Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2000

Having lived and worked as an interior designer on Martha's Vineyard for 25 years, I can say that the island is clearly a special place, and has grabbed the hearts of many! I love that my passion for design can spill over into the rental market and create a unique experience for a visitor to the island. I hope that you will find my home an inviting, comfortable, and creative space to support a very special getaway experience. Welcome!

The Unique Benefits of this Condo

This loft is my home in the off season. While I enjoy the island during the summer in another location, I always look forward to "coming home". The mix of "total privacy" as well as "total access" to everything you would ever need is not found anywhere else on the island. It allows the city girl to have her cake and eat it too!

Exceptional in every way!

We stayed at this beautiful property in the fall. It met and exceeded all our expectations. The photos are lovely but do not begin to capture the beauty and comfort we found. It is very conveniently located, a close walk to downtown Oak Bluffs. The historic area with the gingerbread cottages is just around the corner and we spent a lovely afternoon just strolling around there. The house is exquisite, no surprise to find out the owner is an interior designer. Annie is personable and helpful. The house was immaculate, well cared for, and we felt as if we were staying at a spa. I look forward to coming here again with my family if we return to Martha's Vineyard. Thank you Annie for your true hospitatlity!

Wonderful place to stay

We recently had a wonderful vacation in Martha's Vineyard at this artists studio in Oak Bluffs. It was beautifully decorated with lots of natural light and it was so comfortable for our family (My husband, my 3 month old baby and myself). We were close enough to the shopping, beach and restaurants that we walked everywhere in town with the stroller. It was very conveniently located. Took the car to Vineyard Haven and Edgartown a few times, but really spent most of the time just hanging around in Oak Bluffs. It had everything. The condo was just lovely, we had plenty of room and had 2 other people join us for a few days, and there was more than enough space. And it's right on the edge of the campground with the gingerbread houses, we walked through there everyday.. it's so charming. I would highly recommend staying at Annie's place, it's truly a gem!

WE'RE GOING BACK!!!

Guest: Ashley (Montclair, NJ, USA)
Date of Stay: 05/28/11 Review Submitted: 06/07/11

We were excited before even arriving but upon arrival, we were immediately thrilled by our choice of accomodations. As a Vineyarder from childhood, I have spent the majority of my time on the island in one particular house. While I was admittedly hesitant about breaking from the familiarity of my family's normal rental home, upon arriving I was immediately put at ease, so much so that I scheduled my return trip before my initial departure. Annie (the Owner) greeted us as soon as we stepped out of our cab. She introduced us to our "3 day home" and got us settled in before departing. Though I was familiar with her interior design work from work that she previously did for a family member, her talents are truly showcased in her own property. Feeling like home from the moment you enter, the apartment was (presumably) clean upon our arrival, but it is the design and intricate details of the space that draw you in. Notice the fabric wrapped doorstops, read the sayings on the kitchen table, look at the painting on the ceiling fans, for those who love to cook as I do, use the brand new kitchen appliances and grill (we christened it in for everyone else). Best of all, especially in comparison to other Vineyard homes, take note of the newness and contemporary feel of the space. If it's not clear by now how much I loved this property, let the fact that I have told a number of other Vineyarders about it, the fact that I'm returning next month and my excitement about seeing and potentially renting Annie's new nearby cottage property, speak volumes. The apartment is walking distance from town, surrounded by art galleries, a supermarket and a couple of restaurants and is appropriate for couples and groups of all ages. Annie is friendly and accessible and her property is beautiful, comfortable and much deserving of a stellar review.

Charm and Convenience

I've rented many beach houses over the years, but this was my favorite. The pleasant owner has thought of so many things to make this a wonderful place in which to stay. The large sofa and the beds are very comfortable, the water pressure in the shower is great, the lighting for us readers is excellent, the kitchen is functional and nicely equipped. The spacious apartment is light-filled, well designed, and attractive. Everything you need -- beach, market, restaurants and shops -- is within easy walking distance. Since we made our ferry reservations in January, we were able to take the car, which made things more convenient for our family of four (three adults and one teen). I hope to return to this lovely apartment in a lovely town!

Simply Beautiful

My family and I (2 adults and 2 boys ages 7 & 4) stayed here for 1 week in late June 2010. This was our first experience renting through vrbo.com and the 1st for visiting Martha's Vineyard, and it went perfectly. The owner is super nice and was very helpful. The pictures displayed on this web site accurately reflect the rental property, but of course this loft is so much more beautiful in person....very well maintained property. It was much bigger than I expected too. Loved the open layout and the vaulted ceilings. The location was great....quiet and walking distance to downtown area of Oak Bluffs. Just head through the campground area and before you know it you're on Circuit Avenue. We brought our car and toured the island, but there are buses, plus great for bikes (owner has a small garage for storing bicycles). Just minutes away by car from State Beach which is great for kids...no huge waves! Places we loved....Oak Bluffs: State Beach, Sharky's Cantina Mexican restaurant, Mad Martha's Ice Cream, Gingerbread Cottages, Alpaca Farm, Flying Horses Carosel, Giordano's Family Restaurant (good pizza), Smokin' Bones restaurant (just down the street from the loft); Edgartown: Lighthouse, Among the Flowers Cafe; Vineyard Haven: The Net Result seafood market, Black Dog Tall Ships; Aquinnah: Lighthouse. I definitely recommend this property for your stay on the island! Also, if you plan on bringing your car, then book a ferry ASAP. Luckily, this experience went well too :)

A Little Slice of Martha's Heaven!

Date of Stay: 05/28/10 Review Submitted: 06/03/10

We had a great time at this place over the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend. Spent three nights and four days in this home which had everything you needed and more. Well decorated, groceries 2 blocks away, within walking distance of everything in Oak Bluffs (including the bus stop to get anywhere else on the island). Circuit Ave with all the shops and restaurants minutes away and yet this location felt well secluded and private. The owner was very professional and polite and we had no difficulties with check out or check in. Highly recommended for parties of 4-5 for a weekend or week long stay on Martha's Vineyard.
