"Green Gables" is, if anything, more than advertised. Clean, comfortable, well set up with all the amenities one could desire from such an arrangement. We went for delightful walks around the neighborhood, found the house stocked with voluminous information about the city and the area which we found most useful. Everything was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The owner is wonderful: very pleasant and helpful when questioned, but unobtrusive. The area is filled with interesting activities, from hiking in the mountains to local art scene to various historical sites, a favorite of ours being the Carl Sandburg Home. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone traveling in the area. We wish we could have stayed longer.

When we arrived at Green Gables we were delighted with the house and knew right away that this would be a restful retreat. The rooms are decorated beautifully and we were so comfortable that we almost forgot to visit the town. Georgia is the best hostess ever and made us feel as though she and Asheville were just waiting for our arrival. If you go to Asheville and stay anywhere else it would be a shame.

We stayed at Green Gables for 3 nights. If you dream of an exquisite vacation get-away, then you've got it here. The property - no, it is a home - is exquisite inside and out. Decorated in period furniture and so tasteful. One immediately wants to kick off shoes and settle in. The wrap around veranda is superb for balmy nites. Georgia is a gracious hostess! Kitchen is stocked with quick breakfast food, fresh fruit and milk. The home is clean, quiet, off street parking. Truly, one couldn't ask for a better place to stay. You can't go wrong!!!

We can't say enough about Georgia's beautiful home. From the moment my husband and I walked in the door, we were enchanted. We felt like we had stepped back in time. The woodwork, antiques, fireplaces, wood floors...all stunning. The kitchen was lovely, with high-end fixtures and stainless steel appliances. And stocked with everything you could possibly need and more. We had so much fun choosing which kind of coffee and Toaster Strudel to make each morning. The master bed was incredibly comfortable, with the softest sheets and matelasse bedspread. The other bedroom, which we didn't use, was beautiful as well, with pocket doors that separate it from the living room. It was my first Mother's Day, and I was touched to see that Georgia had left me an oversized cookie with "Happy Mother's Day" on it. We were also treated to a complimentary bottle of zinfandel and a fruit basket. Georgia thinks of everything! She even greeted us upon arrival, letting us know that she was there if we needed anything. Her book for guests is so helpful. Our baby girl, nine months old, had a great time crawling around. The place is full of antique furniture, but she didn't have any problems navigating. And Georgia provided everything we could need for our baby: booster seat with tray, bath chair, Pack n' Play with sheets and even a little plastic ride-on-push car. The front porch is a very relaxing place to sit and look out over the beautiful front garden. There are tons of gorgeous flowerpots and comfy places to sit. The porch is made of engineered wood - no worry about splinters for little crawlers! The house is a bit away from downtown, but it is easy to drive anywhere. One of our favorite places was Downtown Market, which is just a few blocks away, toward downtown. Inside, you'll find a terrific flea market, a Vietnamese restaurant, an organic market, wine/beer place and the delicious Hi-Fi Coffee Bar. The panini sandwiches we had there were INCREDIBLE. I already miss them. Georgia, thanks again for everything...we have recommended your home to everyone, and we will be back!

Our stay at Green Gables exceeded my expectations in every way. The house is just beautiful and the location can not be beat. The owner Georgia was wonderful and makes every effort to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. We traveled with our dogs and I just could not have asked for a nicer experience. The home is ideal for persons traveling with pets. I cant say enough good about the home or the owner. I highly recommend staying at Green Gables. Thank You Georgia!!!!!!!!

Seven of us stayed in this house for a week. There were three children, ages 7 months through 10 years, their parents, and their grandparents (one of whom uses a walker). The house was great for each of us, with plenty of room for play in the house as well as in the yard. There were good toys and games for the children. "Nana" set up a "Treasure Hunt" with a listing of all the interesting items around the house, especially those that a 10 year old would not have encountered before. The hunt was fun, with all the antiques, etc., to talk about. The breakfast food was good, and there were enough spices to make any dish in the fabulous kitchen. Georgia greeted us with home-baked cookies and a large bowl of fruit when we arrived. Georgia was very helpful in recommending places to jog, eat, and see. When we ran out of an item, she replenished it immediately. She was an excellent hostess and very interesting to talk with.

