VERY NICE!!!

We really enjoyed our stay in Hawaii. If you want to get away from the night life of Honolulu, the Hula Breeze is the place. Allison and Sven are very helpfull if you need to and they give you all the privacy you need. If you don't mind having dogs around, it's the place. Ringo was part of our stay there. Thanks again.

Great place to stay. The accomodation is spacious, clean, bright and comfortable. Everything thoughtfully supplied for a carefree holiday. Helpful friendly hosts and nice neighborhood. Close to beach and shopping centre, we loved the healthy foods in Down To Earth health shop. We would love to stay there again when next visiting Kailua.

Perfect vacation

Our stay at the pineapple suite was beyond our expectations. Sven and Allison are very gracious hosts and love helping you plan things for the day, give directions to locations and tips on where to eat and things to see. The suite was the perfect size and was very comfortable. The beach was within walking distance and was beautiful and coming home after that to have a cocktail by the pool and listen to the birds and watch the lizards was a perfect day. There are lots of restaurants and little shops in the area within walking distance and hiking trails and waterfalls very close as well, but by car. The house is on a dead end road in a quiet residential area so it is very peaceful and relaxing. I would recommend this place to anyone and we are already planning a return trip!

We love our stay at the Hula Breeze! Such a peaceful, quiet neighborhood; we can't imagine staying in one of those massive and busy hotels. It was like coming home every night by driving through the neighborhood, pulling in the driveway and walking right into our suite. Forget parking garages, elevators, walking through the lobby to find your tower and an endless walk down a hallway, this is much better. Having the kitchenette and laundry availability was a lifesaver!!! Allison and Sven were exceptional hosts!!

Thank you Allison and Sven--You made us feel very comfortable. We loved being in a quiet neighborhood and being able to walk to the beach (one of the most incedible beaches in the world), and to town for dinner and shopping. Driving to Honolulu was easily accomplished over the Pali. We also loved driving to the North Shore on the quieter roads on the east side of Oha'u. You were very helpful in answering all of our questions and I will highly recommend your B&B to my friends and family. We hope we are able to stay again in the future.

With the help of Allison's Hula Breeze web site, we were able to pick a great spot for our stay in Oahu. Allison welcomed us and was available if we needed any info. We found her recommendations on hikes, restaurants, etc. fit our taste. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely do it again.

Had an exquisite, relaxing visit -- easy walking to beach, coffee at Kalawapai Market, snacks at Buzz's. Appreciated the neighborhood vibe and the non-invasive hospitality of our hosts. Great launching location for east side and north shore beach exploration. And close enough to Honolulu for downtown action :)

Allison and Sven supplied lots of advice and every possible convenience to make easily confused travelers like us comfortable. They included a map with landmarks inked in to keep us from getting lost and restaurant reviews, as well as pool and beach supplies. They are so nice, it's like staying with good friends. The room and pool are really lovely. We hope to stay with them again.

We stayed in this cottage for almost 2 weeks and we felt right at home. The neighborhood is quiet, the house is darling, and the pool and grounds are lovely. We loved walking down to Kailua Beach in the morning to watch the sun come up. In the evening, we often would walk to Kailua Town for dinner. We will definitely stay there again!

My husband and I stayed at the Pineapple Suite, May 2010, and enjoyed our stay immensely. The room is "as advertised." It is very nice and comfortable. The surroundings are very safe, as well. The beach is within walking distance of the house. Kailua is a very beautiful area (where the Pineapple Suite is located.) The beaches are amazing. Allison and Sven were very helpful with recommendations of restaurants and so forth. Ellie, their dog was sweet, too. I would highly recommend this rental unit to everyone. This unit is close to shopping, restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores. Thanks Allison! You helped make our first trip to Hawaii memorable. We will definitely be back to stay in the Pineapple Suite.

We had the best vacation ever and Allison and Sven will always be a part of that wonderful memory! They are the most helpful and friendliest couple you will ever meet. We loved The Pineapple Suite and how convienent it was to the beach, Kawapalei Market, kayak rentals, restaurants - all within easy walking distance from the room. The Pineapple Suite is situated in a nice, safe neighborhood. Their grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Allison and Sven create such a layed back and welcoming sense about The Pineapple Suite that anyone would enjoy and find as the perfect retreat in Hawaii!

