It is a great house with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy your vacation. The landscaping is beautiful, probably on of the things I love most about our home. We spend lots of time relaxing on the patio and playing games with the grandkids. Everything is so accessible. You can walk across the street for a great dinner or prepare your own . For those who truly want to relax you can use the gas grill. If you want more authentic mountain cuisine, you can fire up the smoker and make an adventure out of dinner. Either way, I am sure you'll find everything you need for a perfect get-away
We are lucky enough to be in an area that has year round appeal. Summer activiities center around the lake but there is always hiking, mountain biking and sight seeing too.. It is a beautiful place for hiking and appreciating the fall colors or it makes a perfect hunting lodge.!!. Winter fun includes cross country skiing, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, and down hill ski oportunites less than an hour away. Spring time in the mountains is relaxing as well. Vallecito has everything!!

Vallecito is only 30 minutes from all the charm and history of Durango. You can ride the Durango-Silverton narrow gauge railroad, drive to Mesa Verde to view the Anasazi ruins, take a ride to Pagosa springs to soak in the natural mineral springs or simply hang out at the lake and do nothing. Your vacation can include as much or as little activity as you like. The possibilities are endless
The Unique Benefits at this House
Not many places can offer spectacular views of the mountains and the lake and also truly claim to be within walking distance. From the house you can hike up the road into the mountains or cross the street to swim in the lake. We are very fortunate to have the best of both worlds

We purchased the lake house 5 years ago and have enjoyed many great times. There are lots of yard games like badmitton, croquet and horseshoes for outside time as well as a big screen TV and lots of movies for evening entertainment. In the living room you'll find a stone fireplace for the cool mountain evenings. You can sit and relax on the slate patio while you enjoy the beauty of the lake right across the street. Walk to the marina, the country store or to the Buffalo Gap restaurant. Everything you need for a wonderful vacation is right here.
