My husband, little mini Aussie (Max), and I really enjoyed our weekend stay here! Susan made checking in extremely easy and had several little goodies in the studio waiting for us which was a real treat! The studio is beautiful and very cozy, stocked with plenty of home amenities (kitchen/bathroom items, ipod player, wfii) and the location is great - 10 min from downtown Healdsburg and right next door to several wineries. We would definitely return for a stay and would highly recommend staying here, thank you Susan!

What a perfect weekend! We couldn't have asked for more. Susan's studio apartment is charming, comfortable, relaxing, and dog friendly! My husband, myself, and our four legged family member had the best time. The location is perfect! Susan is such a gracious host. She gave us wonderful suggestions on her favorite places in town. She didn't steer us wrong! We arrived with the frig fully stocked with juice, milk, yogurt, english muffins, butter, brie, wine, beer, and filtered water! Susan thinks of everything! Pistachios, popcorn, crackers and fresh fruit are laid out for your snacking pleasure. It's like going to a bed and breakfast without have to chit chat with strangers and no knick knacks everywhere so you can't even unpack your luggage. Don't miss this find! You can't enjoy wine country anymore then staying on a small private vineyard!

A great place to stay. We were going to a concert at Wells Fargo Center and Susan recommened a great place to eat, Willi's Wine Bar near the concert. The property is as described, only it seemed better and very quiet. Susan said there would be eggs in the fridge, but there was much more. Susan was very helpful making suggestions for things to do in the area. We had a wonderful time and hope to return.

Our spring visit to the Wine Country was made extra special by our host of this very quant and well appointed cottage. Stayng here we felt more like friends than renters. The descrptions and pictures are accurately expressed except that when you awake each morning and gaze outsde your vineyard window, you are transported to small towns in rural Tuscany. The neighborhood is special on Chalk Hill Rd. so make a point of spending some time right there and don't forget to visit right next door to Earl's birdhouses(also the supplier of those fresh eggs). Our host was very helpful in restraunt suggestions and overall knowledge of the complete valley. Our riding consisted of 25-50 mi loops which we easily launched from our location. As most, we prefer less traveled roads, so we found it important to inquire about the timing of when certain roads could be found to be such. After the morning excursions, we treated ourselves to lunch out at a table in the vineyard on property. All we needed was for the Tour de France peloton to ride by. We look forward to returning some day soon, each tme in a different season. Bill and Becca

We stayed with our Golden for the weekend. The location is a short drive from downtown Healdsburg, even shorter drive to beautiful wineries. Our favorite spot is Medlock Ames!! We will definitely be back..

My girlfriend and I, rarely see each other so the chance to stay in a beautiful area in a delightful studio was just what we were looking for. After a rather long day and arriving in the dark, we were delighted to find Susan's studio loft so warm and elegantly furnished (including a complete kitchen!) with fresh tulips on the coffee table along with a bottle of wine, cheese and fruit. There was also even farm fresh eggs, milk, coffee, juice and muffins in the kitchen! We felt very pampered. When morning dawned, we felt as though we might be in Tuscany or France as we looked out over the vineyard and the long cyprus tree lined driveway! Later, we met our hostess Susan about to tend to her rose garden! Not quite what we had expected from someone who owns an elegant clothing store in Healdsburg on the square (another place not to miss!). I cant wait for a return visit.

From the moment we met Susan at her clothing shop in Healdsburg to pick up the key and gate opener we knew that her graciousness would be reflected throughout our stay. After having a leisurely lunch at nearby Bistro Ralph we made the very pleasant and scenic drive to her Chalk Hill Road estate. Greeted warmly by Susan's two sweet rescue dogs - Popcorn and Teddy Bear - we entered the spacious and well-appointed loft-style apartment. Welcoming us was a bottle of wine, fresh fruit, a bowl of pistachios, coffee, tea and farm fresh organic eggs from her next door neighbor Earl, fresh-cut flowers - and, a very well stocked kitchen! The location is quiet and surrounded by vineyards and wineries but not far from Healdsburg and Calistoga. We visited nearby Lancaster Winery, literally across the road (requires an appointment) and would highly recommend it to others! We would not hesitate to return to this quiet and special place.

We were really blessed to be able to stay in this adorable studio. We enjoyed the privacy of the environment and were able to totally able to relax and enjoy spending time together. It was a mother-daughter weekend and we enjoyed biking around the wine country, drinking good wine, and having wonderful meals together. There is also great antique shopping and beautiful shops in Healdsburg. We ate at the I am Grateful organic restaurant for lunch & just had a ball!! I highly recommend this place if you want to get away and relax.

