Only three minutes to FENCE, and a short drive to area golf courses. Walk to restaurants and shops. Easy access with cars and trailers. The Yellow House Landrum (google: lodging landrum to find our website) is a lovingly restored 100-year old Craftsman Cottage - a wonderful old home fully furnished and waiting to embrace you during your stay in the heart of Horse Country.
The master bath has an antique soaking tub and "typhoon" shower, and in European tradition, all bedrooms have their own sink! Dining room, living room, eat-in kitchen and large deck with gazebo.
There is ample off-street parking on over an acre of land, resplendent with large shade trees. The quiet park across the street has a beautiful walking trail with work-out stations for fitness buffs!
Landrum is the start of the "String of Pearls", a scenic drive into the Blue Ridge Mountains up route #176 to Asheville, a lovely daytrip. Visit Biltmore, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Flatrock, Blowing Rock, Tryon, Saluda, Hendersonville, and more. Visit wineries or go tubing on the Green River. Travel the back roads and take in the beauty of all the horse farms for which the area is known. Spend a day at FENCE (less than 2 miles away) or Harmon Field (7 miles) and take in a horse show or other event, or golf at one of our many fine courses. Spend an evening at a local auction, or one of the area's many festivals. There is always something happening!

This is a neat victorian house just like your grandmother may have owned. There were 5 of us staying in this house from ages 2 1/2 to 65 for a weekend horse show at Harmon Field. This house came with all the provisions you would need including toilet paper, soap, laundry detergent, hair dryer, games, and even frosty mugs in the freezer. The caretaker met with me at my convenience, opened the house, showed me where the keys were kept, and explained the few simple directions for use of the TV remote, the thermostat and yard lights. I would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We rented the Yellow House in April for a week. We went in on Tuesday, my son got married on Saturday nearby, and we stayed till the following Monday. It was the perfect place to stay. We had several other couples stay with us to help with the rehearsal party. We had the rehearsal dinner at the Drake House (also really good), then had the party at the Yellow House. We probably had 60 people and we had plenty of room. The deck and gazebo are awesome - for the party and for morning coffee. Sinks in each bedroom were really nice. Very clean. Nicely decorated. The owner was very nice, very helpful. If we are in the area again, we will definitely stay at the Yellow House.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you for the kind words! We love when families come to Landrum for fun events and stay at The Yellow House. It is so embracing and accomodating, and we know they will have a great experience. We love the house and the property and enjoy sharing it! Thank you Gwen, I certainly hope to see you again!

My husband and I rented The Yellow House of Landrum for our wedding, and it was perfect. We had some of our friends stay there with us both Friday and Saturday night, and everyone was very comfortable in their rooms. The day of the wedding, we received lots of compliments on our choice of such a beautiful place. The location, right off of I-85, is very convenient and easy to find. Just like the website indicated, the property is extremely well maintained, and the property owner could not have been more accommodating to make sure we had everything we needed. I would heartily recommend this property to anyone, whether for a wedding, a family reunion, or someone looking for a place to get away to a nice little town.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: What a delightful couple! I love sharing the house and it seems to attract such nice people. I am so glad that the property lends itself to such fun events and enjoy helping make a special "day" stretch into a memorable weekend with friends and family. WE know it's a special place, and love that others are discovering it, too! Though we are not that far from I-85, we actually exit off I-26 - and we are indeed easy to find!

This is the second time I've stayed at the Yellow House. Both times I came with several teenage girls for horse shows at FENCE. It is very comfortable and the sinks in each bedroom were very convenient (especially with the teenagers!!). It is only ten minutes from FENCE but being within a block of downtown Landrum was great for shopping, dinner etc. I will definitely stay again!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: The Yellow House Landrum is such a treasure, so comfortable and convenient in so many ways. We really enjoy sharing it with our guests, and appreciate that they love it too. Thank you for your great review, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!

My bridal party and I stayed in the Yellow House one weekend. It proved to be a perfect location for getting ready (sinks in all the bedrooms, fantastic bathroom upstairs with a glamorous red tub that I made sure to relax in the night before the big day), and it also made a lovely relaxed space for our rehearsal dinner which was an outdoor bbq. Elaine had done such a beautiful job with the landscaping that I didn't have to decorate at all. The playground across the street was enjoyed by our smaller guests, and all the shops and cafes of downtown Landrum were just a few steps away.Elaine and Pam were both really helpful in helping me plan, and I truly couldn't be more pleased with it. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

About the owner: We love Landrum, and especially love our Yellow House. There is nothing else like it in town, with its charm and great location. We watched for years as it fell to neglect and disrepair. When we had the chance to buy it, save it, we jumped on it. It truly embraces the families and friends that stay, and we love sharing it. We have a horse farm fifty miles away, and love spending time in Landrum enjoying all the area has to offer. We welcome you to do so too!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Two things unique to this house, are 1. A sink in every room, making living with a group so easy, and 2.THE LOCATION! The House rests on over two private acres in town, across the street from a quiet park with swings and playground for the kids and a 1 mile loop walking trail for you and the dog; a lovely walk five minutes to a number of restaurants and shopping; just 1.5 miles to FENCE and 10 minutes to Harmon Field, and a straight shot back to the Interstate for all the area attractions. Unbeatable!
