Delightful Cottage for Six People
Penney Cottage is located in the 14c village of Heytesbury, about 5 miles southeast of Warminster and just off the A36 Bath to Salisbury road. The cottage was converted from 2 small labourers cottages and comfortably accommodates up to 6 adults.
It has 1 and 1/2 baths... a large dining room able to seat 8 dinner guests and a spacious living room with a wood burning stove. A fully equipped kitchen has an electric stove, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher.
There are enough utensils, dishes and crystal to serve a full course meal for 8 people.
Throw out ½ empty containers of perishables from the refrigerator before you leave. Use your judgment.
Close the windows when you leave. Run the dishwasher every (2-3) days to prevent calcium build up. Run it empty if necessary.
Feel free to drink some of the liquor in the living room cabinet, but please replenish it if you finish the bottle. Do not allow young children to be alone in the East bedroom. The windows are just above floor level. The house faces south.
There is to be no smoking in the cottage. The fire extinguisher is located in the kitchen. Do not let the wood stove get hotter than 500° F.
The French windows in the living room lead out to the secluded garden that is set up with tables and chairs for your afternoon tea. Also, there is a separate washer and dryer in the laundry room.

Penny Cottage is wonderful! The owner is an incredibly kind man. He was available to talk on the phone and make sure everything went smoothly. He offered up recommendations of places to visit and good places to eat nearby. The Cottage itself is the most wonderful combination of an old house, with every modern comfort. It was stocked with everything we could possibly need and the price was generous. The location is very central. We all slept well in the comfortable beds. They even arranged a bottle of wine and cheese for us when we arrived, which was great because when we got in after a flight delay, the restaurants in the area were already closed. The place was spotless and there were helpful notes for how to use the phone and internet. It was a beautiful, comfortable, charming place to stay, made even more so by an owner who went far above and beyond to make sure we had everything we could want. I love visiting the UK and hope to stay there again.