My husband, our dog and I had the pleasure of staying at Susan's home. From the moment I spoke to Susan inquiring about her studio I was reassured I made the right choice for our weekend getaway. Her charming studio was far enough from the hustle and bustle of the main town and freeway but yet close enough to all the wineries and sightseeing near by. From the moment we drove through her gate, in the front door and laid eyes on the wonderful touches of her home...everything from the welcoming large vase of roses (from her garden I am sure), the bottle of wine, cheese, crackers, fruit, breakfast goodies...the list just goes on....we felt we were in paradise. The home was immaculate...so clean and the details were endless to make us feel at home. Susan was so accommodating to our many requests...everything from storing our ice packs, humoring our barking dog when she came to the door to adjusting our departure time. I can not thank her enough for being such a gracious hostess and making out stay so enjoyable and relaxing. We look forward to returning to Healdsburg and staying at Susan's "little slice of heaven" in the wine country. With Sincere gratitude for making our weekend a memorable & enjoyable stay.

A very sweet, perfectly laid out, get-away. Lovely vineyard surrounds the house...and quiet Chalk Hill Road area is the ideal backdrop to road cycling through Sonoma. The bottle of wine, cheese, fruit, and coffee was a great touch - thank you Susan. Loved having the quiet of the vineyard while being smack dab in the middle of Healdsburg and Calistoga for restaurants etc (both approx. 15min drive). We will be back. (ps: perfect for pets btw)

Our stay in Healdsburg and this peaceful Chalk Hill estate left us refreshed and ready to return to our busy lives. We cannot thank Susan enough for her most generous hospitality. She will ask you if you need anything - and not only does she accommodate, but anticipates beyond anything you'd expect. Imagine entering into this 5 star gated setting with Spode, Egyptian cotton, fluffy down comforters, bottles of wine, fresh flowers, fresh eggs, handmade crackers and delicious cheese all set before you. Wake up to cool breezes and slight fog over the vineyard. Heavenly! Aloha - until we meet again...

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in September. The apartment was delightfully decorated and impeccably clean. I'm a "clean freak", so don't take that lightly coming from me! We loved the location. It is set among vineyards in the Alexander Valley. We have visited Napa and Sonoma MANY times (this was our 20th visit), so I'm embarrassed to admit that we had never tasted at the wineries in this area. We were so pleasantly surprised at not only the beauty of the wineries, but also at the quality of many of the wines. The fact that this property is located right among the wineries makes it a great home base for tasting in the Alexander Valley. We would not hesitate to stay here again. The only warning is for people who plan to also work from this spot. We couldn't get internet access and our cell phone service was VERY spotty. We didn't mind, though, because we were there for some R&R! TV reception was fine.

My husband and I stayed here to attend a concert at the Rodney Strong winery and it was a perfect location. It is a wonderful place to stay. The property is on a beautiful road, down the street from several wineries and Susan was a wonderful host. The cottage is bright and comfortable, and we made breakfast in the morning with the eggs from the chickens next door. Amazing. Since it is a dog friendly location so close to Healdsburg but feels so far away in vineyards, we will certainly be back. Thank you, Susan!

My husband and I stayed 5 nights at Susan's place. What a lovely, private, and comfortable place--the view was lovely! Susan supplied us with great things for breakfast and met every request! Her roses are incredible and we enjoyed a beautiful bouquet of them in our room. We watched deer wander in the field next to the studio one evening at dusk. Although the studio is located away from town--it is a quick and beautiful trip either direction to get to many activities. Healdsburg is a wonderfully quaint town with friendly people, restaurants, and wine tasting. The wireless connection was unpredictable in the studio so don't depend on it--although you shouldn't need it if you here to relax! The only other thing that bothered us was the dogs barking when the windows were open at night but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again at Susan's wonderful studio!

My daughter and I stayed in this lovely studio above the garage while we were attenting a wedding in Healdsburg. The drive from town was beautiful and easy. The property was peaceful and enchanting. And the studio itself was spacious and comfortable with many amenities. Susan was friendly and helpful. We couldn't have stayed at a better spot!

We just completed our stay and had a wonderful time. The studio is located in the ideal location to offer solitude or a quick ride to downtown Healdsburg by car. Susan, the owner, is very gracious, lives on-site and took care of everything. She stocked our fridge with fresh eggs, fruit, bread...whatever we requested. We also appreciated the fresh roses from her garden, that Susan left in our room. The studio is quite large and very well- appointed. There are many windows to offer cool breezes and views of the property. We brought our bikes and went on three great, long rides right from the front gate! We'll come back again.
