History: Lemuria is an authentic Mexican hacienda that is over 100 years old. Although it has been renovated, the original old flavor has been maintained which means that you will experience authentic Mexican lifestyle when you visit us.
Location: Lemuria, a ranch hacienda, rests on the brim of Sombrero (cowboy hat) Mountain and has magnificent views that include of one of the largest reservoirs in the state, La Presa Purisima, beautiful countryside and the Picachos Mountains. On the top of Sombrero Mountain there are 10,000 year old temple ruins and petroglyphs. The ranch is also located only 20 minutes from Downtown Guanajuato. Transportation to the Beautiful Romantic City of Guanajuato, which was recently named the "Kissing Capitol of Mexico", or to Leon is available, either by the bus which stops a short distance away, taxi, or by our shuttle, provided by us for a small fee.

Casita per night $105.00 sleeps 6+ : 2 large bedrooms and an optional loft bedroom, one - Dia de Flores, with a comfortable queen bed, free standing full length mirror, table and a beautiful hand crafted bench. On one wall is a Magnificent 8x5 foot Painting done by a local well known artist. The other bedroom - Rancho, has twin beds, bedside chests, table and chairs and also is decorated with hand made Mexican Craftwork. Both rooms have boveda ceilings and views to the interior garden and courtyard area. Includes use of the kitchenette.
The casita loft is up a narrow staircase and gives you a view over the top the of the main house to sunsets and countryside. It is not recommended for very young children. The loft can either be a small sitting room or a bedroom with one or two twin beds. The light in the loft is spectacular through the large skylight making a wonderful place to be on moonlit nights. Opening the doors to the small terrace brings in the gentle breezes.
The Main House rooms per night $75.00 or the suite $120.00 sleeps 4+: one, Cervantino, decorated to reflect Cervantino, the largest Latin celebration of art theater and music in the world. There is a modern style sink washing area in the bedroom and the toilet and a beautifully tiled shower are in a room adjoining the bedroom. This room is rich in fabrics reflecting the Teatro Jardin, one of the most beautiful theaters in Guanajuato. There is a window that opens to the courtyard from this room and a ceiling fan. It's entrance is from a small sitting room named sala rosa which exits to the side of the central courtyard across from the casita.
The other bedroom, Artesania is decorated with art work from a great many of the local artists in Guanajuato and is a tribute to their talent and hard work. This room has a moonlight and sunrise clerestory window which makes it very private and one of the quietest rooms we have available. This room also has a ceiling fan. The private bath is tiled in traditional Mexican tile and has a shower, small sink and toilet.
Renting all the rooms for one week includes use of the incredible Grand Dining Hall. The Grand Dining Hall seats 40, plenty of room for guests and big families.
For your convenience, there is also a Kitchenette located in the Grand Sala with --

It is fully equipped with Beautiful Mexican Pottery Place Settings and all the kitchen tools you will need. As for your Laundry, just place it outside of your door and the Maid will take care of it for a very small fee.
The living/game room is equipped with flat screen tv, dvd player, video library, phonograph and record library, piano, board games, and darts and is a great place to hang out after a day of exploration.
There is also gym equipment available for your daily workout routine. A two station gym, balance balls, yoga mats, exercise videos, mini tramp and free weights are available. Also enjoy basketball, volleyball and swimming in our pool.
The ranch also has a small store where you can purchase groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, handcrafted items, baked goods, and more.
We can also provide services such as chef services, special event requests and tour guides. An American concierge / caretaker lives on site and can assist you with any of your special needs.

Why the Owner Chose Guanajuato
We love it here. The year round average temperature of 75 degrees is wonderful. The air is clean; it's peaceful and breathtaking and has easy access to the romantic city of Guanajuato which we just love. It feels good waking up to sunshine everyday, and the Mexican people are really special. Living here is very uplifting.

There are many unique benefits - you can hike to the Sombrero Mountain or down to the Lake, Lie in the Hammock and enjoy the Serenity and quietude of the Country or just watch the breathtaking sunsets, watch Movies, Attend Live Theater, Visit Museums, Swim, and a Multitude of Other Activities. The City is near enough to enjoy the the Sights and Sounds of the Musicians, the cuisine of many fine Restaurants, plus the Street Vendors to be found in the Historical El Centro, yet far enough away that you do hear any of the noise at night! Being a town filled with University students, it is quite a lively place to visit at night.
