for conservation and light libations. Walk / bike to town - Good food - excellent seafood at the docks to bring home - scallops with garlic, white wine, butter and wine with french bread. Yum Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. Oh, a set up MAC to check the WEB was the crowning point.

This property is great, location close to downtown in the nicest area in Portland close to shopping and restaurants. The Carriage House is a top notch renovation, a relaxing place to be, we were in Portland on business and it was a better alternative to staying in a hotel.
