Our cottage is soothing answering the needs of individuals, intimate family gatherings and business travelers alike coming to Lakehead, California and the Redding, CA area! Located just 20 minutes from Redding and 20 minutes from Mt. Shasta in a secluded mountain neighborhood. If your looking for adventure look no further. The lake and boat launches are within 3 miles, there is fantastic hiking, biking and many locations to be explored right at your fingertips.
This is a 1+1 home. Originally there was only a master bedroom but a second bedroom was added to the home later in time. The home comes complete with queen sized beds, full kitchen, LCD TV and wireless internet. We happily provide a luxury air bed for an additional daily fee for a 5th person.
This is a no smoking property.

What you see is not what you get

Cons: - Just one bathroom and it is attached to a bedroom. No way of entering without passing though the bedroom. So, if you are 2 couples or more, forget this place. - Expensive. Exorbitant cleaning fees . No refund in spite of keeping the house clean. - Not much activity to do nearby. Got to travel at least 10 miles - Not a secluded place. There are houses beside and opposite. - It is just by the I-5. There is another lodge nearby ( 100 meters from where we stayed ). We thought we could have well taken that. 2 nights stay ended up being a whopping sum. - All utensils very old. Cork screw was a joke. - "View/Location Mountain View" is not true - Surcharges for stay less than 3 nights. Pros: - Always available for rent. - Wifi
Owner response:If the ad had been read the guests would have known what they were renting. The ad on VRBO to which they inquired about specifically says and we are quoting: "This is a 1+1 home. Originally there was only a master bedroom but a second bedroom was added to the home later in time." A master bedroom is a bedroom with a bathroom attached to it. The ad also specifies there is only 1 bathroom. Our cleaning fees are fair and reasonable based on a 3 night stay, the amount of cleaning and laundry that has to be done is calculated into this equation. When the guests inquired for a 2 night rental, they were notified of our 3 night minimum. We are willing to do stays for a lesser period of time for an increased cleaning fee. They readily agreed to the fee. They inquired and booked a home in Lakehead, CA. The lake is 5 minutes away. Redding is 20 minutes away and Mt. Shasta is 20 minutes away. It is not our fault that they were not happy with the location amenities that they chose as a vacation spot. They inquired to us for a place to stay! The cork screw is being replaced. Thank you for notifying us!

We were dissappointed by the lack of seclusion, there arent any pictures that show how close you are to all the neighbors. That combined with the lack of window coverings made us feel less than comfortable. The house itself was cute, It could've been a little cleaner though.
Owner response:Thank you for your review and giving us a chance to clarify on these matters. This is a mountain cottage that is located in the mountains and trees. This is not a pavement encased home. There are a minimal spiders and webs come with spiders, this is the only item we could find that could be considered dirty after guests vacate. Our homes are cleaned throughly after each group of guests vacates, this includes cleaning up spiders and webs. There are window coverings in both bathrooms and bedrooms as we feel this gives privacy when it is needed. There are no window coverings in the living room and kitchen. This provided guests the oppertunity to enjoy the trees and outdoors that most seek while staying on our mountin cottage instead of our estate/ranch which is near by Redding. If you are looking for city quality in a country setting please view our website at www.bonafidegroup.com to find an immaculate ranch just outside the City of Redding.

We loved this little house, it has a great feel and is real comfortable.
