This place is quite cozy and comfortable. Lois could not have been nicer. The location is perfect for exploring some of St. Paul's most beautiful neighborhoods. We would definitely stay here again.

We could not have been happier with our stay here. The home is beautifully decorated, and the sun room and patio and back yard are absolutely lovely for enjoying summer evenings. It is in my favorite Twin City neighborhood and provided a wonderful "home" for our vacation in St. Paul. The owner was gracious, also, to return my children's DVD's and husband's hat that they had forgotten. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Although, the apartment is in a good neighbourhood, and is cosy, it is hard to move around for all the furniture, or antiques. We were not refunded our deposit, due to the fact that we supposedly broke 2 chairs, and had burnt a table. (the chair were already broken, and not once did we light a match in the house! The owner was supposedly missing a saucepan, for which she deducted USD60! No inventory was ever taken at the beginning of our stay, so it was hard to know which saucepan she was referring to... As we remained in St Paul, I feel it would have been a good idea to have given us a chance (if we really had it), to return the saucepan?! But instead, a deduction was made and non of our deposit was refunded. I would not recommend staying here.
Owner response:VRBO-- I sincerely regret this conflict, however, as I indicated in my response to Phillippa's complaint in February, there certainly was a number of issues. The damage to a "wood buffet" existed of scorched, bubbled paint and blackened wood. The candle in the holder was still sitting under the damaged wood--and on the very edge of the buffet. It could have easily fallen on the wood floors and put everyone in the house in jeopardy. Someone in the house lit the candle--I had recently purchased new towels and they were stained as though bleach had been poured directly on them. The chairs had been repaired and I thought they were in good condition. Philippa, during her stay, did not phone me with any problems. If she had, I would have replaced the chairs immediately. Twice during her stay, I arrived to shovel the back deck to find the back door was left standing open--no one home. The Sunday before she left, my upstairs tenants arrived home to find the front door wide open and the door to her unit wide open also. I phoned her and she said she was on the way back to the house--I have no way of knowing how long those doors stood open. This was in January in Minnesota. I arrived after she moved out to find several personal items plus a lot of groceries left in the refrigerator--making my cleanup time consuming and difficult.. There was a new saucepan missing--cover is there and the cover of a smaller pan missing. I realize I cannot withhold deposits for carelessness, but the damage and missing items were valued at more than the deposit I held. I expect normal wear and tear--this was not. I have had well satisfied customers for two years and I will try my very best to create a pleasing and comfortable vacation rental in the years to come. Thank you. Lois Johnson

What a great springboard for discovering Saint Paul’s most distinctive neighborhood! We rented the flat for a family wedding that took place entirely in this charming quarter. Across four days it became the rendezvous point for friends and family to reconnoiter, relax on the deck, catch a few minutes of the football game on the flat-screen TV, and catch up over wine and appetizers. It’s perfect for entertaining, indoors and outdoors, with a décor that is endlessly interesting – on the last day we were still discovering art objects in every nook and corner. Back home in New York City, weeks later, I still remember the way the morning sun lights up the sunroom overlooking the garden. This flat is a beautiful, comfortable, convenient, and affordable alternative to a hotel room.

We chose this condo as a place to celibate our 20th wedding anniversary. When we arrived, we found the owner had provided flowers, chocolates and a card. A very nice personal touch. We thoroughly enjoy our stay. Very clean with a well equipped kitchen, perfect place to entertain and relax. Why would you stay at a hotel?

We stay in many vacation rentals on a ergular basis (3 this year in fact) and this one one of the better ones. Only two of us stayed on this visit. It's a very nice place in an excellent location. I'd call it a duplex rather than a condo. The rental is the lower floor and the upstairs tennants were quiet and you barely knew they were there. The unit is cute, comfortable, and clean (one of things we like best). Location is really convenient and we had no trouble finding parking on the street in front. The internet connection didn't work while we were there--but that was only a minor inconvenience for us.

My family and I just returned from a one week stay at this gorgeous, well kept property. The location is within easy walking and driving distance to both charismatic neighborhoods in St. Paul and convenient shops that make an extended stay bearable (Target, Walmart, Trader Joes, and Kowalski's Market). We have a three year-old and a one year-old, and the owner is very understanding that some parts of the decor might have to grow wings and fly to higher shelves during a stay like ours.

We found this property absolutely charming in every respect!!! Walking distance to historic Blair House and shops! A short drive to the Science Museum and downtown St. Paul. The unit is professionally decorated and maintained. Everything provided for a ''home stay'! Including a welcoming deck and back yard. A wonderful alternative to hotel housing!

Just returned from a delightful two week stay in this condo. It is quaint, charming, and immaculate. The location is fantastic - within walking distance of Selby Avenue and its great restaurants and boutiques; within walking distance of Summit Avenue with its amazing Victorian homes, and within walking distance of Grand Avenue with its wonderful shopping. We have booked an additional week in the summer.
