OCEANFRONT vacation rental, on the sand of a PRIVATE beach in a 24 hour gate guarded and security patrolled community.
Beach Road is situated within the quaint community of Capistrano Beach, located between Dana Point Harbor and San Clemente Pier.
The beach duplex is on the sand.
Two bedrooms, one bathroom and laundry facilities are located UPSTAIRS.
One bathroom, sofa-sleeper beds, basics-equipped kitchen, dining nook and large living room are DOWNSTAIRS.
NOTE: The livingroom has 2 full-size sleeper sofas which can sleep up to 4 guests.
House is a side-by-side completely furnished DUPLEX.
Each unit has a front and back balcony as well as a front and back patio. A firepit on the beach, one for each unit. The beachside patio has a picnic table with umbrella and sand chairs.
Only the driveway is shared between the two units. It can hold up to 12 CAREFULLY parked cars in total.

We were pretty excited about this rental property except that without A/C in the summer you need the sliders open at all times and ceiling fans going; both of which contribute to the beach coming indoors. Also great … if it's a nice breezy day and there's no camp fires going, or someone hasn't just doused their campfire, or your neighbors aren't grilling and smoking. Under IDEAL circumstances this is indeed a great rental, but this beach that permits camp fires and there IS smoke from those and the BBQs and the smokers who may be renting in adjacent units; so unfortunately all those things contribute to a less than favorable rental unit because you get charged for smoke remediation even if you weren't smoking in your unit. At least that's our experience. These are very cramped properties, most of which share walls so you're contending with neighbor's wet towels and dirty clothes draped over your wall. Likewise on the beach your beachfront is only as wide as your neighbor's encroachment allows. We didn't get right out there in the early morning thinking we wouldn't have to stake out the beach in front of the unit, and that was a mistake as revelers from units on either side of us left us little room to utilize the beach in front of our unit. The kitchen was well appointed, the upstairs shower is oddly shaped and difficult to maneuver in but the water pressure was decent and hot water plentiful. The living area would be a great place to congregate as would the back patio if only for better air circulation and a bit more privacy. For the money we've experienced much more private accommodations in Laguna & Dana Point and there looked to be better rental units within this gated community, so I'd keep looking if I were you. At the very least, be certain to add additional $250 for smoke remediation to the overall cost of your rental.

Owner response: This private beachfront property does allow bonfires, and has for years, which is considered an asset to the vast majority of our guests. The duplex is a side-by-side structure, each unit mirroring the other, with a single adjoining wall. The sliders, which open to each patio, are identically located making breeze-flow & exposure to the elements identical as well. This guest rented both Units A & B concurrently. Upon check-out, we were notified by our cleaning crew that Unit A's downstairs area smelled of cigarette smoke. Our carpet cleaning crew and two other company representatives confirmed and cigarette smoke remediation was performed. Unit B was free of any such condition. This unit has been rented to happy guests for decades. Lingering bonfire smoke has never been an issue, and this was the first and only time our management company has had to deduct for such remediation. We take the comfort of each guest very seriously. This is a non-smoking property. We inspect the units upon check-out to insure the next guest finds smoke-free accommodations upon their check-in.
I have stayed at many hotels and vacation spots and I have to say that the beach house was the best vacation my family and I have ever had. The house was so clean and beautiful and being able to wake up to a beautiful sunrise everyday was wonderful. Thank you for such a wonderful time. It was so relaxing and it was home away from home for us.