Quiet neighborhood, Extremely Clean, Comfortable Bed, Great Hosts, Close To Beach, So Many Extras To

Guest: OregonJuliekins (Oregon)
Date of Stay: 03/03/10 Review Submitted: 03/26/10

Our stay in the Pineapple Suite and the Hula Breeze was just fantastic. The first thing we noticed was how cute and clean the place was. It was so bright and cheerful. And the grounds were landscaped so it was just so private. Then we started noticing all the extras they had for our pleasure... Beach Towels Beach Chairs Ice Chest Boogie Boards Snorkel Gear Portable Radio Both Shampoo & Conditioner Washer & Dryer BBQ Just to name a few. We were also fans of the Eco friendly nature of the place. They are using a solar powered water heater, and also recycling. They seem to have thought of everything. The beach was close, and so beautiful. We slept very well in the oh so comfortable bed with the nicest sheets I've ever experienced in a rental. It was actually hard to pack up and leave our little Island home. But we plan on coming back. And when we do, we will be booking our stay back in our little Pineapple Suite and the Hula Breeze. A big thank you to Allison and Sven. You really gave us everything we needed for a great time. What great hosts you both are. We really appreciated the list of places to visit, and local stores and restaurants with addresses. This made it so easy for us to put it in the GPS and not spend time looking for places. Hope you see you both again soon. Aloha~

Staying at the Pineapple Suite was absolutely wonderful! It's a quiet, clean retreat to come home to, after a busy day at Kailua Beach--the most beautiful beach we've ever experienced. The room is spacious and comfortable with a luxurious king bed and well-stocked kitchenette available. So many quaint, personal touches adorn the decor. Sitting by the pool at night, watching the stars, was so romantic. We loved staying there and would recommend the Pineapple Suite to anyone looking for a great experience in accomodation and hospitality.

We loved our stay at the Pineapple Suite at the Hula Breeze. What you see is what you get! It was the cleanliest Inn we have stayed. It really is a 7 minute walk to the beach. If you want to drive over to the beach, there is plenty of parking. Allison and Sven are fabulous In Keepers. Don't over pack as there is a lovely laundry area to freshen up the few things you need. The King size bed is very comfortable! I recommend if you plan to do any sight seeing to bring a GPS. We bought ours at Costco, the Tom- Tom $120- if you rent it from your car rental company it is $80 for a week. It made every trip out of Kailua stress free and effortless. We are already planning our return and have told all of our friends who like Quaint, Clean and Quiet to go as soon as their schedule allows! Thank you, Nancy and George

When we arrived at the Hula Breeze we realized that it was going to be a great, quiet 8 day vacation only walking distance from the best beach in Oahu, Kailua Beach. Everything was (if not surpassed) our expectations : the room was very spacious, tasteful, always cool and quiet and with all the conveniences necessary to make you want to come back. The location was exceptional not only to access the beach but to the center of town where you could find a great number of restaurants, beautiful boutiques, supermarkets, coffee shops, book stores, etc, etc. We can for sure recommend the Hula breeze. Mahalo!

Wonder if you should stay at the Pineapple Suite in Kailua? Here is what to consider (from my point of view after 7 days) Do you want to be in a large, clean studio with kingsize bed, WIFI, kitchen stuff, private bath, TV? Do you want a pool on site? You okay without screaming kids (or the kind that don't scream for that matter) at the pool? Want to use someone's beach suppplies like boogie board, those mat things, snorkle equipment, towels, and cooler rather than pack or rent all that stuff? Want to meet two friendly, informed, practical, helpful hosts? (They won't make your beds, but other than that they are swell!) Would you enjoy a walk to the beach thru a lovely neighborhood? Do you know how to rent a car, read a map and find island attractions without a hotel provided van? You ok with not smoking? If you have answered "No" to these questions, then call the Hilton, otherwise - pick this one! We were happy here. Infact, while I am at it, Mahalo Allison and Sven -

We had a wonderful opportunity to stay in the Pineapple Suite for a full week. The location is superb - so quiet at night as part of a cul de sac. Yet convenient....a very short & comfortable walk to a private beach entrance, exquisite sand & sweet blue water plus plenty of activity for people watching. Not looking forward to people, you can have a relaxing time in your suite backyard with pool & private baby joe BBQ. Kailua is also very convenient to any activity you want to take in on the island. We spent a full day at Pearl Harbor, a partial day at both the Dole plantation & the Polynesian Cultural Center (plan a full day for the PCC) and had plenty of photo opportunities up and down the coast. So much more to do! Honolulu is only a quick 30 min drive even during the week on the scenic Pali Hwy.....the first time a commute was actually enjoyable. Allison and her husband are great hosts....there when you have questions but in total respect of their guests privacy. A great value and the basis for a great vacation! Mahalo!

Comment Text: We stayed in the Pineapple Suite at Hula Breeze the second week of August, 2009. Hula Breeze is as advertised, tucked away on a quiet side street, minutes away from the beach and a very short car ride to the city center. In short, it's an outstanding location. The suite’s private entrance was much appreciated as was the suite’s size, appointments and cleanliness. Closet and drawer space was more than ample. The bed is very comfortable, making it easy to just lie in bed and listen to the birds deliver their morning songs. Allison is a great host and we hope we get a chance to return sooner than later!

I recently stayed in the Pineapple Suite at the Hula Breeze and it was absolutely lovely. The host Allison made me feel so comfortable and didn't hesitate to make recommendations that I truly appreciated! The room is spacious, clean and as the property states...easy breezy. The location is private, yet you have access to everything you need via a pleasant stroll. I hope to return to Kailua soon. Much mahalo.
