This is the best place in Northern Minnesota for a family vacation or an executive retreat. If you like privacy in a beautiful, north woods setting, with a newer, large home, then this is the place. Fishing is great even directly off the dock.
This is a spacious, waterfront home that is beautifully landscaped on Gunn Lake, great for swimming, fishing and exploring the sparsely populated chain of lakes. This large, custom house is over 2700 square feet, brand new in the year 2000. It sits on 18 acres and has 900 feet of shoreline. It offers four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a well applianced kitchen. You can totally escape your worries in this private getaway. There are miles of trails for bicyclists, walkers, and joggers.
This retreat is located within ten miles from Marcell and adjoins the Chippewa National Forest, in the area known as the Edge of the Wilderness. It is one of the most private, prestigious locations in the north and you will find it is a perfect getaway from the crowds of other northern vacation areas.
The back yard is a very gentle, grassy slope to the water's edge. There is a shallow, sandy area, right next to the 75' dock, making for a great spot for small children to wade/swim.

On the way to the house, you drive a National Scenic Byway, the 47-mile stretch of Minnesota Highway 38, that winds north from Grand Rapids to Effie, Minnesota, called the Edge of the Wilderness National Scenic Byway.
Marcell, population 309, is the hub of the Edge of the Wilderness National Scenic Byway. A township of 56 square miles, it contains all, or part, of 48 lakes. Tourism is Marcell's biggest industry but has the look and feel of a small town, peace and quiet in the most natural of settings.