We loved the hospitality at Green Gables. We were delighted with everything about our stay there - the roomy house, the beautiful decor, the thoughtfully equipped kitchen, the neighborhood, the location, and most of all, the special touches that make Green Gables feel like home. The Christmas tree was extra special! And thank you for being so kind to our dog, Rascal. We'll all look forward to coming back soon.

We had a great time at Green Gables! Finding accommodation for a 10-month-old & two dogs isn't easy, and this was a perfect spot close to downtown, the Biltmore, and the NC Arboretum. Thanks again! Kaitlin, Steven & Baby Molly (and Devon & Zevon - Woof,Woof!!)

When I first drove up to Green Gables I was impressed to find it even more charming it appeared in its pictures -- a beautiful historic home with wonderful landscaping and an enormous wrap around veranda. Inside was even more impressive – the full panoply of modern conveniences combined with a tasteful collection of antique furniture, lamps and rugs ( it is quite obvious the owner is an interior decorator). But the most marvelous aspects of Green Gables come after one has settled in and can fully appreciate all it has to offer. The veranda is an excellent place to have coffee in the morning wearing the luxurious, full length robes that are provided, and is equally enjoyable as a place to sit and have a romantic, candlelight evening. Of course, Asheville is a wonderful place to visit and Green Gables is right in the center. The River Arts District, downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate are within a five minute drive and the numerous other attractions in the area are only a little bit further. In summary, my stay at Green Gables with the most important person in my life was fabulous, and I look forward to returning again soon! Any guests will, I am sure, have the same wonderful experience.

We wanted a place to stay that could accomodate our two small pets. We also wanted it to be close to the Biltmore Estate/Biltmore Village and great restaurants. We found exactly what we wanted in the Green Gables. Close to downtown, restaurants and shops and convenient to everything we wanted to do and see. The Bistro, Deerpark buffet and The Stables all had wonderful food on the Biltmore Estates grounds. The Neo Cantina (mexican) and Rezaz (mediterranean) at the Biltmore Village were also very good. The house was inviting and comfortable with its old world charm and craftsmanship in the detail of the architecture. Our pets were happy and so were we. Georgia is an interesting and gracious host that makes you feel at home. We just returned yesterday evening from our vacation in beautiful Asheville, NC and couldn't wait to share this with everyone.

My husband, young son, and I returned from our weekend stay in Asheville today, and I couldn't wait to share our experience! We stayed at Green Gables, a beautiful historic home very close to both downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Village/ Estate. The home was as pretty as any museum but so comfortable, and the owner/hostess was so thoughtful...from the bottle of wine and baby equipment waiting for us on arrival to the fruit she brought in the morning... so many kind details! Staying here made our trip unique and perfect. I would recommend Green Gables to any friend or family member, and we certainly plan on staying there again.

"Thanks for the hospitality. You were very helpful when it came to recommendations for restaurants & things to do. The Green Gables notebook really came in handy. Bella & Cooper also enjoyed their time here; chasing one another through the front yard & on the veranda. Green Gables is the perfect combo of old world charm meets modern convenience. Thanks for allowing us to bring our whole family (dogs included.) We will be sure to tell all of our families & friends about Green Gables. We look forward to seeing you again (hopefully sooner than later!)"

GREEN GABLES We had a wonderful stay at Green Gables. The house is lovely, very cozy. Georgia was most accommodating and had many little touches that made the stay extra special. The beds were very comfy, the house was very clean, there were games and magazines and DVDs to choose from, there was food in the fridge if we needed it. We were within a 10 minute drive of everything we came to do (Biltmore, Grove Park Inn, shopping). My only regret was not being able to enjoy the front porch due to the cold. We had a hard time finding a bed and breakfast because there were 3 of us and we wanted more room, and this was perfect. We had plenty of room. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

My daughter and I recently spent 3 nights at this lovely home away from home. We were greeted upon our arrival by the owner who is a charming person. As we entered this home it was everything we could imagine; beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with all the essentials and plenty of food for a continental breakfast. The huge lovely wrap around porch with its swing, chairs, candles, etc. was always a welcome sight after a long day of shopping and site seeing. Green Gables was close to everything we wanted to do. Highly recommend this to anyone. Sally B., Franklin, TN
