We had a wonderful week at the beach house. Our family gathered there to celebrate Christmas, and it was a real success! The property was clean, comfortable, and well stocked (linens, paper goods, etc). Given the chilly, rainy weather, the wood stove was quite welcome with it's ample stock of split wood. The location was fantastic, as we really valued the privacy of the cove. We all enjoyed exploring the beach at low tide, and found wonderful marine life in the tide pools. There are some mainenance issues that should be taken care of, however. Although our 5 grown kids didn't seem to notice, as home owners, my husband and I were dismayed by the doors that didn't have working hardware, broken gutters, leaky doors, and other mechanical issues. We spent much of our time hanging around the house, enjoying the family time. But we also drove south on two occasions, once to go to the Monterey Aquarium (fantastic!) and then to go hiking in Big Sur. Both outings were worth the drive time in our opinion. The details of arranging the rental were handled with ease. Colin was accessible and informative. Although we didn't need local contact information for the duration of our stay, we were given that number as well. This house suited us because we are "off the beaten path" kind of people. We would certainly recommend the beach house to others who share this quality.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, pet owners, age 55+.

We rented this house for our annual family get-together for 4 nights (3 full days) and had the best time ever. The first day we got settled in and explored the amazing gardens and beach. The second day led to more explorations and checking out the tidepools just down the beach south of the house and the caves down the beach north of the house. Day 3 found us at the Santa Cruz boardwalk, a short 20 minute drive away for tons of fun! Tip - all rides are just $1 after 5. The following day we did a little swimming and played in the waves with boogie boards. So much fun in one of the most beautiful places in the world. The house itself was very nice although the kitchen is tight and the water pressure was pretty weak. Also, the home could use a little maintenance but that didn't really affect us. Size-wise the house accommodated our group of 7 perfectly. The kitchen was very well stocked. Overall, I would definitely stay here again as the spot was perfect and the house was fine.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

What a view!!!! Planned a 4 day getaway for Mother's 85th birthday - her dream to stay at the beach. It couldn't have been more perfect for her. The house accomodated all of us comfortably and gave us time to reconnect. Colin was wonderful to work with and extremely helpful. The views from the deck overlooking the ocean and the seals swimming by were breathtaking. Fun beachcombing. Would definitely stay again. What a treasure you have Colin. Thank you for everything.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

If you're looking for a pet-friendly house & beach; this is the place! Stayed here with my 20 yr old daughter, partner & 4 dogs. The house & beach were perfect! Our dogs had a blast & everyone we came in contact with on the beach were extremely laid back & dog friendly. It was dog beach heaven! The yard is huge & fenced in; which was perfect for us & our kids (dogs). You basically just need to show up with beach attire & the rest is provided. The kitchen was fully stocked, plenty of towels, sheets, etc. Huge decks with awesome views & plenty of room for entertaining or just hanging out taking in the views. Colin was awesome to work with! We only left the house once to pick up important medication that we forgot.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, pet owners.

My family of five stayed here during our spring break and had a great time. Even though it rained just about every day we still had a lot of fun and a lot of great family time together. The house is beautiful and you can't beat the views. The direct access to the beach is an added bonus too. Colin was great to work with and we will be back.
